Worst experience I could have conceivably had closing on a house as sellers with Knipp Law. We were…read morescheduled to close on the house we were purchasing at the same time and day as the closing of the selling of our home, so we had our own attorneys prepare the paperwork sent to them by Knipp and overnight the paperwork to them after we signed all the documents, along with emailing Knipp a copy of our closing attorneys wire transfer instructions. After signing all the paperwork for the closing of the home we were purchasing, we waited for Knipp to file the sale with the register of deeds so they could wire the proceeds from our sale to our closing attorneys. 2 hours after closing, we received an email from our attorneys stating that Knipp had just sent them a document for us to sign that they had forgotten to include in the original package. We signed electronically and our attorneys sent the document back to Knipp. An hour later, still no word that the wire transfer had gone through. We decided to call Knipp ourselves to see what the filing status was on the sale of our house. The paralegal handling our case told us that it had been filed with the register of deeds and they were awaiting confirmation that the deed had been recorded. Knipp also informed us that they were awaiting the wiring instructions for the proceed of our sale. When I reminded the paralegal that we had sent the wiring instructions several days ago, she told me that wiring instructions sent through email were not accepted, and needed to be sent through a secure messaging platform. Neither my wife and I, nor our attorneys had been informed of this; for some reason Knipp did not seem to think it was important to let us know that a specific method of communicating wiring instructions was necessary after we had sent them those instructions over email. After sending the wiring instructions, we waited for about 15-30 more minutes before my wife thought to call the Register of Deeds to see if Knipp had filed everything correctly, as we didn't have much faith in them at this point. Upon speaking with someone in the Register of Deeds, my wife discovered that not only had the sale not been recorded, it was not even showing up in their system. The sale thankfully popped up as my wife was on the phone with the Register of Deeds. Not sure why Knipp seemingly chose to lie to us about the state of our filing, nor keep us waiting around for THREE HOURS after our closing. Comically poor communication and clear indifference as to whether my wife and I were inconvenienced. Wish I could give 0 stars. Avoid Knipp Law like the plague.

Extremely disappointed with this law firm. If you are going through a divorce in North Carolina, do…read moreyourself a favor and look elsewhere. I was referred to this firm by a friend in the summer of 2025. During my initial consultation, the attorney made sure to emphasize how long, ugly, and drawn-out the process could get once my ex lawyered up. I explained that my ex and I had already worked out the details ourselves and simply needed them to draw up the final paperwork. Because it was clear I wasn't going to be a high-revenue, long-drawn-out battle, that was the last time I ever spoke to the actual attorney. I was immediately passed off to the paralegals and forgotten. The office drafted paperwork littered with typos and inconsistencies. As someone who has never been divorced before, I had no idea what to expect. This divorce was sudden, unexpected, and utterly heartbreaking for me. While I understand law firms deal with this daily and can become desensitized to the emotional toll, this firm failed at the absolute bare minimum: communication. At no point did they bother to explain the entire legal process or outline what steps would happen next. Once the initial paperwork was done, I was told I had to wait a full year under North Carolina law. It was crushing, but I complied. They assured me they would reach out to me in July of 2026. July came and went. I anxiously waited for a call that never arrived, forcing me to follow up myself. Only then did they inform me that I needed to formally serve my ex with papers--something that should have been proactively communicated and prepared for. Next, I was told a hearing would need to be scheduled, which could take 30 to 60 days, but that I didn't need to attend. The hearing was set for Monday, September 14th. Again, I heard absolutely nothing from the firm. After traveling for work, I finally reached out the following week to ask how it went. I was shocked to learn the hearing didn't even happen because the firm had put the incorrect courtroom number on a legal document. They casually told me not to worry and that they would just reschedule, showing zero regard for the emotional weight this delay placed on me. The final straw came after the divorce was supposedly finalized. I was desperate to change my last name--carrying it felt like a daily reminder of the worst chapter of my life. The firm assured me that the Social Security office would accept the electronic divorce judgment. I took time off work and drove 40 minutes to the office, only to be told that electronic copies are absolutely not acceptable and that they required a certified physical copy. At every single turn, this law office has made careless mistakes, provided terrible guidance, and demonstrated a complete lack of competence or empathy. For them, it's just a job, but for their clients, it is their life. I hope anyone reading this benefits from knowing what to look out for in NC, and avoids hiring this reckless firm.

Title: Exceptional Legal Support in Challenging Times…read more I found myself in an emotionally challenging marriage last year, and when it came to separating, I initially aimed to do so without legal involvement. However, circumstances changed, and I needed assistance. That's when I was referred to LeAnn Lancaster and her practice. I've had the privilege of working with both Hilary and LeAnn, but it's LeAnn who has truly gone above and beyond. I want to express my gratitude for her and the entire team, including Sam and Maura. During a legal separation, dealing with child support, custody, and all the intricacies of the legal system can be overwhelming, especially for someone unfamiliar with it!! Despite having many clients, LeAnn has consistently made me feel like a priority, whenever we spoke. She and her team have made me feel safe, valued, and supported throughout this challenging journey. It's like being part of a caring community of professionals who genuinely want the best for me. When it was time to go to court, I was SCARED! I didn't know what to expect. LeAnn's confidence and expertise shone through. Her preparation and professionalism were evident, and I felt reassured. Even though I wasn't familiar with the court system or what to say during the proceedings. LeAnn and her staff guided me every step of the way, and for that, I am immensely grateful. I want to address some negative comments I have seen online about LeAnn and her practice. There's no way she should have 3stars. If you're considering working with her, know that she goes above and beyond to handle things behind the scenes, relieving you of unnecessary stress. Trust in her expertise, and you'll find peace, comfort, and assurance that you and your children will be taken care of. Though my case is not yet closed, I felt compelled to share my experience in this review. I can't stress enough the impact LeAnn and her team have had on my life. If I had a ton of money, I'd give her a million, but what I can do is leave this heartfelt post to encourage anyone seeking legal representation to consult with LeAnn and her team. Don't solely focus on a few negative comments; experience the support, care, and dedication firsthand - get a consultation before making your decision. Thank you, LeAnn, for everything you've done and continue to do. Your professionalism and genuine concern for your clients make all the difference. With profound appreciation, Brown Barbie
