As a photography specialty boutique, I would say PhotoCreative is more for people who are passionate about image creation, as well as serious amateurs and professional photographers. If you are looking just to preview a large selection of good bargain, camera gift or novelty, basic point-and-shoot and walk-in window shopping during after-work/holiday/weekend hours, then a large chain store might be a better option. However, if you would like to meet someone who has been in the photography business for years with high expertise, who is passionate about photography, knowledgable about pro photography trends, equipments and technical details, personal about comparing the difference between brands, lens, light equipments and printers, then PhotoCreative is definitely the right place you should check out. Tip*: If you would like to see if an item/product is available for sale, trade-in or in stock, the best way is to contact owner Jeff (Email/phone number available on PhotoCreative website) and ask him directly.

They do make the effort to only stock pretty good equipment and leave the junk behind. It's worth driving out to the Junction to get the prices alone. That being said, it's the kind of place you'd rather just pop in to, buy your stuff, and leave. On good days, the service is polite and helpful - but on the worst days, it reeks of memories of trying to check out equipment from your local film-school cage. I think they must make a lot of their business through online or big company orders because they really aren't trying to be nice to semi-professionals or artists at all. And while they have a pretty good grasp of their equipment, they can't necessarily answer questions that go beyond the printed specs of the cameras (i.e. underscan/overscan of LCD monitors). In addition, in terms of decor, the place could use a serious makeover. Who puts their office desks (overflowing with papers, nonetheless) on the boutique side of the floor? It's really too bad that their service doesn't match their website - they would be the best place to go to in the city.
