We have been using Martin Halloran for years. We have a very complex return as we have been partners in several businesses and are now retired. They are still complex. He has also given us excellent advice to help us save further. I moved from North Carolina to Tenn and still us him annually. He is an honest and credible man. I would never go to anyone else as he is someone you can trust. I always feel for the work he does that he does not charge enough. I would steer clear of this firm! Their website states that they strive for professionalism and taking the guess work out of financial planning. HA HA I think not!. It is now October and I am still waiting for my tax return with no help from Marty. He tells me that sometimes we just have to wait. How long do I need to wait?!?! Apparently, I need to wait until next April 15. I was then told that he can not contact them because he does not have power of attorney for me. So on June 30, 2011 I gave him POA. I have the email right in front of me. Two days ago when I called him about the status of my money he said that he couldn't talk to them for me because he didn't have POA for me. WHAT DID I GIVE HIM IN JUNE?!?!?!?! Apparently, my issues or account are of no real concern to him. A direct quote from his website: "Unlike some tax preparers, we are open year round, ready to assist our clients with whatever issues may arise. We strive for a personal touch in our business, offering face to face meetings and consultations. Our goal is to make sure our client understands how income taxes and accounting methods affect their personal and business life." His total lack of interest into my tax issue shows me that he has no real concern as to how my personal life has been affected. I have received no updates, no emails, no phone calls, not one thing from him. I am the one always calling him to check the status. We trust Mr. Halloran with our personal tax prep, but he also volunteered his help with the dog rescue we run. When it became my job as one of the officers of this charity to ensure that the 990EZ (which is...NOT...easy!) was submitted to the IRS, Halloran offered to do it for our 501(c)3. We sincerely appreciate it, and we will continue to use his services for our personal tax prep and financial planning. read more

I found this firm on Dave Ramsey's website and I trusted the referral. But here we are in December waiting for our taxes. We noticed that our address was wrong on our taxes and told Martin before we signed it. I am not sure how but we got our state taxes but never our Federal. By May I called him and just then he noticed that he filled it with our old address, asked us to fill out a form and that he was going to fix it. I waited a good 2 months then called the office and was told that corrections take longer, that I just needed to wait. Last month I contacted him again and he told us to fill out another form. I just called IRS and they told me that there are no corrections or any forms have been filled for our account, all they know is that the refund was mailed back in June. How can anyone do that to people, Dave Ramsey has christian values why are you recommending lying, unprofessional people? I am so disgusted PLEASE DO NOT TRUST THIS OFFICE, you will regret it. I believed that human errors occurs but lying is unacceptable. read more
