The owner is very rude and the prices are too high. Will never golf there again. Not worth the money. Or drive.

One of the most beautiful public golf courses (voted number 1 or 2 in New England every year),…read moreTaconic offers tournament quality golf to anyone. The course is beautiful, with a manageable front and long back 9 (6500 yrs) from the middle tees. The course is open and even high handicap golfers will not lose many balls; there are really only a few spots on the course that are truly out of bounds. The staff is typically very friendly, Jeremy who manages the bag room is particularly nice. The pros are all great too. The whole place is well maintained, as they do host PGA (junior/womens) events from time to time. The greens play very fast towards the end of summer, and some of them slope in ways that will really frustrate anyone. Price-wise, the place is on the upper end if you have no college affiliation (about 140 or so) but is exceptionally cheap for students (35 dollars) so definitely a place to visit if you are in the area and still in school. The course truly cannot be recommended enough, and it offers some exceptional views of both the Williams College campus and the surrounding areas.

You could play it the rest of your life and never tire of it. The club is so extremely welcoming. They make you feel like a member. The locker room, the grill, the patio are all wonderful. The only thing better than a visit would be to be e member. It is, bar none, my favorite place to play golf.

If you find yourself in Saratoga for any reason at all (horses, golf, family, passing through,…read moreetc.), do yourself a favor and spend some time in the park. I've actually been to Saratoga several times before, and this was my first visit to the park, and it is BY FAR my favorite thing in Saratoga. The grounds are beautiful, and surprisingly large. The large buildings that house the Roosevelt Spas and more are well-kept, with the areas around them landscaped and looking like a beautiful college campus. There are also miles of hiking trails, equestrian trails, fishing, biking, disc golf, boating, and more. We weren't quite prepared, but walking around the park was enough. The tall trees, the running water...I just needed a little nature in my life. There is a reason that the Saratoga Springs are known far and wide, and the weirdly salty, effervescent water purportedly has a ton of beneficial properties. It also creates strange and wonderful rock formations, and you'll come across a few spigots where you can taste the water, and see how it affects the rock around it. I highly recommend doing a bit of exploring.

The numerous natural mineral springs are like little shrines and a hoot to sample - each one tastes different from the others, some more tolerable, some not; and all allegedly good for whatever ails you. Viewing the old spas and bathhouses (the Roosevelt baths) are stately and impressive. A nice visitor's center and gift shops are situated in a couple. During peak season, it costs $10 per car to enter the park - but it'd be worth it! - during this off-peak period it's no-charge. And the fall foliage colors are great!

We stayed Sunday-Wednesday so we weren't able to eat in the restaurant as they are closed Monday and Tuesday- everyone deserves a couple of days off-which wasn't an issue. The GM Nate was fantastic, in fact everyone we interacted with we very friendly, including fellow golfers on the course as we played. We had so much fun playing the course that we didn't want to try any of the other courses. The golf course was in good shape, and challenging. The view of Lake George from the 10th was gorgeous as well as the view of the mountains towards Vermont. The only downside was we lost a good number of ball LOL. Our room was clean and quaint, just what you would expect for a country Inn, and had all the amenities we needed. Our refrigerator was stocked with bagels, muffins, english muffins, watermelon and all the fixings for the bagels and english muffins. It is definitely on our list of places we will visit again. Thank you Nate and team for making out little getaway perfect!
