I don't think I ever really realized how many cool vintage shops they had along Lyndale. I'm not in…read morethe area much these days (the single lane traffic, traffic in general and parking in uptown is for sure a full time extreme sport). My mom loves cats and immediately when we walked in she was already picking up little trinkets and whatnot to buy. I loved the wall of gumball machines and the overall humor in the names of them. They even offer a loyalty punch card with more fun on the back of the card. They did have a room of comic books as well as a workshop room which is cool. They had a room in the back of the store with vintage items & more mature items like magazines, art, trinkets & more. In the main room they had trinkets, art, shirts, stickers and lots of fun stuff. Generally a lot of nostalgic stuff with a bit of an artsy twist. It's for sure worth checking out. Staff were nice. Someone overheard me asking my mom for a quarter to get gum (I don't carry cash or coins at all) and gave me and my mom a quarter which was very nice. For sure bring some quarters!! Generally enjoyed checking out this shop!

Love this beautifully weird little store. They host a lot of events for community and give back a…read moreton. The staff is always really happy to be there and share their fantastic (in the most literal sense) shirts, posters, books, art, and anything else you can imagine. It's a bit pricey for some stuff but I'm happy to pay it as I'm supporting local makers and helping to keep creativity alive in my city. If you like unique, kitschy stuff, supporting the community, or are a weirdo in general, you'll love this hidden gem.

I love Midtown Global Market with all of my heart. I went…read morelast Friday for the first time in a while and have already been back 2 times already since then (it's now Monday). Midtown Global Market has been such a staple in my life. It does such a good job of having food options from so many cultures and parts of the world. The food is reasonably priced and the workers are all so kind and knowledgable. Beyond just food, there is a huge selection of art, groceries, clothing, and more. MGM has always felt like the ideal of what Minneapolis is and can be. I am sad to see a lot of booths closed right now. My heart aches for my neighbors and community. I hope (and know) that MGM can bounce back and continue to be a place of diverse community. Love MGM always.

I feel like it used to be much livelier years ago. I went this year to Volunteer and noticed a lot…read moreof places were vacant/closed. Seems like they are trying to bring people back by hosting more events (they've always had events but really pushing for the community to out). They still have some decent food options. Sad about Slice closing before I had to a chance to check them out. Still a few shops and produce vendors. I was born and raised for a bit in South Mpls and I find this area to be a bit challenging sometimes especially with them narrowing Lake Street down to single lanes. Makes me avoid the area as a whole. Definitely not MGM fault but generally unfortunate. You do have to pay for parking, ramp or metered. Or you could be lucky and find a spot around the neighborhood and walk over.
