    Pickle ball courts
    Melanie V.

Love coming to this park to play pickle ball and tennis. They have so many nice courts with lights that stay on as long as you want to play. They will make a sound and you just run over to push a button to keep them on. There are several wind guards and lots of parking. On Tuesdays there is a league that plays so the courts are hard to get a hold of on that day but the other days are pretty empty. Looking forward to checking out the trails and other parts of the park. If it's as nice as the courts, we will be happy!

Long, winding hiking trail and long biking trail wind through this large tract. **open during coronavirus** although the narrow hiking trail may not be ideal for to-standard social distancing. Scarce open spaces Martin county bucks the trend Come see a tortoise

This park has hiking, biking, open soccer field. Most importantly it has a bike was station. Would recommend this park. Bike trails have shades so you are not being baked by the sun.

I am so glad I found this place! I've been looking for somewhere to walk with my dog that actually has some shade because this Florida sun is just BRUTAL. I like coming in the morning when it's a little less crowded. It gets busier in the afternoon, but it's mostly bikers. The best trail to walk is along the river. (The trail that says FT on the sign) The walking trail is very easy, and there are signs posted everywhere so even if you're a beginner, this is a good place for you. There's lots of nature along the way as well. I've seen the tortoises everytime I go. One guy I even came across was on his back. (No worries, I flipped him back over) This park is definitely going to be part of my daily exercise now

This is a fantastic park to visit! They have: - Baseball fields - Canoeing / Kayaking - Pavilions / Concession Stand - Inline Skating / Outdoor Hockey Rink - Tennis - Soccer - Football - Playground - Picnic Tables / Bathrooms - Hiking Trails - Mountain Biking Trails Let me tell you about the trails - holy moly are they fantastic!! This is why we went to the park. The first time we went for the hiking trails which go for miles. We walked along the river, went over small foot bridges, and trekked on ample paths. One moment you're walking through a jungle and the next you're in a pine tree wilderness. Then we went back for the bike trails and had a blast. I'm not an avid mountain biker but seemed to handle the twists, turns, and bumps well. You could bike for miles and the diverse scenery is quite enjoyable. The low-lying palm trees make it bumpy and a little challenging. Be sure to wear a helmet, bring a camera, and plenty of water! You'll love it - I promise!

While the park boasts many amenities, the walking trails are a real mess. If you're going just for the walking trails, you probably won't be all too happy. There is no map or other way of determining whether or not you're lost, or how far away you are from the entrance. The trails don't have tree canopies either, so you are exposed to the sun at all times. It is probably best to stay away in the hot, humid summer, as the sun beats on your head, which my experience below will prove. My friend and I started down one trail and while we saw a tortoise, he eventually started getting worried about how close we were to the edge of the river, and the chance for alligators hiding in the bushes. We wanted to try getting off that trail and on to another, but there was no way of knowing where we were headed. We eventually realized we just looped around and at that point, he started panicking about the aforementioned alligator situation, and the fact he was entering heatstroke (or some sort of allergy to the sun, as his face suddenly puffed up and was swollen), and could not find a way out of the trail. Luckily, we eventually found a way out, but he does not want to return, due to the fact the trails are not marked, and there is no map to keep track of your location. I think all parks should have brochures with maps and their different trails, as well as showing the best ways to leave the trails should you feel ill, tired, or darkness descending quickly upon you.

    Fun mountain biking trail.

This park has everything. There are miles of mostly shaded hiking, we did about 5 miles and did not hit all the trails. 7.85 miles of single track mountain biking with additional miles on multi use trails, fun and challenging. Plus tennis, baseball field and a hockey rink.

Our new dog just loves the trails!

In 1990 the Kiwanis entered into an agreement with the City of Stuart who owned the property this park sits on. The Kiwanis and the local historical society, Stuart Heritage partnered together to raise funds for the park by selling historical Stuart themed Christmas ornaments. Every year the two groups work together to study the history of Stuart and design the ornament. The first ornament was sold in 1995. Stuart Heritage sells the bulk of the ornaments and in return they get to keep $5 per ornament for their organization while the Kiwanis use their portion of the proceeds for the park. Over a million dollars has gone into park renovations. The goal of the Kiwanis Club was to create a place where all children can play. Handicap accessible vehicles can pull right up to the entrance of the park. The park has specialized play equipment including a roller tunnel, accessible see saw, airplane bouncy, and roller slide. In addition to the playground equipment the park has benches, grills, pavilions, picnic tables, paved walkways, and a restroom. Everything in the park is beautifully maintained with lots of flowering bushes and trees to add color to the park. The park can be rented from the Kiwanis Club for parties and private events. For all of the efforts put in by the Kiwanis Club, this park has been named the premier park in Martin County. I love discovering parks that are made to include all children, especially those with sensory issues or physical disabilities. The children at this park looked like they were having a wonderful time. Martin County is beautiful and when you see a park like this you know they really care about their children.

If your kid loves baseball, there's always baseball games going on and there's also a playground for kids to enjoy. I haven't really explored the whole park on foot, only driven by since the skating area is all the way in the back. It's pretty new. I heard they just filled it in. I would say it's like the size of a normal skating area you would find at an indoor rink. I will come more often, but it is a 20 minute drive and they're doing a lot of construction on the roads that I take together. I wish there was more of these skating areas in different parts of Port St. Lucie.

The fields are lighted and the park is open every day from 8 AM to 10 PM. My favorite part of the park was watching the birds. While I was walking around two Sandhill cranes came by.
