This is a great outdoor space for teens and kids. There is a separate court closer to the lake, where there are 2 basketball courts. It is an all around fun spot to relax. Skateboarders are doing jumps and olleys over various steep obstacles, showing their boards and proficiency. Some make awesome high jumps and others narrowly avoid injury. If your idea of recreation is swimming or tennis, you'll have to go someplace else. If you want to walk, I guess you can walk the road through. A lot of the space is for well-maintained fields for soccer and baseball, with the largest having a grandstand. There's also a small playground, a basketball court or two, and a wooded area with picnic tables and grills. In the winter, skating and sledding and snowshoeing are available. Note that some of the fields and pavilions must be reserved using forms you can download, and more information is available at the Town of Moreau website.

If you love history paired with nature, this is a great place to visit! There's so much to do in…read morethe park and a lot of rich history to learn. If you run into a true Saratogian who grew up here, they will likely be able to tell you all about the features found in the park. If you're interested in staying directly in the park, the Gideon Putnam Resort and Spa is inside of the park to stay at! You can get a fantastic meal at the restaurant, enjoy the Victorian pool or even get spa treatments at the Roosevelt Baths. The golf course is also a great course at a reasonable price. The state park is also the home of a small production play theatre (directly behind SPAC). There is a famous amphitheater that you can always catch Dave Matthews at in the summer (Saratoga performing arts Center). If you're interested in natural healings, there are multiple springs (including one that tastes like normal water) that residents and visitors alike bring jugs to get fresh water at. The walking trails are wonderful and in some areas, there are mini waterfalls as well. In the winter, this park is great for cross country skiing. If you enter into the park and pay the entry fee, you can go to the Peerless pool which is gigantic! Quite a few pavilions you can also rent for reunions or large parties. One thing is for sure, there's usually somewhere for every type of person.

So the State Seal Spring is the marquee destination here, but for something worse-tasting but more unique the Geyser spring is within the same structure. Unfortunately the Charlie spring near the SPAC entrance wasn't flowing as of mid-December. The pine trees get five stars. I wish there were bathrooms available but that could be a seasonal thing. The park is technically reachable by bus but you might have to a wait a bit.

They do have same day pass options that brings the price down, we had one adult, a 4 y/o and a 9 y/o and paid $100 for a mid level pass. The food options are your typical hot dogs, pizza etc with a very, very chaotic system, we waited about 40 minutes whenever we had an order and as expected luke warm and lackluster. All in all the kids had fun, had lots to entertain them, but pricey for multiple visits.

There are 2 rinks - one is Olympic; the other is NHL-sized…read more Weibel is the larger rink on the left (when standing in the parking lot looking at both buildings). There's a snack shop, a few arcade games, some tables, benches and a skate rental area. Locker rooms are spacious and not terrible. Bathrooms are usually pretty clean. There's a separate area with a Boxing gym that has odd hours; I haven't been able to crack the code on that particular business...but the Boxing club is attached to the Weibel building. Vernon - the smaller rink on the right - is more bare bones. There are bleacher seats for spectators, four locker rooms and a couple of public bathrooms. The locker rooms in Vernon are smaller...but again...not awful. Showers in the locker rooms vary in Vernon. Sometimes there's hot water and decent pressure....sometimes not. The ice depends on the day and the zamboni driver. At the beginning of the season, the ice is amazing. This past weekend, it had lots of rivets and ponds. But compared to other rinks in the region, it's still a nice facility. They have open skate, stick and puck along with lots of local teams practicing and competing. There's plenty of parking and the rinks are conveniently located right between the big box stores of Wilton and downtown Saratoga Springs.

As a new skater, I was very worried about falling. They offer tables that they put on the ice that you can use to balance yourself. They do not charge you to borrow one of these tables for as long as you want it. I had never seen one of these tables before, but it was so helpful. I did not fall on the ice and I actually made it around the park a few times. I am really happy with the city of Albany for making this skating rink available, and at such reasonable prices. Way to go Albany!

Nice dog park, well maintained with secure fencing and plenty of poop bags for the dogs and garbage…read morecans. Only downside is the small dog area is very small, about a quarter of the size of a large dog area, so hard for energetic corgis to get their energy out because there's not a lot of room to run.
