Dr. Fine is both very professional and very personable. The consultation was almost fun and I scheduled the extraction for two weeks later. However, a couple days later my tooth started hurting worse and worse. I called and they were able to reschedule me for the next day! After such a rescheduling, I was worried I'd catch him in a bad mood. Boy was I wrong! Getting a tooth pulled is never fun, but Dr. Fine and his nurse made it as enjoyable as it could be! I got lightheaded at one point and they stopped and even had me drink some Coca cola! I saw some people said the lady working the front desk was unfriendly. I honestly don't know what they're talking about. I could imagine managing everything can be stressful at times, but she knew how to handle it and smiled through it all! I feel like I went to a different doctor than some of these other yelpers. Go in with a positive attitude. You'll have your teeth taken care of properly and maybe even have a few laughs.

Still scarred from this experience and cannot express enough to not see him.

My wisdom teeth have been giving me some pain for the past week and I was referred by Dr. Chen from C and C Dental to remove all 4 wisdom teeth. He recommended his Harvard Professor Dr. Woo. In his words, Dr. Woo is "not a butcher like most oral surgeons". Fast forward a few days I had my consultation with Dr. Woo. He is very knowledgeable and told me everything I needed to know in order to prepare for the surgery as well as potential complications since I'm not at the optimal age of 17 where wisdom teeth should be taken out. He made me feel very comfortable moving forward with the operation. A week later, all 4 wisdom teeth were taken out in under an hour while I was under general anesthesia and I experienced only very slight pain for the next few days. I hear many horror stories about wisdom teeth pains post operation and jaw problems but Dr. Woo was an artist when it came to performing surgery. I strongly recommend choosing Dr. Woo for any oral surgeries one might need. I trust this man with my life. Seriously. The office assistants are also very kind and nice. The compact and charming office is inside an old armory in downtown Medford. It also has state of the art technology so you're in good hands. The only thing that's strange about this place is its hours. It's only open 3 days a week unfortunately :/ Thank you so much, Dr. Woo and Armory Dental Implant and Oral Surgery for giving me such a pleasant experience for something that should've been extremely painful and unpleasant. I was then called in and was brought to get an x-ray. Quick and simple process!! After, I was led into the room where the procedure was to occur. I had concerned, initially, with getting my tooth removed but I was comforted by the assistant and said she will speak to the doctor before we proceeded Dr. Meredith August came in the room and was amazing. She calmed me down and reassured me the options I had. I decided to remove my tooth. Dr. August, walked me through step by step and asked me how I felt through out the whole procedure. She numbed my mouth and then proceeded. It wasn't painful, but more annoying and a lot of pressure which caused a lot of discomfort. I told myself itll be over soon and within minutes, the procedure was complete. She told me how to take care of the wound and walked me to the front desk. She got the receptionist to recommend a dentist as I didn't have a primary one of my own. Dr. August and the crew, were all amazing. I would recommend this location to everyone!!! I would give them more than 5 stars but obviously I can't.

I was very pleased with the work Dr. Hornung did on my wisdom teeth last July. I'd already been…read morethrough braces, emergency root canal surgery, and having teeth pulled, and yet I was still crazy anxious about having my wisdom teeth out. Once my insurance (and my wisdom teeth headaches) kicked in, I finally started doing research. This was one of the first of three places I called that would take on new patients for surgery, their price was the best (about 1300 or so), and their location was convenient enough for my mom to help me get home post-surgery. Oh, and they had a Mastercard finance plan, or so I thought. I went in for a consultation. They showed me a video on all the potential hazards that can come from the surgical process (grrreeeat!). They X-rayed my mouth and then showed me why it was imperative that I get it done ASAP. All of my teeth were impacted, and one had a cyst growing around it. (Woo!) So, we scheduled the surgery a month out, enough time to get it pre-approved by my insurance company and all that jazz. A little bit of time goes by and they call me with my estimate and how much I owe them in relation to what insurance was covering. It was not bad at all considering I didn't have the best insurance coverage, but it was enough. Finally, surgery day arrives! Designated Driver Mom and I got there on time and checked in. What happened next surprised me. The secretary at the front said they need final payment in order to perform the surgery. I asked them what happened to their finance plan and they said they were no longer doing that anymore. Flustered and growing more anxious by the minute, I explained that I wasn't prepared to pay today and had been relying on the availability of their finance plan. She explained that all balances must be paid in full upon the time of surgery, and rather rudely. I looked all over her glass window to find evidence of such a decree, and they did have it written, though small and out of the way. Luckily, my grandmother called us back and took care of the balance (Love you, Mere!) so that I could be pain and cyst free. After all of the drama, they finally call me back and get me situated. Almost immediately Dr. Hornung was ready to pump me full of drugs. Despite the earlier frustration, he was professional and calm. He told me a bad joke as he was putting me under and in about 10 seconds I was gone. The next thing I knew I was waking up in their comfy "recovery" chair, stuffed full of gauz, waiting for my mom to help me hobble out to the car. I spent the next 5 days popping Percs, eating jello, and nursing my stitched mouth at my mom's house. Never got dry socket, never pulled a stitch. 10 days after my surgery I went to have my stitches removed. Good as new! However, a week later my right bottom jaw got infected (probably due to a food particle or something) while I was still healing. Woke up in pain with a locked jaw on that following Saturday. I called Dr. Hornung at their Lowell office (which is open early on Saturdays) and got fit in right away. They cleaned it up and put me on a couple of antibiotics to be sure it cleared up for good. Since then there hasn't been a problem! Just make sure you do your research and make sure if they say they have a payment plan, that it's legit. To the dental hygienists, don't rattle your patients on the day of their surgery. What happened was a mistake, and I understand that, but don't treat me like a child because you failed to inform your patients about a change in your policy.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE please please avoid. The staff and especially Dr. Eckert (I only saw the father…read morenot the son) were extremely unprofessional and made me feel so uncomfortable. I actually cried once I returned home. I came in looking for a consult on a single wisdom tooth that has been bothering me. Dr. Eckert came in and immediately started pushing for me to get all 4 out: that's not what I came in prepared to do, so I was trying to ask questions about why I would need all 4 out when only one was bothering me. One of his quips when I asked why I would need all 4 was "only 10% of people get to keep all 4 of their wisdom teeth"???? okay?? how many people have 1 out, 2 out, etc? I feel that if I'm signing up for a surgery I'm allowed to ask as many questions as I want, but at a certain point Dr. Eckert said "I'm sensing some hesitancy and honestly, I don't know why." Maybe for a dentist the procedure feels mundane, but again, I'm allowed to be hesitant! I'm allowed to ask questions! And I shouldn't be shamed or gaslight into thinking I'm being ridiculous for asking questions! Another thing I kept asking was if I could just do the 1 or maybe the bottoms, as I see no reason to take out the tops (they haven't even started growing in yet). Dr. Eckert just kept saying "I don't know why you would do just 1 right now, because then you'll have to come in 3 more times to get each one out" what a ridiculous comment to even come out of his mouth. Of course I don't want to come in 4 times to take each out 1-by-1. That's not what I'm asking. I'm asking if I can tackle only the ones that look bothersome now, and reassess with the others later in life. They're my teeth, I'm allowed to decide which ones I want taken out!! Listen, I understand what his perspective is. He thinks all 4 will eventually start to bother me. Whether he's right about that is the subject of intense debate. The surgery is very invasive and having all 4 out will make the healing process more difficult, so I was hoping to avoid taking some out if they weren't bothering me right now. If 10 years from now they do start to bother me, great, fine. I'll take them out. There was no room for this perspective in that office, I'll tell you that! Finally, a note on the front desk and assistants, who were no better. There was a debate about whether to do full anesthesia or laughing gas. An assistant told me laughing gas wouldn't be covered by insurance. When I was checking out, I asked if I could please get a quote for both the full anesthesia cost and the laughing gas cost so that I could determine which one works better for my budget. They took SO MUCH offense to this request (even though it's literally my money and I'm allowed to ask how much the procedure will cost), and never gave me the second quote. When they finally got back to me about a cost it was for all 4 teeth (how many times did I tell them I didn't want all 4 out!!) and it was completely unspecified whether they had quoted me for full anesthesia or laughing gas. I definitely did not get 2 quotes. I cannot stress how entirely unprofessional my entire experience was. I sincerely hope dealing with the younger Mr. Eckert is a more pleasant experience. Please avoid this practice at all costs, they did not convey a respect for the patient like I would have expected, they just wanted to get as much money out of me as possible.
