Really bad expierience with this store
Bought a bike from here and the very first day I bought it a part broke so I went back to them and they said that I will have to wait 4 days to get it repaired but the bike should not been like this in the first place so I told the guy who was claiming to be the area manager but this later turned out that he was not infact the are manager.
So I told the person who was working that I need the bike to cycle home and this time there was three of them working but they told me it was too busy to fix the bike which it was not too busy,
At this point I told them that if this is the case then I am entitled to a full refund as the product was not fit for purpose and after checking my consumer rights it appeared that this is the case. When I told the person who was claiming to be the area manager he refused to give me a refund saying that he will try and fix the part for me but with no gaurantee that it will be fixed. I thought "no gaurantee that it will be fixed" Is this some sort of a joke considering that when I bought the bike the man told me that if anything needs repaired within six weeks they will provide this service.
Finally after about two hours or so the man had fixed the chain on the bike and I was able to cycle home happily knowing that the bike was now in perfect working order.
After two days the chain had snappped again at the exact same gear it snapped in last time and it got caught in the exact same point on the bike so I thought to myself that there is definately a fault with the bike Halfords has sold me.
I went back to the store and demanded my money back and this was when I found out that the supposed area manager was simply a team leader for upstairs. Great I thought at the fact that I was previously misled by a member of staff which is totally unacceptable.
The person who told me this assured me that I was now speaking to the general manager but after talking to the manager for nearly an hour telling him the whole story of what was wrong with the bike he told me that he might consider giving me a replacement bike but as there bikes are obviously either of bad quality or are not checked over properly quality wise to ensure that the bike will function properly by the staff there.
I told the manager that I wanted a refund and I have clearly told him what was wrong aswell aswell as clearly telling him my consumer rights he then told me rubbish like he is not supposed to give me a refund as they have 28 days to repair it or some rubbish like that so then after a while he finally gave me a refund for the bike then I walked out of the store.
I will never go to halfords again after this terrible experience which includes their bad customer service and their overall cheek towards customer aswell as there refund dodging techniques so to speak.
This is my review of Halfords inverness aswell as a warning to others to shop elsewhere if you dont want to go through what I went through read more
