That's probably part of the experience in some cases. Everyone working here seems to be either family or very close to each other. The owner is hands on working and guiding so you feel good having someone with experience and skin-on-the-game out there with you! This was a blast despite the day was really really cold. Highly recommended.

The snow was fresh and although it was -24, it was bearable with the extra blankets we brought. We booked a half-day experience; I'd recommend this because it took about an hour for Winterdance to get everything all set up, including carrying the dogs out of the transportation kennels, hooking them to the lines, and introducing them to their human teams. Since the dogs were so excited (imagine 50 dogs barking all at the same time!) it was a little hard to keep them all from bolting into the woods! There were ten teams who left at the same time, to go on the exact same track, so we couldn't really see how fast our dogs could go. Three of the teams were the Winterdance staff, who were interspersed between participants. We had to start and stop constantly because of the other teams, but I suppose it's also probably for our safety that they kept our dogs from going flying. Our team was comprised of male dogs, one of whom (shout-out to Garrett!) has done the epic week-and-a-half long Yukon Quest. This is touted as the "world's toughest race," so as you can imagine, after we finished our easy 2-hour run, he was still barking and pulling to go again. You can really tell that these dogs are doing what they love. Recommended experience but here are two tips: 1) use the washroom beforehand because Winterdance only has a frigid outhouse, and 2) when it was over, our GPS couldn't locate us to help us leave; pay attention to the landmarks on your way in!

The scenery was…read morebreathtaking, the steamship itself was a marvel, with its elegant vintage like design mix with few modern amenities. We passed some luxurious and humble lake house and cottages (that was the highlight). While the experience was lovely, I did not have much interaction with the staff beyond confirming our tickets. If you are looking for a unique and memorable experience, I would recommend the Muskoka Steamships. Whether you are a nature lover, history buff, or just looking for a relaxing day out, this is a greatt activity. For now, 4/5 only because we had not tried out their food options which is offered for additional price. So next time , that would be our goal. Tips: - Book in advance to ensure availability - Arrive early to explore the dock area - Bring a camera to capture the stunning views.

We were thankful that the boat had both indoor seating and outdoor seating as it was a chilly day. While we awaited the boat we shopped in the store which had an extensive collection of items made by local artists. What we liked: When asked questions the crew was knowledgeable. The boat was very pretty- much nicer than other boat tours we've done. They had a full bar and snacks for purchase. Lots of different views from the boat- three levels of I treating spaces. Plenty of seating. What we didn't like: From the website it looked like we would be enjoying a steamship. The boat we took was a diesel ship. It seemed like we would learn about local history of the area- but it was a prerecorded tour that was out of sync with what we were supposed to be looking at. This made it confusing and we were unsure of what we were supposed to notice. It was pricey for what it was. And there is an additional charge for the museum. Crew was moving furniture from the dining room for the carpet to be replaced. The tour felt like an imposition for the crew to get their work done on the boat. Not great pictures of the beautiful dining room because there were chairs stacked everywhere. There are many great museums in the area and lots of cool experiences, many that are free.. I wish we had skipped this one & spent time elsewhere.

Pedal Captain Andrew and safety guide Alex really took care of us and Andrew was an amazing hype man! We had a blast! The inital fee is just for the transportation and awesome entertainment going around the city. But being a part of the Pedal Party you get great discounts at the bars you stop at, including the Blue Moon that you start at. They ask that you arrive 30mins early but if you complete your waiver online you can get there around 5-10mins ahead. But come early if you're keen on having a few pints at Blue Moon with the discounted rate before your Pedal and chat with your new crew. You won't be going back to your starting point but you'll end up a bar where you can take your time and enjoy good company. This was a great way to meet new people and check out bars I'd normally wouldn't step into unless I happened to be in the area Googling. I highly recommend this for any occasion! Pedal safe, party hard! TIP: Helmet is optional but you'll HAVE to wear it the whole time if you ask for one. Bring some cash to tip the crew! But you can also scan a QR code to pay them online.
