I am not sure why this listing shows that the store is closed, as it is not closed. However, I believe the store is now under different management or more tied to corporate. In any case, despite my longtime patronage of this location, it has really gone downhill in recent years. The selection of t-shirts, candles, and other gift items has expended but the card selection is considerably limited and/or aisles are nearly empty without adequate stock. I've returned and observed the same types of items continuously out of stock over months long periods. The customer service here is also hit or miss depending on the associate. Overall, unless you need a highly specific type of greeting card, you would be better served either ordering from Hallmark online or going to virtually any convenience store as they have many of the same Hallmark cards, even those that are higher end. read more

While we were waiting for her to come back, EVERY staffer who walked past asked if we were being helped. We felt well attended and welcomed. read more

I like this Hallmark because of the size and various items they carry however it must've undergone a change in ownership because the people that work there now are kids. Literally all of them seem like they're 22/23 years old and not very knowledgeable. Today there was only one girl working the register and she rang the bell several times to have someone come help her because people were waiting in line. Finally after the third time of the bell THREE girls come out from the back. What the hell??? I also asked about a marshmallow pillow looking cat and asked about a discount because it was slightly torn. The "manager" or lead whatever she is said I couldn't have it even if I wanted to pay full price. She said it has to go back to the mfgr and it's not for sale. When you were stocking did you NOT notice the cuts in the fabric? The only thing the manufacturer is going to do is toss it. She wasn't very nice about things. When children run a store, they don't know customer service very well. The girl who rang me up was very nice though. I was surprised at how big this Hallmark store was - inside, you can see jewelry, Vera Bradley products, beaded bracelets, purses, ornaments, figurines, mugs, small-item gifts, stuffed animals, as well as an extensive collection of greeting cards. In this age of eCards, I still enjoy shopping for greeting cards at Hallmark Stores. This location has a good selection of greeting cards for all occasions. With the attached gift store, you can easily spend an hour browsing for cards and gifts. read more

This Hallmark Store has the neatest gifts as well as the best cards. I'm sad that the Hallmark in my hometown closed (Ruth's Hallmark in Summerville SC). However, I'm happy this one is still open and buy cards and gifts here when I'm up here for work. Please support these small franchises at this time. In an era when e-cards and text msgs would seem to put a card shop out of business, I've enjoyed seeing this one evolve with the times and have some staying power. Only about a quarter of the shop is cards. The rest of the space is taken up with gift items of every sort. From cheerful tote bags and delicate if a tad impractical wine glasses to stuffed animals, collectible figurines, and even color changing Crocs sandals. For those occasions where I have clearly no clue what to get someone for whatever occasion, I know I can come here and find something. read more

Great service at this hallmark location. I learned all about their holiday ornaments and holiday card deals from an amazing associate. I felt so welcome in the store and probably purchased more items than I would have if the representative wasn't so friendly. The staff here is also very responsive to questions and put me on a wait list for ornaments that are already out of stock. Can you believe it? Huge store! Nice selection of cards, candles and knicknacks. Disappointed they stopped their military discount. Cashier stated they stopped in the beginning of year but I pop into this shop every 6-8 weeks after my son's haircut at Bradlee's Barber shop and received discount several times this year. read more

They just stared at me trying to pick an overpriced (not their fault) Vera Bradley wallet from their poor selection the other day so I finally decided to leave and go to her website directly. Be advised, if you buy anything from Hallmark online they make it impossible to return it, probably by design. They have you submit a return, have someone agree to let you do so, then say they will snail mail you a return label in 10 days. Well, 10 days has come and gone and no label. So back to customer service where you have to ask why can't they just email you a label for you to print and attach? Don't buy anything if you think there's the remote chance you may to return. I had two online delivery items shipped to the store. I received a call that both items had arrived. Great. I went to the store to pick them up. Got item one just fine. Kid had trouble finding box two. Guessed that it "just hadn't arrived yet," despite the fact that I got a call, had online information, and a note on the box confirming it was box one of two. Kid walks away and starts helping other customers. Another kid comes the the counter and stares and me awkwardly. After I realize he's not there to help me track down my other box, I ask if he would like me to move? He replies yes, so he too can help other customers. Meanwhile, I'm shoved off to the side, with no one helping me find my other box. I was finally able to figure out the problem (the other store shipped it under no last name - what was that even?). I was finally able to flag down the original kid to go to the back and grab the second box, but not before he helped two other customers first. Having worked in a gift store of a similar nature for many years, I'm appalled at the nonchalant customer "service" and lack of effort to try and problem solve. Clearly the second box was somewhere in the store. Why I had to play detective on their mistake is beyond me. Next time I'll just pay for the shipping, even though it was more than the items themselves. I certainly won't plan to visit for in person purchases in the future. read more

You can never go wrong with a Hallmark store, they literally have everything you need. This comes in handy especially if you're a 'card/stationary person'. I used to frequent the Tyson's location but since they closed and this is in my neighborhood, I go here often. What I love most is the fact that you earn points with every purchase, since I'm a couponer at heart this works out for me. On my most recent visit I was able to see that they have added a section that sells Alex and Ani bracelets. This new addition is pretty cool and it means you won't have to step into the jungle (the mall). I will definitely be back probably within this week of me writing this because I have a few coupons to use up. read more

Hallmark's ecard business is worthless and their Customer Service WORSE! . For more years than I can count my wife and I (and other family members) have purchased Hallmark cards. Recently when I was out of state and Mother's Day just days away I enrolled in Hallmark's ecard business. What a DISAPPOINTMENT! I created and 'sent' a personalized card. Shortly thereafter I received acknowledgement of it being sent. Problem is it was NEVER RECEIVED! It has been a month - still not received... Today I contacted Customer Service, it was an exercise in futility. They say 'sent', but not 'viewed'. Huh, what ? are you serious ? I was told NO REFUND, but would not be charged after my one month service period. Net / net - no Mother's Day card received (to my wife of 39 years and Mother of our 4 children) but charged monies for no service... do you want to take this chance ??? read more

Talk about good customer service. When I need to look for a card, stationary, calendars. ornaments, little knicknacks, even jelly bellys, hand or body lotions, trinkets.....I always know where to go.....Hallmark Creations, Bradlee Center #44 in Alexandria, VA. I recommend this store to all my friends. Sometimes I go there just to look around because it makes me feel happy. Everyone there is so friendly like a family. I wanted to acknowledge some workers I came in contact with over the weekend. Everyone in the store has been very nice to me; but wanted to give a SHOUT OUT to Sofia for helping me with White House Ornaments that were in the back stock room. There were only a few at the front registers and I needed a whole bunch. I always buy my ornaments from Hallmark Creations. She asked if she could look around for me and I said sure. So sweet she was. he came back out with a whole bunch in her arms, I could hardly see her face. We cracked up laughing. Sofia made my day. And then there is Erick. There was especially one time where I was at the register and a couple of the workers needed assistance and Erick was right there. One would ask him something and another would ask him something at the same time and he was right there with a helping hand and a little smile on his face. Typical guy smile. LOL. I was pretty impressed. And then there was Johanna. Being the supervisor; she sure was overseeing everything going on in the store. And I must say ..... she did a great job. This store is full of junk, with cards arranged in a way it's IMPOSSIBLE to find suitable cards. HUGE areas organized by "type of relative" or other categories irrelevant to me. Twice now, I've gone to get (last year) Christmas cards for dear friends that I wanted to be beautiful with a warm-hearted greeting...didn't find a single one, so gave up. This past week, I went back to find Thanksgiving cards, and they DIDN'T HAVE ANY...say what? 1.5 weeks before Thanksgiving? It's a huge store, but the cards are arranged so poorly. I spent about 45 minutes trying to find something that would work instead of Thanksgiving cards, finally got generic notecards I will doctor to make Thanksgiving. I won't be back to this store...MUST find a good greeting card store. I still send cards and I know recipients love them (when I can find holiday to send!!!!) Trader Joe's has great cards at reasonable prices, but mine doesn't carry holiday cards. read more

This store is a pretty large Hallmark store, and every time I was there it fulfilled my needs. It's well-stocked, the staff has been friendly, and they always have what I want and get me through the check out line with a smile. read more

This is by far my favorite Hallmark store I've visited so far. I ended up buying more cards than anticipated and I was tempted to buy small gifts on the side for a birthday and for Easter, as well. It is a great place to go, if you need a last minute card and/or gift. read more

I was the only costumer in the store and nobody bother to greet me at when I first got there. All the workers were on their phones and socializing with each other. I stayed in the store for about 15 minutes and nobody asked me if I needed help. As I was leaving I told them "thanks for the help" and they turned around and looked at me with a rude face. I don't want to review the store itself. I want to review on of the ladies who works there. It's a week before Christmas but this lady can ruin a mood of the happiest person. After I got what I wanted, unfortunately she was the one who I went to to pay. She was rude, very unprofessional, no smile at all, bossing me around when to pay, how to pay etc. If I ever go there again, I will make sure that I avoid her. The other young girls were friendly and helpful. This is a lady in her fifties probably, long hair that needs a makeover and she should add a smile and be polite to her customers. read more

FANTASTIC, HUGE store. They have cards for EVERY and I mean every occasion. I needed a card for something I wasn't even sure they sold cards for not only did they have it the salesperson was able to walk me to the sections the cards were in. They were very friendly and helpful. I was in a hurry too and they rung me up quickly. I wished I had time to walk around because they had a HUGE selection of gifts, yankee candles this would be one stop gift shopping. I will be going back there very soon to do some more shopping. I shopped at the Hallmark Creations store in Alexandria and found that for their their birthday cards that were marked as .99 cents on the sign got rung up at the counter for $3.49. Can you say bait and switch? I'll go to a Dollar store for those cards in the future. At least there I know when it says a dollar for the card, I'll get charged a dollar, not nearly four times what the sign said! read more
