Honest, reliable, trustworthy, takes pride in his work. This is what I read about Jonathan Halpert on a facebook group for a few years now. I couldn't agree more. I was using another company, but they sold, and I wasn't too thrilled with the technicians they sent to do the yearly service. I texted Jonathan, and within 5 minutes received a reply. I still had air, so it wasn't an emergency, and we scheduled an appointment for the next day. Jonathan texted and showed up right on time. He saw the issue, took pictures and told us exactly what was needed. He also gave us the best and worst scenario so there were no surprises. While he was out looking for replacement parts, he was in constant contact. Once he returned, the issue was repaired. I can't say enough good things about Jonathan Halpert and Halpert Air. My trouble with Jonathan and Halpert Air started when I bought 2 brand new air conditioners from him. One of the two had problems from the start(our guest house that we AirBnB). It had a leak in the refrigerant lines requiring a new coil inside the house. Simple enough, except Jonathan was not able to get it from his supplier as he "owed them money and was tring to figure ot out". This went on for 6 months, when our AC would go out every 2 weeks. If we were lucky, Jonathan would return our call or text and show up a few days later to add more of the leaking refrigerant. Meanwhile, we are scrambling with our AirBnB guests and even having to cancel some. The whole time, I was cordial and even came down to politely begging sometimes. Fast forward after 6 months of begging time and time again to refill our unit, he finally got his account in good standing and installed our part. This was installed about two months ago. All was well until our unit went completely dead late on a Friday evening about 3 weeks ago. I texted Jonathan at about 10PM (yes I know this is late, I apologized for this and explained we were going to the hospital early the next morning to have our third child). No response. Texted him a week later. No response. A week later. No response. I was completely ghosted. I finally sent him a text today(3 weeks later) mentioning I would be writing a review about my experience, and he completely flew off the handle at me. He blamed my late text as his reason for ghosting me. I think it would be tough to find a more patient and understanding customer. Not once in the 8 months of this nightmare did I ever question one step of this process. Not once did I lose my patience. Not once did I complain, ask for my money back, nothing. I am in the service business and understand things come up. This was above and beyond poor service time and time again. Currently it's still 86 degrees in our cottage. I recommend you stay away from Halpert Air if you are looking for a company that won't disappear on you when you need them the most. Run the other way. read more

Our initial experience with Jonathan Halpert was good. he replaced our old unit with a new one. Shortly after it was replaced we would have issues with the house getting hot. We would call and text him and after awhile we would get a response. Days would often go by. He would say he would be there and would not be there until the next day. He could not figure out what the issue was. He finally called the company that manufactured the unit and realized that when he worked on the unit previously he left a part out! all that time we spent without A/C and trying to get in contact with him... We have been told by 2 different companies that the wrong unit was installed and they are surprised it passed inspection. It didn't because a permit was never filed for. The unit completely died a year later and we attempted to contact Jonathan. No response. Once again he will not respond. Completely silent. Do not count on Jonathan Halpert to follow through, even when the mistake is his doing. read more

Jonathan went absolutely above and beyond for us. I emailed him around 11pm about our broken AC - not only did he get back to me that evening, he even offered to come out right away. He ended up being able to walk my husband through the repair over the phone and saved us the service call. I contacted, interviewed, and got quotes from 8 AC companies before settling on Halpert Air, so had lost of information on which to base my decision. Additionally I am a former HVAC contractor from up north and know just a little about the sizing, design, and installation of AC systems, so finding Jonathan was refreshing and led to the installation of exactly what I wanted (but didn't know at the time). Initially, Jonathan listened to my concerns and desires for a replacement system, asked pointed and thorough questions, looked over the locations for equipment, etc. and eventually suggested I do a direct replacement of the Mini-split system already in place. It was an aha moment as none of the other company representatives would entertain that idea. Once the decision was made to move forward, Jonathan revisited to make sure all his information, measurements, etc. were correct and on the designated evening, he and two other installers arrived and within 3 hours I had a new system in place. I admit that I grilled Jonathan about his knowledge of the business and was pleasantly surprised to find him extremely knowledgeable and willing to explain his approach to doing business. The customer service he provides is second to none and the determination he and his crew exhibited was remarkable. the one little glitch that occurred on the day of installation was taken care of that evening and everything has been running smoothly since. Replacing my HVAC unit with Hapert Air has been the best decision I have made in a long time!!! My old unit was on the verge of death and sucking out an obscene amount of electricity (over $250 for a 1200 sq foot house w/o a pool) I finally bit the bullet and replaced my unit. With in the first month my electric bill was cut in half and I'm now able to keep my house cooler during the day!! I came upon Halpert Air off of several reviews on Facebook. Jonathan has gone above and beyond on several occasions. When I first called him 2 years ago, I had just purchased a foreclosure and within days the A/C , which was fairly new, stopped working. Jonathan researched not only the company but each individual component of the unit until he found a resource that informed him, that although the unit was no longer under warranty, the part that was cracked was manufactured by a company that would stand by their product and considered it still under warranty. And with that the company replaced the entire unit. Without any cost to me. I can't say that I would have found another company or service person that would have gone to the amount of trouble Jonathan did to resolve this. This company was also referred to me by a friend and we decided to go with him because he was venturing on his own and starting his own business. He told us we needed to replace our complete AC system, so we did. We agreed upon a price for a 4 ton 13 seer system, he showed up with a 3.5 ton system and said it will work fine and that we wouldn't notice a difference. The system has never worked properly and I believe is undersized because it is 82 plus degrees in my house in the afternoons when the thermostat is set at 75. On top of the unit never working properly Jon cut through my roof truss during installation, left all kinds of trash and debris in my attic, and simply taped the panels on the air handler and never told me about any of this, I found out after going in my attic myself serveral months after the initial installation. It looked like the worse job I have ever seen and I understand why our AC system has never worked properly. I have pictures of all of this and my house is always hot during the daytime. Jon has never offered to fix the roof truss and he has never fixed the AC correctly after coming out several times. My biggest regret was giving Jon the work, he has only made it worse and is not resolving the situation. This is not the way to do business, I would avoid this company. read more
