I can not say enough wonderful things about Oakdale and the care they provide. I've seen several…read moreclinic doctors, worked with Kim the Dietitian and Charet the physical therapist and feel that their comprehensive approach and "team work" nature serves patients in the very best way possible. Dr. Matthew Palmer is my primary at the clinic and after 12 years of poor treatment from another well-known clinic in the Twin Cities Dr. Palmer diagnosed me with stage 3 endometriosis and completed a comprehensive laparoscopic excision surgery. He is a true surgical genius and recognized nationally for his training and expertise in endo and excision. I have referred several patients to seek his care and everyone has left feeling "heard" for the first time in their lives. My husband and our families enjoy his soft spoken, kind and sensitive approach. I have never met a doctor who listens the way Dr. Palmer does. I also think a very unique feature of this clinic is their "team" approach to your care. Dr. Palmer is the endo/excision specialist but when we were facing infertility he referred us to Dr. McEvoy at the clinic who is the resident "fertility expert." I found this approach incredibly refreshing and it proved once more that Dr. Palmer is focused on providing the best patient care NOT his ego. Like any business I've had a couple bumps with trying to schedule things or a receptionist who may have been having a bad day, but the care here is second to none and we are all human. I'm there so often many of the nurses say hello by name and they truly make me feel at home no matter which location I visit.

Got caught in what gadgets, services to make easy money but left out a few steps. Doesn't study aging women's needs like thought he was. Caught him in a few yellow lights that even though I appreciated all done for me, time to drop going there. Example: Visit is for 1 topic, when I got to weight loss, how my pee poops skipped over to promote a daily drink no one had read the ingredients .. was is gluten free. Honest staff and physician just not revealing potential useful information. There are people with a lot of common sense they haven't heard of .. like PBS Judith Wrightman.. not sure I got the last name spelling right. Dr. Amen about brain health are just 2. No mention of how grief support or being prepared is important. Was told he would make an area more male friendly then that didn't happen. He has males that at least accompany the females coming. I was hospitalized, went well, it could've gone better and was not given any reports, clinic notes to make any future hospital experience less upsetting and more pleasant. Having a PCP not mentioned and some of what was promoted there clashed with the common sense at a primary physician visit. There is potential at this clinic to be awesome yet they might forego it for what's easiest and safest financially. What they don't realize is a few tweeks would achieve concerns, be cheaper, turn them into an exceptional, very needed service provider niche.

Doctor is great. I followed her for care from Allina…read more However, billing and business office are very troubling. There seems to be a disconnect with insurance company- Blue Cross- and this clinic. Copays are not correctly billed, turning into a real headache to get it corrected.

As in it took me 6 months to see someone purely due to mistakes on their end. Also I just saw my doctor and she refused to spell the name of my suspected disorder for me or put it in the virtual visit chat, despite my hearing loss. She assured me that a 3rd party provider would make the information available to me, so it wasn't necessary. the 3rd party provider who she works with a lot won't give it to me for another month, and nobody at the clinic will call me back to give me the name of the disorder, or give me the report the person I'm being referred to will need, or even tell me where I can sign a release to have that send over. I'm told it may be days before anyone gets back to me even about the name of the disorder. Absurd. I expected some delays and lateness from a respected specialist in a small field. I didn't expect significant barriers on every single contact. Happy to have my referral and move on. EDIT: Finally got the name of the thing she was referring me for and it's a form of dwarfism and has nothing to do with any of my reported symptoms. I'm above average height. So either she didn't even google the thing or she knows it's absurd doesn't care. The report also suggested I may have the thing I was trying to see the doctor about initially, but she LAUGHED at my noting that the symptoms had changed in the past year and refused the diagnosis, or even referrals for physical therapists who know about the general category of problem I'm having. I suggest avoiding.

I called the office explained the situation and was connected to the nurse station voice mail. I left a message right around 4pm on a Friday, received a call same day asking me to come in on Monday for labs. Fast forward 3+ months later and I'm still seeing those docs as i'm currently pregnant. I've had several appointments here for lab work, doc visits and ultra sounds. I never have had to wait long in the waiting room or to be seen by a doc. They run a pretty smooth ship. I have had one appointment mix up that the office apologized for, however beyond that I have had no issues. The docs are WONDERFUL! I have seen 2 in the practice and spoke to a 3rd that was on call and have nothing but wonderful things to say about everyone in this office. I would highly recommend this practice.

By 8:15 the lab still wasn't open. The front desk staff checked and said several employees were running late due to the weather, which is understandable, but they also mentioned there were supposed to be five people working and they couldn't reach anyone. Around 8:30 a staff member opened the lab window but didn't turn on the lights or acknowledge the three of us waiting in the lobby. At 8:40 I went back to the front desk to ask if they knew when someone would be available. The staff member from the lab came out and said she was the only one there and that we should have come to the window or rung the bell. With no lights on and no acknowledgment to us waiting, this was confusing to all of waiting. Instead of addressing the misunderstanding, the lady became defensive. She mentioned she could do the blood draw, yet at that point I chose to cancel my appointment. I was not comfortable with her performing the lab work. Another staff member showed up minutes after who helped cancel the appointment. What made the situation more frustrating was that by then it appeared there were at least two people in the back while patients with 8:00 AM appointments were still waiting without acknowledgment. The front desk staff were very kind and helpful, but the experience in the lab area showed poor communication and customer service. After two negative experiences, I would not recommend this clinic.

I had Dr Pettit with my first pregnancy and am now trusting her to deliver my second this January…read more She is kind, thorough, efficient, laid back, and knowledgeable. I appreciate that she saves time for me to ask questions, allayed my fears, supported every choice I made (choosing not to do genetic testing, not taking many/any classes, wanting an epidural). She called me out when I was gaining weight a little to fast -- just told me to be careful. I'm SO GLAD she didn't tiptoe around it, drew it to my attention, then praised me in the following weeks that the weight gain had tapered. As a first time mom who is pretty laid back, I needed guidance but not chiding which is exactly what Dr Pettit provided. I had one experience with contractions that came on that I thought were the real deal (they weren't) that led me to call the after hours line to talk to a Dr. The Dr on call (not Dr Pettit) was super kind, helpful and walked me through a few questions to help me decide whether or not to go in to the hospital (I didn't end up going). Even though it was 3AM, this person wasn't my dr, she still treated me with respect and helped me. My delivery was pretty uneventful until my son was actually born -- he wasn't breathing at all. Dr Pettit could see that I was visibly distressed and talked me through what was happening while she was stitching me up. She assured me that this was pretty normal, that they were doing everything they could and that I should trust the process. She was so right. And I'm glad that she saw my fear and talked me through it. The new offices on 6565 France are BEAUTIFUL. The reception area is welcoming, plenty of places to sit. There's a small play area in case you have an older child with you. It's not the end all be all, but it's very nice that Associates in Women's Health is a technologically advanced office. You get blood results quickly. I knew the day I took my 1 hr glucose test before I even left the office that I failed and needed to come back for the 3hr. If you're hunting for a practice to call home- try Associates in Women's Health. I've had nothing but great experiences in my 2 years seeing them.

I switched to AWH after having a terrible experience with a miscarriage at another clinic. I…read moreexperienced a second miscarriage while at AWH and Allie Rodriguez, PA, was wonderful, caring, and provided good patient education. I saw Allie again for an annual check up and during my next pregnancy, and she is my favorite part about this clinic and I would recommend her services and care - I wish she could have been my OB. Other service providers at the clinic have been okay or disappointing. The front desk tends to be awkward. Only Tiffany tends to make eye contact and acknowledge your presence upon arriving - the others will not acknowledge you, so you can't tell if they are so engrossed in their work that they haven't seen you or if they are intentionally ignoring you. If you walk up to them or speak you get the "we'll be with you in a moment" - cool, just say that next time so I'm not wondering. Going to the doctor is a stressful experience for many and this cold welcome doesn't help. I was very anxious during my pregnancy because of my two previous miscarriages. The ultrasound techs were always wonderful and would tell you what they saw and what they were doing. The OBs themselves are kind of all over the place. You can't choose which provider will deliver your baby, so I opted not to see a single provider and instead meet all of them at least once so that I'd have a touch of familiarity on delivery day. I got okay to good impressions of all of the doctors during those visits except for Dr. Goodman who sped through "fat facts" - the things I was likely to experience or be at risk for being overweight and pregnant. While I do expect individualized medical care, what disappointed me was that she started out by apologizing for telling me these things (no one is more aware that I am fat than I am - have been my whole life, don't need an apology for sharing information if you believe it's important for me to have informed care). She then sped through the information, which included induction at 39 weeks, and I was so shocked that I opted to end the appointment rather than ask questions. I was still early in the pregnancy and just hoped to make it past the first trimester. There wasn't much notable about the other docs - they'd answer my questions and were not likely to offer up much info otherwise. The clinic was nice about me coming in between appointments to listen to the heartbeat to lessen my anxiety. The final straw was delivery day when Dr. Pettit swept my membranes without informed consent. I'm not saying I wouldn't have taken her expert medical advice, but you should tell me what you're doing to my body before you do it. After my final postpartum check up, I'm done with AWH.
