All that being said, they're funny! They are encouraging. Our guide Tati, gave clear and simple instructions. She was knowledgeable about the history of the gorge, I like that stuff. The beautiful Indian River leads you into the wide open Hudson where you can see many incredible rock formations and flora. It may be that your ridiculously expensive hot tub is facing the wall of your house, with the cover blocking the view. Also, the head of delivery interrupted me, talked over me, yelled at me, hung up on me then told someone else not to connect me with the manager. Some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. They will take your money and will not stand by their work.

Calling ahead, they answered both phone calls immediately and were cool and efficient in their response- young guy (maybe early 20's?)- nice guy/kid. When we got there, it was a simple and painless process. Get your vest, choose some paddles (both in great, solid quality) and get on our kayak, which the employee had in the water, waiting. He gave us the basics and off we went. On our return paddle in, he saw us coming in and came up to the docking area and helped us both off. On our way up the little walk I turned back to see the view of the water when not even 2 minutes passed by and the employee had already lifted the kayak and started washing it off and cleaning it. It shows that this guy and the company care about quality and presentation as well as customer feeling and well being. Kudos to them. Loved the experience. Take a chance folks, you won't be dissappointed.

Called this year and were advised it has changed ownership. The new owner Jack needed to call us back to discuss the trip. We have now called numerous times and sent multiple emails in addition to reaching out of Facebook. Just this morning, we called again to be advised by a person that "jack" has to call us back. She advised she told reminded Jack numerous times.... Sad, as this was a real gem.

The boats are junk and the owners are very shady…read more I reserved a pontoon boat for two days and I was specifically assured that I would not be expected to take the boat out or pay in the event of rain. Day 1 was okay weather-wise, however the boat itself was dirty, all of the seats were ripped and the carpet became soaked through from the underside. I brought it back in because there was something clearly wrong with the way the motor was sputtering but I was told it sounded normal. Day 2 it rained all day and when I called to discuss this with someone, I was told then owners would need to call me back. I called back 3 more times throughout the day and never heard back from the owners, and of course they charged me full price for the rainy day. I eventually got my money back after going through a dispute process with my cc company. It was clear that the employee that helped me was frustrated and knew he worked for shady owners. I know there are not a lot of options on Lake Placid, but do yourself a favor and find a boat somewhere else. If it were possible to give zero stars, I would.
