This is a nice little park in Lake George. It was across the street from our hotel and made for a nice walk. It was decorated for Fall/ Halloween and had a beautiful view of the lake and right next to the beach.

Nice little public space in the middle of the Village. Small public beach, public restrooms, lovely landscaping. Lots of free concerts and music during the summer as well as the best views of the fireworks in town. In the winter, it's the site of the food cook-offs, the bonfire and the DIY tie-dye shirts during the Winter Carnival. Nice spot to meet up and hang out in Lake George.

Great park to sit back and enjoy the Lake. Public Rest rooms near by Lots of restaurants within walking distance Only set back is parking. From May to October Hard to find near the park. Parking meters all round. Sad Town of lake George money grab $$$$$$$$$$

Such a lovely little park to meander, picnic, check out local buskers, and watch 4th of July fireworks! It's the classic icon of the town and has restaurants and shops all around it. Parking is true madness and very expensive, so I recommend looking for spots in the suburbs or coming here on foot. There are public bathrooms by the street, but they're very dirty and always have long lines. It's a great spot to take photos, but I wouldn't recommend coming here to go for runs, because it's not smooth all across and it's crowded. Bring sunscreen and bug spray!

I quite like this park and beach, and am fond of it. The park is very green, with lovely landscaping, and plenty of spaces to sit under beautiful shade from all the trees. There is a small amphitheater. It is so centrally located in the heart of city center Lake George next to everything you can be near. You get great views of the lake and the steamboats that pass by. The only issue is that the park can get a bit overcrowded. The beach right below the park is small, but the water swimming area can get deep and has different levels. It is nice and clean, and a good number of people go there during summer. There are guards that watch the capacity of people that go into the beach. There is some shade from the trees on Shepherd's park. Honestly I like this more than Mission Dollar beach because it is free and the swimming area is actually bigger and on deeper water. Would gladly come here again.

Beautiful park overlooking Lake George that frequently offers free concerts during the season. Great location for the weekly fireworks Lake George offers.

Currently it's free to drive up as when I passed the toll booth it stated so! This one will be short and sweet as it's just beautiful here in the trees overlooking the lake! We took the red trail all the way to the top and we took the blue trail on the way down (it merges with the red trail). I'm giving four stars because the trail marking are really good, except where they aren't and just disappear for a while or entirely. The red trail is mostly well marked, though there were still times when we just had to keep heading up the mountain because we couldn't find the next marker. On our way down, the blue trail was really, really well marked until it just stopped and we could not find another marker. I'm not a fan of going off trail because I know it can be dangerous and it can be damaging to local ecosystems, but without a clear trail to follow and nearly a mile into the woods, we did the best we could (kept heading downhill and to the right hoping to find the red trail, but eventually finding the road anyway). If you start at the trailhead, you will walk up metal stairs and onto a walkway over the highway. From there, you'll follow the trail about a mile up where you will find a road. Beware of traffic, cross the road, and you'll have another mile to go to reach the summit (you can take red or blue trail) where there is a parking lot and great viewing.

The water was a bit calm but there were a few parts that were crazy. I was in the back of the raft with our guide so that made me feel a bit safer (I'm adventurous but this definitely had my heart racing as a newbie). My fiancé and friends (they've gone white water rafting before) thought the water was too calm and mentioned coming back when the snow is melting and there are more white caps. Our guide was fun and was trying to get us to "surf" our raft next to a rock which was cool. He also jokingly led us into a rock and I flew forward (luckily he caught me before I went too far ha). When you do go, they provide all of the gear you need and more. Buses take you to and from the river. You will also have to help lift the raft to the water with your group (I ended up slipping and falling on the rocks going down to the river so that was "fun", there are snacks/lunch provided when there's a break in between rafting. Towards the end, it was so calm, we had to row for a good mile or two to get us back. When you get back, dinner is provided and it was delicious! I had a fun time and I do want to come back when the water is choppier. Summer was a good choice for a first timer. All in all, I loved this company and our guide (I want to say his name was Buzz). Thanks for the new experience!!

Definitely wear sunscreen and I would recommend bringing bug spray too. We got bit by black flies a few times and they hurt!! Also heads up, the tubing spot only has one portapotty, so plan accordingly.
