This place is pretty awesome as a destination for a long weekend getaway for a large group of people (10 people); it comes pretty much equiped with everything one might need to have a cozy comfortable house party with friends.
2 bedrooms that sleep 2 couples, the 3rd bedroom can sleep 5 people and then you have a downstair rec room, with two additional sofa beds that can sleep up to another 2 people.
It comes equipped with Bell satellite TV and wi-fi (although I found that I rarely used it this entire long weekend), plus a shuffleboard table, as well as some board games, with a bbq and fire pit as well, in addition to the dock and lake access just across the road.
I will say that the place can get pretty stuffy at night with almost 11 people inside the cottage, and it doesn't have any AC but you learn to deal, plus with the sounds of the crickets and a handful of ceiling fans helped a bit.
The owners are pretty flexible and provide a very clean and comfortable place to stay in Haliburton and with the town of Haliburton just about 10 minute drive from the place, you're pretty much close to everything.
Cool things to note: go around the lower cottage as the hill to get up to the upper cottage is pretty steep, it's much easier to go in front of the lower cottage and drive around.
Driving to Heilemann Heights, Don't turn into the entrance where the Jehovah Witness Hall is, as that road is pretty terrible to drive on.
As you are driving into Midden, there is a Kawartha Dairy store, stop by and pick up some ice cream if you can, since from there you are only about another 15 min. drive to the cottage.
Take the time to go down to the dock at night to stargaze, the view is amazing and it's quiet.
There is an additional freezer in the laundry room (fully sized washer and dryer, should you need one), plus an assortment of foldable lawn chairs are also located in there.
Also they have tankless hot water meaning that you don't have to worry about someone using up all the hot water. read more
