Yelp review I had my first hair detox experience today. Halotherapy La Verne is located in Sola Salon in a secure building and it's a cute studio space. The hair analysis was amazing and was able depict hair sebum, build up, sensitivity and dandruff which I didn't even know I had dandruff because it's not visible to my naked eye. Janessa worked in my hair and was very friendly and Halotherapy will be a good hair detox in between hair cuts or salon treatments. It was a very relaxing experience. The water to wash the hair comes out of this gold ring while you simultaneously get some facial steam. Appointments are easy to make online. I booked 1 hour session. Next time I will book 90 min for longer session. I definitely recommend visiting this place and experiencing it for yourself. Just like your face needs exfoliation so does your scalp and hair. I do not recommend this place, not take appointments seriously, they have availability on web and when I booked the appointment I received a confirmation email, not even an hour later Hanna send me a text message asking me to go 45 minutes later according to her there were some issues with the appointments, since I told her I wasn't able to go later she said to choose an earlier appointment or even at morning. Then why they show availability on web if they're not able to fulfill appointments? No word to explain how disappointed I feel‍ read more

The overall experience was nice, but I do not think I would return. I went in thinking I was paying for the $130 service, but she kept trying to upsell me. She continued to refer to add-ons, without having a list of the packages in front of me. I continued to say "I want the $130 one." She continued to say "well really it's $110 and the next one is $140 because you paid a $20 deposit and it will be "refunded." Not sure why she kept using that language because it was misleading. Either way, I said "I will just go all out with the $130 package since that's what I have the credit for." I was done with my service, and it was $160. And, that $20 was not refunded as mistakenly said? I left very confused. If you choose to go, make sure you are not upsold and are clear on what you are receiving before beginning. I'm so sad it went this way. After the fact edit: I saw that there is a 10% coupon advertised for all first time customers. There is no mention of how it is applied, but it only says "for all first time customers." I asked about having this coupon retroactively refunded to me, to compensate for the poor communication and upselling. I think it should have actually been mentioned at checkout when I was clearly distraught and confused about the final cost. A $16 refund to keep a customer should be an obvious fix. Instead, I was told it is impossible to refund after the fact. In all, if you are looking for a customer-first experience and service, I suggest you to go elsewhere. read more

We had a great chat prior to my appointment and it was a lovely conversation- My treatment was extraordinary and the products used were wonderful! I went there because I need to really see what this was all about. I think I had a 90 minute session where I had a 2/3 scalp wash/massage and 1/3 blow and essentials. One, she didn't wash my hair thoughly. She washed one side more than other. I was laying on my back and never told me to you turn my head to wash the back/middle of head. After not having a good washing, she didn't even know how to blow dry my hair. I had to do it myself. At the end she told me she doesn't do hair and only knows make-up. This was a gift (luxe cleanse $160 service) so I wasn't sure what to expect but I wish the health scalp consultation focused more on what my scalp needs/products/care I benefit from other than just showing me what my scalp looks like up close on their screen (there were some dry spots she did point out but that was it) followed by proceeding to talk about other things not related to my scalp. The tech was nice and maybe was trying to be more personable since it was Mother's Day weekend but I would have loved to know more about my scalp and what I need. I guess it's my fault for not redirecting the convo back to the actual treatment. Though I enjoyed the actual service it self, I'm not sure I left knowing what it actually did for my scalp/hair but again maybe that's my fault for not asking the right questions. Overall it was a relaxing and nice experience and for that I give it 4 stars. Can't say I would do it again or at least maybe I'd ask more questions related to the actual service. Let me tell you, this was an amazing experience with my hair that I ever knew of. It was good to see how they show you what condition your scalp is in, by showing you on a iPad screen. I had been wanting to go here since I heard they were first opening and finally made the time to go on my birthday! It was my first time going to a head-spa and it did not disappoint, I did the 90 minute session with an added oil and scalp massage at the beginning that was the absolute best scalp massage ever, and I semi-regularly get massages and the head massage is always my favorite part, so I really mean it when I say this one was the best and totally worth the add-on. the scalp cleansing itself was awesome and the difference afterward was notable: My scalp felt so nice and refreshed and my hair was the softest it's been in a while, and not just directly after the treatment but even now almost 5 days later and I wash my hair everyday. Customer service was 10/10, I was treated so kindly and was able to fully relax and enjoy this treat for myself, and I'm a mom of 3 sweet babies under 3, so these moments of self-care are more meaningful than ever before so this was just lovely, I felt like she truly cared about creating a great experience.
