If you are looking for a quick and easy get away without the hassle of packing your whole kitchen, I would highly recommend this resort. The accommodations are lovely and rustic. You are provided with everything you need as far as utensils and kitchen supplies, but the owners still let it be known numerous times that if we needed anything at all to let them know. They were beyond accommodating, and a real pleasure to deal with. This was our first time coming to West bay, and I have already booked for two more weekends this season. The cabin was adorable, and just what we needed. The cabins are dated, but definitely part of their charm. If you are looking for brand new state of the art cottage then you should check out the Hilton Hotels... However if interested in spending copious amounts of time outdoors enjoying a beautiful quiet lake, Spotless beach with safe water access, awesome hiking trails, and star filled nights.. On a scale of 1-10, you truly are a 25!…read more I've just returned from my 7th year in a row, week-long stay at Arowhon Pines, where perfection is the watchword, where attention to detail is evident at all levels, from the continuous renovations that blend into the environment so well you'd think they'd always been that way, to the lovingly prepared food always with a new twist every year, to the friendly and helpful housekeeping staff, to the hardworking kitchen and dining room staff; to the groundskeepers and maintenance men, whose invisible presence is felt in all the beauty, cleanliness and perfection around the property. Nothing is too much trouble for the approachable yet unobtrusive staff. I ate well, slept well, played well and worked well. Heaven couldn't possibly be more beautiful or more perfect. Coming back is always like coming home to an amazing family. It's my annual pilgrimage for rest, rejuvenation and restoration, while the Arowhon muse helps me write up a storm on my books and blog. It was delicious and scrumptious. The appetizers and desserts are the highlight for sure - there's sushi, chicken wings, sandwiches, a variety of dips and veggies, soup etc etc. For the entree, you can eat two entrees, so I got the steak and fish. The steak was great but the fish could use more seasoning. The desserts were so great - full selection from mousse to date squares. After the meal, you can sit outside in the balcony and it's truly beautiful. Algonquin Park at its finest. It was definitely one of the best meals I've had this year. We sat for too long and they shut off the lights at around 9:30pm for the main lodge and that was our cue to leave. :)

My friend and I spent a MAGICAL weekend last Spring at Erin's and are coming back again this Spring. And setting the intention that it will continue to be our annual tradition. The lake is large and beckons to be explored, including secluded estuaries teeming with life (great for skinny dipping also!), hiking trails within a few minutes' walk and friendly critters right on the property. However I have to do my duty and tell the truth, we have gone there almost yearly for a piece of peace and quiet in my favorite type of lifestyle which is canoeing, Kayaking, hiking, swimming, Sandcastle's on the beach, fresh air and exercise, and barbecued awesome food while looking at a stunning sunset -it faces exactly west on one of the quietest most deserted likes I've ever been on, we never ever see any boats on there or any other tourists...from our own private dock with a roaring fire in the hearth. Surrounded by Canadian nature and birds and butterflies and flowers that I have known and loved my whole life, and our incredible host Erin is absolutely the best, there's no way you could improve. The view from our deck was just amazing beautiful lake ~ we just loved it. The mobile home/cabin was really nice/clean/new and equipped with absolutely everything we needed to relax and enjoy the outdoors. The pool was also a hit with the kids - they loved fishing off the docks as well. The park itself is really clean and maintained very nicely by the family who owns the park. I would definitely recommend this to any family who would like to get away to the lake this summer- its a wonderful destination that we truly enjoyed and will go to again!

The only problem is the water is a tad yukky on the bottom but the seems to be the case for the whole lake.
