Wow, can't say enough about the imaging center. They help me determine whether I had prostate cancer through their imagining protocol. I returned one year later to make sure I was free of tumors. This is a great option, should you have prostate cancer vs cutting or needle biopsies. Palm springs facility is shabby and unclean. I need open MRIs. The over unclean 20 yr. old machine was in a small dingy room. It was not a really open machine. Halo diagnostics was extremely efficient and considerate. They made my appointment so easy by keeping me well informed , being very thorough and on time. Even before my appointment Mohamed made sure I had the correct paperwork emailed to me, at my request , so I could fill it out at home and not have to come in as early. Melinda was extremely kind and kept me apprised of exactly what was going on each step of the procedure. Dr. Hancock was also very informative , as the procedure progressed which made it so much easier for me. Lisa was great at letting me know exactly what was happening. I stepped over a fresh pile of orange vomit right outside the office door when I went for an ultrasound one week ago. I told the front desk staff, but it was still there when I left. THE ORANGE VOMIT WAS STILL THERE ONE WEEK LATER when I returned to pick up the report. Vomit is a biohazard and should have been cleaned up immediately for the safety of patients--as well as for basic decency. The office manager would not come out to talk to me because she was in a meeting with their new hi-tech partners--Halo DX. Dr. John Feller and Halo DX are too busy chasing profit to make sure the health facility is clean and safe for patients. I would have recommended DMI in past years but something is seriously amiss here. read more

Beware! When you call Halo they will give you an appointment time. However, this is not the actual time of your appointment--it's your "check-in" time, which is 30 minutes before your appointment. At "check-in" they ask you to fill out a form that literally takes 2 minutes to complete. So now you have to wait another 28 minutes for your imaging. When I showed up for my appointment, there were no patients waiting to be seen, yet they did not bring me in until I complained. The person at the front desk lied about calling me days before the appointment about the "check-in" time. Once in the imaging room, the tech did not explain anything, was annoyed that I did not arrange myself on the bed quickly enough for her, and leaned on my body as she did the ultrasound. At the end of the ultrasound, she did not offer anything to clean the gel. When I asked, she held up the roll of paper towels and dangled the edge down for me to grab. Whaaaa.....?? Unprofessional, shoddy operation. Don't go here! read more

Halo Diagnostics canceled my appointment three consecutive times due to the mri machine being down. Finally spoke with supervisor that said the machine has been down for a month. Why are you scheduling appointments for a broken machine? They offered me 9pm appointment in Indio, what choice do I have so I took it. I was lucky enough to be shoved into the tube and the facility air conditioning was broken Great! It took a month to get the written report and you have to call records for an image copy. Guess what, you call records and of course no one answers so you leave a message. Absolutely no return call back. Now you have to attempt to get a hold of anybody and beg after waiting on hold for 15 mins. This from a company charging thousands of dollars for imaging to insurance companies. Very scumy unprofessional organization but I realize nobody within this company cares anyway Good Luck! read more

I wasted too much time with this place trying to get Laser treatment. Their Website does not give the full story on what will happen with certain treatment options. Their hours are stating that they are open 8-5, and they told me they close early on certain days. It's so difficult for me to get out of work to make an appointment by 12 pm. I'm going to contact the corporate office and inform them of the hours of operation that they are saying they are open. They are just making sure they are out of there by 5 pm. It's always so empty in there, I wonder why? I'm also reporting them to my primary care physician and informing her to never send me there again. Thank you staff for making something that is stressful for me easy. I don't like the MRI machine ( big chicken) I can tell you that the staff was professional and warm caring and the over all feel in the office was up beat. I arrived at 830 for my 9 am appointment and was the first on called. I have PVNS, which requires me to get scanned every so often when I'm experiencing any new pain.. I asked my Dr for an MRI to be requested, and I was scheduled at Halo within 4 business days. So fast, considering my insurance always takes forever to authorize these things. They were even open late to accommodate my quick turnaround time for my dr follow up visit. (Scan was scheduled at 7:00pm) Mohammed was so kind at the front desk, gave me some paperwork to fill out and within 15 minutes I was walking to the back with Les, the tech. Les is outstanding and kind. He made sure to check in on me during the imaging, and even asked what my favorite music was to play during the scan. This could be the best MRI I have ever had! I myself am a nurse and had an on-the-job injury needing diagnosis. Beginning with Mohamad at the front desk, he was polite and pleasant. He went out of his way to make us comfortable while we waited and he was clearly busy! Linda expressed kindness to me as we commiserated over injuries. Last but not least, Les the tech was thorough and compassionate with painful positioning and kept me informed and encouraged while I was in the machine. A word about the machine. I have a morbid fear of anything medical. Was requested to have an ultrasound done at Halo Diagnostics in Indian Wells. It is like walking into a posh hotel--the place is absolutely immaculate right down to the toast cornered toilet paper in the ladies room. But the staff, OMG! Absolutely the kindest, gentlest, and most professional medical staff... And the gal who gave me my ultrasound, (Krista) could not have been nicer or more reassuring. 4/13/2022 Halo Diagnostics - Palm Springs I went in for a MRI at 4:30 pm, filled out paperwork for a 1/2 hour, and waited another 25 minutes before going back. The guy at the front was kind. No problem with customer service. I have to say, I've been hearing about the horrible experiences with this place, even hearing about the MRI (open) machine not working. Well, I get settled and I lie down. The guy says nothing about the plastic guard that fits around the abdomen fastening or not. It seemed to work fine for the man before me. The process starts and I can feel that I'm not able to take a full breath because my stomach is hitting the guard. I hear the guy saying, "Something is wrong. I'll be right there!" He fidgets with something and goes back to the station and we try again. I'm lying there, and I go to take a breath because I get claustrophobic, and my belly hits the guard and I hear the guy again, "I'll be right there." He tells me they've been having a problem with the machine, and something was fixed, but he thought it was the latching mechanism that wasn't working, that kept lifting and coming unplugged every time my stomach would hit the guard when I took a breath. He said, "We might not be able to your MRI!". I thought to myself, "I should have listened to the reviews, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. It was a no go. They reimbursed my $372.00 co-pay and said they'll call me to reschedule. The open MRI machine is old apparently, and they're not putting money into a new one because they're going to be building a new building near Denny's that will have a new MRI machine. The guy said he'll inform his manager about what happened and that he was embarrassed. He really was sorry, and I just said, "Things happen". Luckily I live in Palm Springs, so I didn't have to drive far. He was concerned if I had to drive far. He did let me know I can go to Indio, and asked me if I'm claustrophobic, I think because he could have used a closed MRI. I do get claustrophobic. I cannot stand that plastic guard around the abdomen, where if you have the slightest belly, you can't really take a deep breath. I was getting imaging of my lumbar region. I've decided to put it off because my lower back isn't bothering me now. I highly suggest finding somewhere else to get your MRI. I'm sure other imaging is fine, but who knows? I'm switching to Eisenhower from Desert Family Practice. Every place I've been referred to by DFP has been very lackluster. Sometimes I feel like the healthcare in Palm Springs is like a Third World Country. I felt grateful for the top-notch healthcare in Seattle, that I really miss. I've had nothing but great experiences with Eisenhower. These reviews are here for a reason. Use your own judgement. My first CT scan ever. Check in was fast and friendly. There was a problem with my paperwork - my physician's error. Rhonda made a couple phone calls and straightened it all out. Melinda was my tech. She explained the procedure and answered the questions I had. The best part: I was in and out in 20 minutes. I don't know about HALO's other locations but Palm Springs is the best. read more

I've had many CT scans in my life. For some people, the experience can be overwhelming. In my opinion, HALO Diagnostics, Palm Springs, earns 5-stars for making even the faint-o-heart relax and feel welcome. Ronda on the front desk is knowledgeable & professional with just the right amount of friendliness. She and her computer are amazing! Next, the Technician, Melinda, takes you back to be scanned. I had to have the scan w/contrast. Melinda did what many professionals cannot do. She inserted the needle so perfectly I barely knew she had done it! Great job, Melinda! I barely have any mark on my arm compared to the large bruise I usually come away with. Sometimes it is a bit scary during the scanning process because you are alone with this machine that seems like it is trying to eat you. Melinda was so busy running in and out in between sets that I didn't really think about being alone. She is totally in-tune with her patient . So 5-Stars HALO Diagnostics in Palm Springs!! Now that Halo has taken over the DMI site in Palm Springs, My annual visit for an MRA scan was a nightmare. I use a walker and have other mobility issues and they told me to sit in an open dressing room till they were ready. 30 minutes later, still sitting. Gave my valuables to my husband since there were no lockable facilities available. Check in required completion of an extremely long set of questionairres, handed to me upon entry. No attempt to have these done in advance through email and my Parkinson's prevents me from writing legibly. Again, thank goodness for my husband. I asked the MRI tech if she would help me off the platform after the test and her response was "not with my back". Luckily I was able to make it off on my own. Needed the rest of the day to recuperate! read more

The first time I had an MRI & the office is not so big the first thing I did was to fill up the information which took several minutes I was helped by the Receptionist to fill up & corrected the things she needed the receptionist was helpful & told me the things needed in the MRI room she even helped me to wear the gown to wear in the MRI room very nice gestures of the Receptionist way beyond expectations Good job read more

So first, let me say that the office staff and the MRI technician at this location are amazing. So friendly and outgoing. I felt comfortable the whole time I was there. Now, the reason for the one star review. When I had my MRI, they told me it would take about 3 days. So I called on the third day and they told me the report wasn't ready. Fine, I wasn't too upset. They told me to call Thursday. I called Thursday, they told me they were going to put an expedited marking on it and to call again tomorrow. Called Friday, told me the same thing again and to call Monday. Called today, it is still not ready. Mind you, I am in a lot of pain. Never in my life have I had an MRI take this long. And I've had numerous MRIs (I've had two different procedures now). At this point, I'm crossing my fingers its done for my follow up with my doctor on Wednesday. I understand things come up (emergencies, etc.), but do not continually tell me to call the next day over and over again. And tell me there is an expedited marking. Only this AM did I get an explanation for the delay, something I should've been told the other three times I called. read more

I was told you show up a 1/2 hour before my appointment and hour Later I was still sitting in the waiting room and finally get the receptionist Chelsea's attention. Asking why am I still sitting in the waiting room one hour after my scheduled appointment which I scheduled over a month ago. She said oh I'm sorry. On top of that once I got in there it was going to take another 30 minutes. They were just moving me around stalling because they were behind schedule which everybody on Yelp has reviewed them and they have poor reviews. This is why I want to take the time to write this review maybe saving someone else from all the stress they caused me today I left the building without my mri Please there are so many other places out there you can go please do not choose them. I have had two great experiences at this office, and can't say enough about Lisa, their MRI technician...she is awesome!! So, if you are claustrophobic, as I am, this is the place for you. My first experience was several months ago when I got injured at work, and although my doctor's office scheduled me to go somewhere else this time when another MRI was needed, I asked to go back to D.M.I. in Palm Springs, and was so pleased to have Lisa again. It's an art form to make someone feel comfortable during an MRI, but she has it down to a science! DESERT MEDICAL IMAGING HATES PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES!!!! It's pretty terrible how the staff treats patients with disabilities. I had to call to reschedule unfortunately multiple times due to unexpected medical problems and pain that prohibited me from going to my appointment. I am appalled at the fact the receptionist Mary is so cold one day and so warm the next. I've been a receptionist and worked in customer service and let am say this lady needs a refresher course on people relations. She refused to make me another appointment and could care less about what I have to ensure on daily basis, even when I had to pick my son up from school due to an injury and take him to the hospital? I can barely walk and my pain level is at a 10 everyday I feel like I'm dying. How dare you try to make a patient feel bad for not showing up for an MRI due to unforseen circumstances!! Shame on you Mary and shame on your whole management for not having compassion for people with disabilities! At this point I'd rather go else where for my MRI.. read more

My husband, various family members and I have had numerous MRIs and CT scans done at DMI. We have also had them read the images done at other facilities. We have always been treated well by the staff. The Doctors who read the images are extremely meticulous and have found problems not found by other doctors. Accurate interpretation of testing has been crucial in our achieving improved health. As to some of the negative reviews, unfortunately, in all businesses, you just can't make some people happy. If you want excellent results and accurate reporting of your images, DMI is the imaging center you want to use. read more

Shut this place down. With the first appointment of the day it took over 2 hours to finish an MRI. First they said they needed to retake the images over and over and over and over because the MRI machine is not working right. You're taking images of a brain tumor with a piece of junk machine, am I the only person that thinks this is a massive liability? Next the tech couldn't find a vein for contrast, if it takes you 4 needle pokes and digging to find a vein I think you need to find a different line of work. read more
