We rented one of their boats for a full day on 08/30/2024. Their location is a bit farther north from Lake George, but the prices are better than those in town, and the drive there is nice, so we didn't mind it. They were pretty accommodating when we were an hour late from our original reserved time. The registration process is a little slow in my opinion, but overall, it was a great experience. The boats are clean and easy to navigate. Keep in mind that you'll need to park on the street across from the location, which could be quite a walk if you arrive during a busy time. The checkout process is much faster. We will consider coming back if we ever visit Lake George again in the future. read more

Problem free rental. From the reservation person to the pick up was completely problem free. We had two rentals days a part. First was a pontoon boat, very clean nice condition. The 2nd was a bow rider in good condition. Both were great running with plenty of power. ALL the employees That I had contact with were very nice and well educated as to the explanation and rules of the lake. This time the boat would not start - they quickly swapped us out for another one and helped us move our gear. Fantastic service. Best boat rentals on Lake George! We just got back from our annual camping trip to Lake George and we couldn't have done it without Snug Harbor South. Their rentals are kept in such wonderful condition. The staff (of mainly college aged kids) are super helpful and friendly. The landscaping around main building is so well kept and full of blooming flowers. Parking is free with a rental, each additional car is $20. It's easy enough to reserve a boat ahead of time. There is a discount for repeat customers, off season rentals and if you book before April 1st. I would suggest taking out the insurance, especially if you only drive a boat once or twice a year. The rental comes with free water skis and single person tube which is great if you want to take part in those activities as no additional cost! As we are camping on an island close to the South, every morning we would swing by to use stock up on firewood, ice and use the facilities. The kids always help get the boats docked and will fill you up if need be. The only reason I am taking a star off is in previous years, we always had help loading and unloading the boats with our things. This year, no one ever helped. Maybe the policy changed but someone missed out on a $20 tip this time around. read more

Stayed in the Huletts Landing area and rented our boat from Snug Harbor South for 4 hours for a little over$300. They picked us up at the marina and took us on a 3 minute ride to the boat rental location for paperwork. Staff was super friendly, knowledgeable and very detailed in their descriptions giving us newcomers the layout of the land and our new rental boat. We rented the 20ft sportsdeck. It was AWESOME! Water skis and a tube come free with the rental which was a super cool bonus! We took a ride to the south and ended up at the farthest end of Lake George where we docked, went to a restaurant right on the water with an amazing acoustic guitar player, went to a wine festival and then called to extend our rental for just $95 more! Today I was out on the lake and my boat battery died. We were stranded so we waved down someone from Snug harbor South. After towing us back to their dock, their team was ready to help give us a quick jump so we could get home. The staff was extremely friendly, genuine, knowledgeable and kind. Do not go there! Horrible and unreasonable management. We rented a boat for a day from them. Upon renting it, the manager noticed that the propeller and another thing from the boat were slightly damaged, but the manager still gave us the boat. In six hours, when we came back, they accused us of damaging the boat and charged us 380$ for a brand new propeller and the other part(the name of which i don't remember. How are you gonna charge me for a new part that was already damaged upon me renting it!!!!! The managers didn't even want to talk to us, they kept saying we have to pay it, and that's all! Even though we were extremely nice and patient(because me and my husband were with another couple) they were extremely rude. read more

So we found this marina while cruising Upper Lake George...we stopped in for some gas and realized they also had a deli inside. I will say that the marina staff really knows how to help out boat owners when they dock. Very friendly service and knowledgeable in every way. A+ for service. While we were getting fueled up we took a look at the food they had and decided to get a "little" lunch....my friends and I each ordered a sub which we split with our wives and I felt I needed to be a snake in order to open my mouth that wide to take a bite! The subs were monster size...and great fresh ingredient. I had an Italian sub with cucumbers, oil/vinegar, olives, let/tom and a side of potato salad.....it was all delicious...grab extra napkins inside before you go out on the decks to eat. They have great deserts also like mini carrot cakes in a cup cake like form and ice cream. They were quick to get it all together and the prices are great...1 monster sub, 2 sodas and a half pound of potato salad was around 15 bucks. Highly recommend stopping in here by boat or car. read more

What a pleasant experience. The staff was positively lovely and incredibly helpful. The boats were modern, clean and very reasonably priced. If I return to Lake George, I will definitely rent from here again. Sometimes you hear horror stories about boat rentals/marinas (just look at other Yelp reviews from other marinas), but honestly, Snug Harbor has to be the exact opposite of these places. We have rented a boat from here several times .. The people that work here are always so nice, helpful and informative. We had a high schooler help us with the boat and he was so professional I thought he was in college... The boat was clean !! Coming back was super easy you pull in and within a few minutes are in your car ... They are also the most reasonable in price .. The staff was super friendly & knowledgable. A tube & water skis are included in the price. They even picked us up from another location & brought us to their marina. Best place to rent boats on Lake George period. Boats are always new and top of the line. Prices are the best on all of the lake also. I have done plenty of research year after year. Been coming here for 7-8 summers now. Went out this past weekend with a 20 ft Bowrider and 22 Sport Deck. Perfect size and speed for cruising the lake, hanging in Log Bay and tubing ! A little bit of a ride if staying in the village or south end of lake but well worth the ride up to Snug Harbor. I won't go anywhere else on LG ! read more

We have been visiting the Silver Bay area of Lake George for several years now however we have never rented a boat before our trip this weekend. Snug Harbor South was the obvious choice due to its proximity to our lodging and reasonable rates for a partial day rental. We only had 4 people so we went in with the intention of renting their cheapest sport boat (an 18' bowrider), however they were all rented out so we had to settle for a bit more expensive 20 footer. The rental staff was very kind and walked us through the controls and provided us with a lake map for our convenience. As expected we did a pre-launch inspection with a marina staff member to identify anything broken or damaged before we took possession of the boat and then we were sent on our way. We had a great time during our rental. We spent some time tubing and skiing and the rest just exploring areas on the northern half of the lake we had never seen before. My one complaint was that when we got the skis out of the ski locker there was a tear in the binding on one of the skis and we had to cruise about 15 minutes back to Snug Harbor South to get a replacement, which they swapped out for us no questions asked. Overall our experience was very positive and we had a great time. Gas was pretty pricy but I would assume that's pretty standard across the lake. All the staff members we dealt with were helpful and kind and the marina itself had a great atmosphere. I would (and likely will) rent from Snug Harbor again. read more

If you are looking for a boat rental on Lake George this is the place to come. The staff was very helpful, we spent 3 days camping in the Narrow Islands, they greeted us got us a free tube and even helped us load all of our gear into the boat. The young man took his time going through every detail of the boat with my husband since it was our first time on the lake & we own a small fishing boat, he took him out on water in front of the marina so we felt more comfortable. He also spend the time with the kids to try on life vests to get them the right sizes. When returning the boat we had to wait a bit because there were other boats checking in and the docks were full, they ended up docking us on another dock so we could unload all of our gear, and they drove the boat over to gas it up for us. We ended up hitting our propeller but we didn't have to pay for it because we had bought damage protection before leaving. I would highly recommend this boat rental company. We loved our experience on Lake George and will be back for sure!! read more

These guys need some competition! We have rented from them for years and each year the service and value decreases just a little more. This year we hit the wall and won't go back. We had to rent 3 boats over 3 consecutive days because they did not have any one size available for all 3 days and they would not give us ANY kind of multi day discount. Then the condition of the boats got progressively worse to the point where the throttle was sticking on the last boat. While docking I had to hit the kill switch when it got stuck in reverse! Talking with some people on the dock I learned that a Snug Harbor boat that looked just like ours had the same problem there just a day before. Upon returning the boat I told them the boat was unsafe and got a simple OK in response...not just once but with 2 separate people. They did not want to hear it.
