Old school vintage rooms. Forgot I booked a beach front view and balcony. The room smells a bit musty. Nice soundscape with the waves crashing on the shore and the seagulls belting out their calls. For whatever reason we aren't getting good cell service in the room. We had to use the hotel WiFi to get any access. The breakfast is not good. The waffle batter is runny and turns out quite rubbery. Plain tea to drink only, white plain toast as the only pastry. Sugar cereal. Mushy Eggo pancakes, steamed ham, canned fruit, from concentrate OJ, maple flavored syrup. It's worse than the last place. Their food offerings are weak. They ran out of knives at breakfast. The plastic ware is not sturdy at all, hard to even cut a soft Eggo pancake or waffle. The doorwall screen is ripped on the bottom corner, probably how mosquitos entered our room. Day two and three is the same warm boring breakfast. We were able to get one Gala apple and a plain bagel at least. This is one of the worst continental breakfast offerings and they won't replenish or refill as it gets closer to 9AM. Additionally their offerings are not good. No yogurt. No tea bags except a plain tea. The third day I was able to get a Nature Valley granola bar. This hotel likes to create scarcity in the breakfast room and have guests grab items due to FOLO. Do be careful walking over the bathroom threshold, seems to have some nails exposed, as I hit it with my socked foot or bare foot at times, it smarts. The bed frame is a metal box all around the bed, rather odd, was expecting a wood frame to match the head board. The metal frame seems like a DIY platform. One of the towels in the basket had some stains on it, it's a white towel, bleach it out, no? The room does get really dark, makes for better sleep. Good drapes to give you a good night of sleep. Room is a bit antique. Breakfast is sad and low grade and lazy. The shower stall is tiny. The walk to town is only a few blocks. Room isn't small, but feels cramped. Nice on the lake hotel, great off season price. Nice and clean, I witnessed staff changing bed sheets so that was great love seeing that a linen cart with housekeeping. The room is a little dated but has great art on walls. Room had some dirt on wall by garbage can. Rooms have fridge but no microwave. Microwave is available in the breakfast area. I have stayed here many times in the past. You call and they put you on hold for a long time. They lie about everything. Yes it's on the beach. Yes it's a beautiful view. There is hardly any staff throughout the property. Please stay away from this place The worst was a big grown man feed the birds from his 3rd floor balcony while we sat on the beach. It was horrible. They were swarming all over the place. No staff anywhere. I only see staff in the lobby and at breakfast. Please research this place I wish I did. It's a disgrace. !!!!!! read more

I pre-booked our room months in advance, specifically choosing a ground-floor, two-queen room to accommodate one of my children who has mild autism and a serious fear of stairs and elevators. This was not an afterthought--it was the entire reason I booked early. When we arrived, the front desk refused to honor our confirmed reservation, claiming fire restrictions due to our family size. Instead of resolving the issue, we were placed in a second-floor suite and charged an additional $200, effectively taking advantage of the situation we were already stuck in. We are a family of 2 adults and 5 children, and we have stayed in many hotels throughout Mackinaw and St. Ignace this year. Not once has our family size been an issue when booking a two-queen room--until now. The entire stay was miserable. What should have been a vacation turned into a constant struggle getting my child up and down the stairs, on top of the unexpected financial burden. The stress completely overshadowed our trip and ruined the experience for our family. I will never stay here again, and I strongly recommend others go elsewhere. We paid over $400 for a beachfront jacuzzi room & the toilet didn't work. Alerted front desk who sent maintenance. Assured toilet was fixed. Found out too late toilet was NOT fixed. Had to check out early because toilet situation was so disgusting. Complained to front desk. All they cared is if we had eaten breakfast. (We couldn't even have coffee the toilet was so gross.). NO HELP. NO offer of refund or discount. NO concern over broken toilet ruining our stay. Don't waste your money here. No stars if possible. The room was dirty with a dead bug in the soap dish and a spider on the bathroom floor. Hours later, bugs accumulated in the corner of the room and another black spider on the wall in the room. The desk clerk was very rude. I wanted some kind of discount on the $209 room. She said no and to call corporate. I asked for a manager 2 times and she finally said she was a manager. I said I didn't know without a name tag which she barked back she didn't need to wear one. The bugs are really unacceptable and she said they come and go. We had to get keys replaced at least 5 times because our door would not open. She never apologized for the inconvenience. Out of know where she shouts(as she has been shouting to me. I was not shouting) that she is a US citizen. This comment totally confuses me and my husband. We are guessing that she was trying to verbally attack us with racist type comments. We made a quick trip to Mackinaw city in hopes to see the northern lights. We quickly picked this hotel without looking at yelp comments. My mistake. I hope nobody else goes to this property. We were not in the room much but when we came back to the room at 130 in the morning, our keys didn't work and the bugs were in the room. We did the best we could with this terrible situation. Hours later, we are trying to have a conversation with the supposed manager. I did call customer care and no compensation. I was put on hold too. They don't seem to care. Not very hospitable. Beds are comfortable. Liked hearing the waves and birds. However, the entire hotel is not handicap friendly. None of the doors open for handicap and as we were struggling to get in the door with a wheelchair the bored girl at the desk was just watching us. The tv said it had closed captioning but it did not work. The coffee maker in lobby broken or off entire time. Coffee in room non existent. The hotel was fine for our needs but the lack of basic handicap accessibility was frustrating. I'm shocked it passed basic ADA standards. Oh and hard pass on the "continental" breakfast. read more

Outrageously priced for outdated and gross rooms. We stayed on the first floor in a balcony room, we killed at least four spiders in our one night here. We wanted to sit out on the balcony to watch the fireworks, but there was a black widow spider in the corner....pest control is pretty much out of the question. Staff was very nice, breakfast was a hard pass. Walked across the street and ate there instead. We booked a double room suite with 4 adults and 3 children and we were very happy with our stay!! The front desk employees were very welcoming and a pleasure to talk with! The cleaning staff were very friendly as well! We were a little late getting upstairs for breakfast so they had pretty much run out of a lot of the food but again the staff there were very nice as well! Our rooms were very clean and although a little dated we were very happy! Our beds were very comfortable! We will definitely stay here again and we recommend this place! You have to remember how many people come and go from this area on a daily basis during the summer hours and you have to expect a little wear and tear. Here's why: Uninformed Price Increase: Upon arrival, they were blindsided after being informed their was a credit card issue and the only remaining rooms were double the price. They claimed an email was sent to my grandfather, but since he is 90 years old, he did not receive this email, and no attempts via telephone were made to make him aware of the situation or allow him an attempt to resolve the matter prior to leaving Wisconsin. Although they were not forced to stay there, there were very limited options available at the time due to my grandfather's health and disabilities and after a six hour car ride there, they had no choice but to agree to the new room prices and try their best to continue to enjoy the weekend. -Room Concerns: While generally clean, the rooms encountered technical issues like a broken toilet and TV requiring multiple service calls. -Limited Accessibility: The advertised trolley service, which influenced the booking choice, was unavailable, impacting accessibility for guests with mobility limitations. -Communication: Trying to understand and resolve this mess was a nightmarish ordeal. The unhelpful hotel staff lacked authority and provided conflicting information. Reaching corporate was just as bad, with representatives lacking knowledge and offering no resolution. At one point, I was escalated to an individual who eventually advised, "She didn't care about humans," suggesting a severe lack of human empathy and professionalism. Further Investigation: After being completely dismayed by this conversation, I decided to do some research of my own on who owns this hotel to try to speak to someone to understand more. In the process, there was publicly available information indicating past legal disputes involving the hotel's ownership, raising additional concerns about their practices. Next Steps: We are filing complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the Michigan Attorney General to further investigate these issues. Overall Conclusion: It was a humiliating and stressful experience for my family, especially my vulnerable grandfather. First the positives. The staff was pleasant and the location in proximity to Star Line and a bunch of food options is prime. However, that is about it. This place looked like it was very nice about 15 years ago, but little has been put into into keeping it up to date. Even the sign at the front desk was missing a letter. For as often as you do see cleaning and housekeeping out doing their jobs, this place is anything but clean. As mentioned in other reviews, the rooms always feel damp and the carpet looks like the kind you find in a casino (well worn and hides stains). They have a nice breakfast room, but apparently it is not operating and the to-go bags consist of a bottle of water, an apple and a chewy granola bar. The pool and the hot tub have a ton of sand at the bottom. I have seen the over reviews and don't want to rehash, but all the negatives are probably true, but again the staff was pleasant. Based on what I saw of the other hotels in the area and price an quality of the food, you may be better served staying in Gaylord. read more

Room is outdated, and small for all of the outdated furniture. Clean but not clean. Carpet in the hallway was dirty and worn. Dust was on the tv stand and other furniture. Light bulb in a fixture was out. Shower towels were so worn out they felt like sand paper. Do not know about breakfast. It is only served from 7am to 9am. Went down about 8:45 and not even coffee was available. Positive, the bed was comfortable. Good location, easy walk to restaurants and shopping. Was given a late check out. So generous. Check out was at 11:00, gave us till 11:30. However ran some stuff down to the vehicle at 11:10 came back to the room and the key card was not working, thankfully someone was still in the room. Would not stay again, with all of the choices of hotels on the Main Street there has to be something better. read more

On the upside, lobby had the classic look that fit the area so well, the bed was very comfortable and it was in a great location. One the downside, it needs some upgrading. More easily accessible outlets are a must these by the bed table. Most surprising was No plug for the coffee maker with the plug just dangling from the cabinet. Front desk ladies were polite and nice but I was surprised they didn't know when the hotel was built or how old...a very frequent question I'm sure. I'm being generous by giving two stars to this hotel as I will explain. Location wise, this hotel is conveniently located to the downtown area and the staff was friendly for the most part. The beds are extremely comfortable and the size of the queen room is great. Additionally, the view of the lake was amazing and it's beachfront so that was an added bonus. However, that is where the positives end. Our first day, we were able to check in early which was wonderful. You do have to go kung foo on the door to get it to open as it's not set right/flush. We got up to our room and settled in only to have another guest use their key card and open our door. The other guests went back downstairs and were given another room, but this never should have happened. The hotel deactivated the other guests cards and unintentionally (hopefully) deactivated ours as well. My husband went down to have our cards fixed only for the staff to say that we must have put our cards next to other credit cards and degaussed them. Strike two, instead of admitting their mistake, they tried to blame it on us. Needless to say, the entire week that we stayed, we put a hidden piece of paper in the door to verify that nobody else went in when we were away. Speaking of safety, this hotel isn't secure in any way. That's right, anyone can walk in the hotel, from any door, as they don't require key cards to get in. Regarding the rooms, the showers have crappy water pressure, but they get you clean. Also, they don't have enough towel racks, and the toilet paper is barely reachable from the toilet. Our room had a few spiders in it and there were a lot of spiders on the balcony. Additionally, if you have issues with seagulls then you will have to get over it quickly as they are everywhere (especially on the roof). The outlets in the room need replaced as our chargers kept falling out. There are no microwaves in the room and the fridge is really small. The tv didn't work when we arrived but we were able to fix it. Now to the facilities...breakfast was horrible if you were able to get in. This hotel is big and breakfast only lasts from 7-9am. There just isn't enough time to get people through. The facilities themselves need updated/fixed badly as nothing was well maintained. There were no gutters/downspout for our room so our patio was too wet to enjoy when it rained. The pool area was extremely humid as there was no real ventilation. Also, the jets for the hot tub didn't work. If you are wanting to visit their water park then you will be walking down the street to the Crown Plaza as it isn't on site. There was no decaf coffee anywhere and the vending machines didn't work properly. It took a while but we finally found the ice machine. Overall, I can't recommend this hotel due to the safety concerns alone. This hotel needs serious help and owners that will take the time to properly maintain the facilities. read more

Beware. What a negative experience and lasting impression. My family needed to cancel our reservation 3 days out. We missed the fine print which states not only a day, but a specific midday cutoff time to cancel. Otherwise they'll penalize you the first night's stay which for us was $318.23. We took the initiative and called the property within 2 hours of this time. We weren't no-shows either. The property referred us to corporate. We spoke with customer service rep Scott who simply doubled down, explaining if you miss it by as little as one minute, they will charge you. No exceptions. Here's what Hamilton Inn and its customer service representative is missing- every phone call is a tangible, front-end brand touchpoint. What we experienced was rude, plain and simple. My wife's career is in serving high-end clients. She was appalled at his treatment and how he spoke to her. It's a shame Hamilton Inn is so short-sighted, both from a customer service and policy perspective. Hamilton Inn could have a policy that ensures a positive accommodating experience for potential guests, leaving a positive impression, and creating anticipation of their future visit. Rather in their zeal to penalize for a lesser amount, they successfully threw away a longer stay (thus greater revenue) from our family at another time. With a simple phone call, Hamilton Inn showed us how little they value us (and you). Our experience not only left a poor impression on my wife and me, but it also earned them this Yelp review. It is off season so figured it was worth the ask as nothing was open to eat in house breakfast or lunch. I did see the mold on ceiling of bathroom and a few other little things I read from other reviews. Aside from that, seemed better than some others I recently stayed at. Didn't check out lobby only to check in- nor did we check out pool area. Balconies would be a lot nicer, if they were open to the beach area instead of walking all the way around. No maint going on outside. Gutters falling off and leaking water everywhere. Rooms are decent and clean enough to meet expectations though they need new carpet. Breakfast is a joke. The last time we were here in 2019 it was crowded but they had options. This trip they had piles of some sort of warmed up pancake and like 3 scraps of some sort of protein swimming in grease water. My daughter has a skin condition that prevents her from swimming in a chlorine pool and is handicapped. When we arrived, we took all our stuff to the room. Which took awhile. We couldn't find the access to the beach, we had to go ask the ppl at the desk. When we finally got to the beach, or lack there of. We immediately went back to the lobby to ask for a refund. They refused to refund us our money after talking to the manager, she said there was "nothing she could do". We couldn't afford to pay for two hotels. So we were forced to stay. Two days in Mackinaw that my daughter cant enjoy because of this greedy hotel. I understand lake water rises, but when your advertising a beach, I sort of expect a beach. We recently stayed at the Hamilton in Mackinaw City for a number of days. To say we were not happy with the service is an understatement. The front staff was slow, rude, and dismissive. It started when we checked in and we're asked if we would like housekeeping during our stay. We wanted to have housekeeping come and clean and restock our room daily. They huffed and puffed that they had to come to our room everyday. They even tried to talk us out of it saying "well you can come to the front desk for more soap/towels/ect." When paying $309 a night we would like to not have to go to the front desk every day to get new linens/soaps/etc. Later when we went to book tickets to go to Mackinaw island. You could go to the front desk to purchase mackinaw island ferry vouchers that you then could redeem at the dock for your tickets. My Mother and Aunt went and asked if we can purchase some ferry tickets for the group. They were told to come back in the morning because they could not do the tickets at that time. (Of note they were not busy and there were no others but us in the lobby). Well we didn't want to have to rush or be delayed the next day if there was a line or something happened which is why we wanted the tickets the night before. Well I went up and asked prices and WHY we could not purchase the ferry tickets at that time. Her response was well they are non-refundable and if we did not use them we would lose that money... After informing her we WOULD be going to the island the next day so would like to purchase the tickets she huffed and puffed printing off the tickets for us. After we got the tickets they clearly said they were valid for the FULL 2023 SEASON and not just a DAY! She was acting like we put her out by having to do something when we asked for her assistance. When thanked for her assistance we got no your welcome or even a kiss my butt. Housekeeping was also not cordial or considerate at all! One morning my 12 yo cousin went to grab another bottle of shampoo or something and was yelled at by one of the housekeepers. She said all the items on the cart were already allotted to rooms and if something was needed to go to the front desk. Even if that was true she could have been MUCH more considerate than yelling at a little kid! We then realized we had left our key in our room and went to ask her if she could let us in. She LAUGHED at us and said she was not allowed to open doors for people... my husband needed to go down the the front desk, deal with their unfriendly attitude. Finally we do not understand why we were also given a room that has super high beds when my aunt/uncle/cousin have very low beds. I mention this because we had previously inquired about a handicap assessable room but the beds are so high my father can barely get into the bed and with no lounge chair in the room he has to sleep in the bed or the hard table chairs. read more

Learn from my mistake and ask for a different room. I should have spoken up right away about my concerns since they do have someone at the check in desk around the clock. We had a first floor room with king with a jacuzzi. It was a last minute reservation and was told that the hotel was full. We arrived late so we didn't complain about the dirty rag on the floor, the uncloseable bathroom door, the overwhelming smell of ammonia (cleaning solution maybe) and the wet carpet.. At 9:30 we turned on the air and ran the fans to try to air out the room a bit. When we returned at midnight, the smell of ammonia was still intense, almost dizzying. I ran the Jacuzzi with bath soap to try to hep with the smell. The bed was comfortable and I was amazed at how many free channels they have on the TV. The room did cool down with the air conditioning but the room never dried out. The carpet still felt wet in the morning and the air thick. I did get a good nights sleep. We didn't hear noise from any other rooms. We went to breakfast, grateful for the free complimentary meal. The only protein offered was ham that was dry and I just couldn't stomach it. It was free so we again said nothing. My husband is not a picky eater and he was very unsatisfied. When we returned to the room to pack our belongings, the room still had a powerful smell.....musty and ammonia. We stopped in the evening after our trip to the island just to let the desk know that they should check that room for some of the issues we experienced. The associate started to write down my concerns but was interrupted by her superior because she was a trainee. She wanted me to wait so that she could help me. We waited for 4 other parties to get what they needed....a 20 minute wait. She graciously listened but once she realized I wasn't a current guest she just said "I'm so sorry" multiple times. By this time I had delayed my departure by 30 minutes so I was discouraged and angry. She did not write down any of our concerns or indicate she would try to look into the issues. I would have left after 10 minutes but Kiki just kept insisting we wait so she could personally help us. I tried explaining that we just wanted to leave a note for maintenance and the custodians but she must have thought it was something we wanted fixed at that moment. I saw her resolve multiple concerns for guests with kindness and patience so I thought it was worth the wait. Clearly we didn't understand eachother so I left with a bad taste in my mouth and the smell of ammonia still burning in my nose. read more

My recent stay at The Hamilton Inn left much to be desired. Despite being one of the priciest options in town, the hotel fell far short of expectations, starting with its outdated and poorly maintained facilities. Small details compounded the disappointment: vending machines were empty, and we encountered a dead fly in one of our beds. The free breakfast was subpar. Overall cleanliness was lacking, making our "suite" -- essentially two connected rooms with no windows in one -- feel claustrophobic and dingy and the bathrooms were dirty exhibiting signs of mold. The hotel advertises one of the only hotels with a beach, but it's very small. The hose to clean off the sand was broken so the first-floor entryway was covered in sand. The hallways and rooms exuded a musty odor. When we checked out there was a family that was complaining of a fly infestation in their room. The pool was okay, albeit small, but the waterpark (that's located at another hotel with the same owner) was poorly maintained. The kids still had fun, and while the indoor waterpark was small it still had potential. However, one of the walking bridges was broken, there were numerous broken floor tiles with sharp edges, they ran out of towel, etc. To top it off, the keys would randomly stop working and we would have to go to the front desk for new keys. They kept explaining that the keys were sensitive and to not keep it near a cellphone (I haven't had an issue with a key near a cellphone in over 15 years). We were not the only people who had issues with their keys. While most staff members were pleasant, our experience was marred by a particularly rude manager. Furthermore, discovering the near-monopoly ownership of the area, which limited dining and activity choices, added to our disappointment. It's frustrating that the City allows this kind of monopoly, and all of the businesses owned by the same family have gone downhill (as we have heard from locals). I would advise prospective travelers to spend your hard-earned money elsewhere like nearby St. Ignace, as our stay here did not live up to its price tag or description. read more

We checked into our hotel and when we got to the room it was extremely pungent in mildew/mold smell. We immediately went to the front desk to ask what could be done about this situation. Not only do we have 4 young children all under the age of three traveling with us but one of the adults in our party is immunocompromised. That being said, the front desk sent maintenance who apologized profusely, tried to clean the air vent filters and then sprayed the carpet to mask the smell. None of that helped and it made breathing in the room very difficult. We once again, made our way to the front desk to ask for another room. We were told there was no other room available and that housekeeping could come by. This was not acceptable as that room was giving 3 out of 4 adults headaches. Yet again, we went up to the front desk to now ask for a refund. Magically, a room became available. An associate walked us up to the room to make sure this room would be suitable. The smell was a night and day difference, however, that thought was very short lived as found the many mold spots in the room. This issue is taking place between the hours of 9:30pm-10:15pm on a Friday night. The rooms are so dimly lit that a quick walkthrough didn't give us a chance to notice any active mold growing. This is completely unacceptable. With it being so late we had no choice but to sleep and figure out a plan in the morning. The next morning, we made our way to the front desk to voice our concerns. We asked the manager Michele, if she would like to accompany us to take a look at the mold, she said no and that she would find us another room and inspect it herself. We asked multiple times for a refund or even just a refund if we do not stay the additional night. She said that was not possible and to come back as she did not have time to get us a new room at that moment. In addition to all of the things listed above, the customer service of two of the three employees we encountered was the worst we have ever experienced. I would never recommend this hotel. The smell when you walk through the halls are musty. The first room, #106 smelled absolutely terrible of mold, mildew and just ick. The second set of rooms #220 and #222 had visible mold and signs of uncleanliness. Aside from the visible mold, the smell and need for updates, the beds are not comfortable, there are not enough outlets as well as many outlets were too loose and the chargers would fall. This might be the worst hotel I've stayed at in my life. The fact that it is close to the ferry and sites and has a lake view is meaningless since every other place does too. This hotel was dirty, the staff were rude, they had no recycling bins, the gym tv didn't even work, the pool smelled so strongly of chlorine that is all you smelled when you entered, the bed was the worst bed I've slept on in probably my entire life, the walls were thin, the pillows were thinner, it took all day for the room to finally be cleaned, and they refused to change my reservation to let me check out early. The beachfront here is actually so full of rocks it was virtually unusable. They didn't even offer breakfast or coffee - instead, you get a bag upon request with a water ball and a small apple. It was a joke. This was the worst hotel of my life and the sooner they go out of business the better. read more

False advertisement of a large beach front picture on their website! The website's main page shows a beach but it's actually mostly rocks with very little sand. Update your images, it's 2021. When I mentioned to front desk they said, "well, you don't pick the hotel because of the beach." I said, "with kids, you do." I'm currently staying here and people will be fighting for the very little sand space available tomorrow. Eight other families we are friends with are coming in tomorrow and this will not go with 18+ kids. Very disappointed. I won't even get into what the rooms look like. I was really aiming to give this hotel a 5 Star Review. Despite reading the other reviews. Around our second day of staying here I had a complete change of heart. First, issue was the water temperature. The first night we didn't complain because it was four of us in a room. We figure ok maybe the water pressure and hot water had run it's course. Next, morning we woke up to the same issue. My Aunt called the front desk to let them know that our hot water wasn't working properly. Now here is where things went wrong. The person at the front desk instantly got an attitude. It was never addressed when booking that the hot water is controlled caution to kids may get burned. ???? Ok Moving along. Second issue: By the 3rd day early in the morning we received a call from the front desk saying that the hotel had gotten a complaint that we were loud and running the halls late that night. Excuse me... I know some people may not be mature but you have 4 fully grown adult women up in here. There has gotten to be a mistake. I didn't know by us calling about hot water would lead to us running around in the halls and talking loud to disrupt others around us. Sounds very fishy to me or should I say BS. This just left a bad reaction on this whole experience for me. 2 Star Review: Our room was absolutely amazing with a balcony of the beachfront outside our room. A few of the staff members were super nice to us. The heat and the lying of us disrupting others around us is a whole different level and disrespect to me and my family. read more

We stayed here for a quick rest before heading to the island. I don't know if I would again. Let's start with: it was cheap, and you get what you pay for. At under $100 with a jacuzzi tub, view of the lake, two beds, I didn't expect much. That said, this place is just plain cutting stupid corners. The pillows are tiny $2 couch pillows from the local dollar tree I'm guessing and worthless. The room is clean-ish. Sheets were good, blankets fine, surfaces wiped down, but all furniture, tv, light fixtures were suuuper dusty. Even in the lobby there were legit cobwebs on the chandelier. The woman at the front desk was very nice. But then we got assigned a 4th floor room where the elevator stops at 3 with heavy bags. Breakfast is a bag with an apple and a granola bar. They said because of covid, but that's over now so it's clear you're doing it to cut costs. I'm highly confident the staff makes pennies. I'll pay more for an owner who actually cares. Won't come back. Sad too, because it could be so nice! read more

Hot tub was dirty, staff is unfriendly, and we needed to cut our trip short by one day (originally booked 3 nights). Staff refused to refund the 3rd night. Went to the front desk the day before we needed to leave, making sure to give plenty of notice before the change. The ad I saw boasted of an indoor water park, but because I came here in the "off season" it's not open on the weekdays. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel and I will never stay here again. read more

Do not stay here!!! The pictures make it look nicer than it is in person. First of all, the manager and all the staff are super rude, they truly do not want to be at work and it shows. The advertisement show it is having a free breakfast, there is no free breakfast. Breakfast was a small bottle of water a piece of fruit and a stale granola bar. The advertisement also shows a picture of a bar area, yeah that's a different hotel, they don't have a bar in this hotel. The room was OK. The beds were super uncomfortable and low to the ground. The tub was a little moldy and There is rust on the tub handles. I think I could've handled all of this because the pool was nice and the view was amazing but the staff was so rude and disinterested in the customer. Next time I'm staying at the Best Western down the street I heard from everyone that it is really nice and that the staff is super nice and super helpful, plus it's the same view. read more

I see others had a similar poor experience at this hotel. Well here goes: June 11-13, 2021. 1). Cleanliness: the room was NOT CLEAN; not sure if the linens were fresh because something was biting me and my daughter every night (mites or something) my daughter literally broke out in a rash!!; pillows were old, lumpy & yellowing; there was someone else's reservation paperwork from April left behind the tv; everything was VERY dusty; there was a fruit stem left on the nightstand (yuck); the floor was not vacuumed (bits of stuff in the corners), the bathroom floor was not mopped. 2).Plumbing/leaks: the toilet leaks (puddle on floor); the sink faucet leaks; the a/c leaks (brown streaks down the wall); ceiling peeling in the corner from a previous leak; the shower makes a loud knocking noise. 3). All other: the large picture hanging on the wall suddenly fell off & shattered (scared the heck out of us!); the iron was broken; some of the room keys did not work (so frustrating for me & my guests); slow wi-fi (did not connect until the next day); they ran out of the free breakfast at 10am (it was supposed to be available from 7-11am). How hard could it be to make more of the simple granola bar, fruit & water packages for your guests? The front desk staff was ok/dispatched maintenance to clean up the shattered glass when the picture fell & provided ferry tickets & shuttle service each day. They said hello but were still not very welcoming or friendly. Overall, due to these issues, I was not well rested and at the prices we paid the poor level of service we received is simply UNACCEPTABLE. Further, with COVID conditions, we deserved & expected a much higher level of cleanliness. I will not recommend, nor stay, at the Hamilton Inn Select Beachfront again. Awful!! :-( read more
