It's clean, staff are super friendly but keep to themselves unless you start a conversation (which I like - cause there is nothing worse than having an awkward conversation with someone cause your stuck there for a couple hours waiting on clothes). Machines are a little more expensive that other places around Dartmouth but they work the first time and if there is a problem the staff don't make excuses, they just do the right thing and you leave happy. I have been coming here weekly for about 6 months and have not had a bad experience so far. Definitely recommend this place... just not on Sundays cause I don't wanna have to wait for the machines lol.

So we decided to try out this place since my brother recommended it. It is not in the best area, but for the limited amount of "good and safe" choices for a laundromat in downtown Dartmouth, it is pretty decent. It is pretty big, with at least 12+ washers and dryers, plus industrial sized machines for linens and whatnot. The machines only take quarters and to wash it costs $1.50 (takes 27 minutes) and to dry it costs 25c per 4 min but because they are good quality dryers, it only takes about $1.25-$2.00 to completely dry a load, depending on the load size. Don't worry if you do not have quarters because the nice lady at the counter, who does the dry cleaning, has some. There are also places to sit and a drink machine/chip stand for those who want to buy something while waiting. It is open 7 days a week - we came on a Monday afternoon when it was not really busy but I would assume weekends can get pretty busy. We will come here from now on to do our laundry as it is not too far and we can get all of our laundry done in less than an hour and a half. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a good laundromat in the area.

I don't always agree with all of the Best Ofs in The Coast, but Daniel's Tailoring Shop is a…read morewell-deserved long-standing winner of the tailoring category. I'm actually a little bit shocked that it hadn't been reviewed yet when I dropped off a couple pairs of pants the other day! It's a small shop on the upper level of Park Lane Mall found from the main entrance by hopping on the escalators or stairs off to the right -it's in the main hallway. The head tailor here has been my go-to for alterations on any piece of clothing that I just can't have messed up. Typically, this means hemming pricy denims down to my Smurf-life height without having to worry about them coming back too long, too short, or looking like I hemmed them myself. For an extra cost ($20 rather than the normal $8 for a hem), they'll do a euro hem which makes the bottom of your jeans look professionally finished rather than just folded up and shortened. Definitely worth it if you've invested in a great pair to start with. Not only that, but the tailor actually cares about the work he's doing. He'll take your measurements as per usual, but he'll also ask about the shoes you wear, how you stand regularly, whether you like them to run long, etc. Even for a simple hemming, Daniel's makes sure that it's done to suit you specifically. On Saturdays, appointments can be made for consultations on more complicated jobs which I haven't done before, but I have witnessed the change in my friends' wardrobes after getting run through this shop. I can't wait to bring in some okay-fitting stuff and leave with perfection!
