Indigo - The entrance between Indigo and Starbucks is now open

    Indigo

The last time I was in this area, Indigo was still being developed. Three months later, it's nice…read moreto see that construction is done and Indigo is open. I was excited to visit the store before seeing an afternoon movie. When you first open the blue doors, the decor is pleasing to the eye. It's cozy. I walked immediately to the new books display and started reading Leonard Cohen's collection of poems. I love the electronics section, which has everything from Fitbit trackers to record players. Naturally, there are plenty of Kobo readers. I held my composure and did not buy another to add to my mini collection of two. The cookbooks section is divine. One of my favourite restaurants that I frequented a ton in Winnipeg, earls, has its own cookbook. I want it so badly! I love this Indigo. It's now my favourite one. There are plenty of areas where you can sit down and read. I love the knitted mittens and scarves that you can buy. The paper shop section screams my name, as I have a thing for picking out the most thoughtful card that I can to friends and family members. It's such an inviting place to spend some time. Starbucks has been open for a while here. I like that the designers knocked a wall down, so you can freely walk between Indigo and Starbucks. I will need to come back and get the panda personal humidifier, simply because it's so stinking cute! (356)

They didn't have what I wanted. However, it was very noisy. What I did like though was that there…read morewas a tiny table with many chairs where you could 'peacefully read'. I don't know if it was peaceful however because I didn't go there, but there were a couple people who made it seem peaceful enough. Ill give this Indigo a 3-star because it wasn't my best Indigo experience.

Canadian Clay & Glass Gallery - Kids colouring area

    Canadian Clay & Glass Gallery

What? Canadian Clay & Glass Gallery is an underrated spot! According to Wiki, this public gallery…read morehas been open since 1993, and when I was a student in the city, I didn't even know about this spot. However, it's a short stop next to Waterloo Park, showcasing mostly contemporary glass and clay pieces using 3D printing techniques. Many of the works displayed are from the University of Waterloo. Free entrance with a donations box at the door. You can zoom by here for as little as 15 minutes if you are tight on time. But ideally, a just over 30 minutes would be a relaxed place to explore the art pieces. They also have a little kids' colouring area and a gift shop. There is a range in prices from low, like $15-20~ for a small dish. Most pieces are low hundreds range or below, not cheap but also not an extortionate amount. You can check more of their inventory online too. Worth a visit if you're planning to hit up Waterloo Park anyways!

Me and my wife attended the claytime workshop at Canadian Clay & Glass Gallery. Unfortunately, our…read moreexperience was very poor. Firstly, the instructor seemed disinterested in organizing the workshop. Secondly, it took 2 months before we got an email about our items being available for pickup. We were asked to bring photo proofs and IDs for picking up the items. However, there was no verification. When we searched for our items, the prettiest one, which was my wife's birthday gift, was missing. Nobody at the gallery had any idea about how to help us. They gave us an email. We emailed and there was no response for a week. I called multiple times. The phone attendant, Kyla, was very rude in the response. And after one follow-up telling us that they can't do anything for us, they went AWOL. Extremely bad experience and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
