My husband and I have merely been window shoppers and browsers for the past nine years that we have visited Sonoma and Half-Pint. We'd ooh and ahh over clothing we'd dress our future child in. We visited in April '21 when I was eight months pregnant, and finally, today I made a purchase for my now three-month-old son. The items are boutique prizes, so you won't find baby clothes at Carter's prices. However, the clothing is unique. I loved the two Spanish branded items I purchased. I also saw the brand Mayoral. I like that the staff has always allowed me to browse without being pushy. I like that they always have a variety of products, and I like how they have items for babies and big kids. Sonoma is a staple in our little family, and now Half-Pint will be a staple, too! read more

Well, any of us that have kids know that they outgrow things at a fast rate. So I was looking for some thing for my nephew and his wife who have a baby due. Most of the stuff is too pricey for me, but they had a nice sale rack. So I got a cute little outfit and then I had to get a rubber ducky. This lovely children's boutique has been a mainstay on the Sonoma square for more then 20 years. in addition to a creative, stylish selection of infant, baby, and children's clothing they offer a variety of accessories, plush blankets and toys, as well as a few books and other gift options. For full understanding, here's a little background about myself - I have an education in fashion design, marketing and management. I have years of experience in fashion business operations, visual merchandising, merchandise management, etc. Just to clarify that I'm not talking out my ass. I visited this store on May 21 while visiting Sonoma with some family. I entered the store with my 10 month old in his stroller. This is a pretty average stroller, not huge by any means as I'm a tiny woman myself. This store's inventory was at least 80% of feminine / girly clothes. They barely had anything for infant boys. I could only find gender neutral pieces that were sized newborn to 6 months. They had a nice selection of clothes for toddler boys, but still the toddler girl clothes took up the majority of that space. Okay, continued to browse around. Next, I found their sale section. I should have taken a picture of it. The store is kind of set up in two sections with a ramp in the middle. On one side of the ramp, of course the much smaller, narrower side was the sale section. This section was so narrow that you can't actually turn around with a stroller, you have to go straight in or out. This means that parents with bigger strollers, individuals with disabilities, grandparents in scooters or larger people cannot access this space. Yet you claim this store is wheelchair accessible -- why, because you have a ramp? That's the bare minimum. Also, the sale section was only boy pieces (nothing in my son's size). I wonder who's doing their retail buying. I roll back out of that section to leave because I just feel uncomfortable at this point. Before exiting the door that I came in, I noticed that one side of the door wasn't just a window display - it was a section of toys open for browsing. I noticed some brands that I love so I tried to enter the toy section, but wasn't able to. The way they set up their products made the entrance too narrow. I tried to go through the space and my stroller got stuck. I almost knocked over some of their products and the display piece holding products. I was anxious, not trying to make a mess but also just trying to see some goddamn products. I simply backed out as it was obvious that parents with strollers aren't allowed to see the toys. Now during the entire time I was walking through the store, the two women sitting at the POS system stayed there. They warmly greeted me when I entered, but that was it. They didn't seem to be working, but of course I could be wrong. They mostly were gossiping from what I could see and hear. They watched me throughout the store, but never provided real customer service. Never once got up, never once genuinely engaged with me as a paying customer. Their work area is directly centered in front of the door, so they watched me try to go into that toy section, saw me struggle, and said / did nothing. As I'm backing out and straightening my stroller to go out the door, the two women thanked me for coming and to have a great day. I was visibly annoyed. Out of frustration, I waved my hand to gesture at the store and shouted "You can't bring a stroller anywhere in here!" They were completely unfazed and unbothered. How do you have a children's store, yet you willingly dismiss parents with strollers and individuals with disabilities? You're only catering to one type of parent and one type of child with this place. Make that make sense. How are your employees not present or mindful? How do you have a retail business with no comprehension of how to properly curate a planogram for your store? Your able-bodied privilege is showing. read more

I was in Sonoma on a weekend excursion and stumbled across this cute store for children that is packed with anything and everything for a child pretty much. From a wide assortment of clothes to toys and activity ideas for a fun filled day with a younger group. Having no munchkins of my own I tend to always keep an eye out for the miniature tazmanian devil that is my nephew. The store is precious with a ton of cutesy clothes that are unique and stylish. Geared more for little girls in the clothing sections; there is still a nice selection of hipster chic shirts and cargos for little boys. Walking out, the purchase was on a shirt designed with a crazy looking monster on the shirtfront made by a little boy for little boys! Exceptional and very friendly service that makes this one stop shop a must see if in the area and you have kids or are buying for a child. This store is so freaking cute! It's my go to for baby showers and children's gifts! Yeah it's pricey but the quality of the clothes is so much better than target or baby gap. Everything just looks special! They carry a bunch of French brands which are to die for! The staff are always willing to help me with ideas for gifts and are really nice! My husband and I decided to move to Sonoma recently after many years of living in the city. As I had grown up in this wonderful little town, I couldn't WAIT to get back to some of my favorite restaurants and shops I knew as a young girl...and Half-Pint was one of them! The store is still as perfect as I remember. The cutest, most unique selection (that you really can't find anywhere else) that is the best quality. Knowing that I will soon be having children of my own, this will be the only place I will buy their clothes from because I know they will last! Not to mention they will look SO adorable. In the meantime, I am excited for this to be my go-to children's store for gifts. Whether it be clothes, jewelry, toys, blankets, shoes, or games (to name only a few things) they have it. First and foremost, I have kids ... and I would never buy either of them an outfit from this store because the prices are REDONKULOUS. My pre-kid self would probably go here and buy stuff for friends having babies, thinking that higher prices must mean higher quality and better design. This store has always been a favorite when I could make it to Sonoma. I always got a thrill when I went to splurge on a baby shower gift, but I was there last night before the Tues. Farmer's Market and did not enjoy my experience. I was window shopping bc I couldn't fully enter the store due to my 2 1/2 yr. old twins who were in the stroller. I didn't want them to go gaga over all the cool $$$$$ stuff that I wasn't ready to buy. I found 2-3 items on the outside sales rack by the back door that I was considering, so I took 5 steps in, keeping an eye on my kids who were admiring the water fountain. The sales associate walked right by me to acknowledge two other customers, I then walked around inside a bit, but (still ignored) returned my items to the rack and left feeling insulted. Was it my outfit? DId I not look like I had $$$$ to spend? I know the girl saw me, bc her eyes glanced at my funky Ed Harvey shoes. I called today to ask them to remove me from the mailing list. I did not enjoy my "discussion" with the owner who told me I wasn't being fair on judging her store from last night's experience (??? huh???) To be honest, I always got a "lukewarm" feeling from the staff, but just couldn't resist the creations. I will not be returning to that boutique, even though they have the CUTEST items for that special little someone. read more

Mmmmm Half-Pint! Absolutely the cutest clothes for kids, anywhere. I get so excited when I get to shop for a baby shower or gift for a friend's child. My daughter got married and we bought the most beautiful dress there for the flower girl. And shoes. And a sweet, sweet velvet jacket. And a hair accessory. Pam, the owner, was super accommodating. I love Half-Pint and so do my kids! Aside from loving the clothes and enjoying the convenience of being able to purchase unique and stylish clothes in our own small town......I love that on a rainy day when my kids are going stir crazy it is perfectly acceptable to the owner and her her extremely friendly employees to take a trip to Half-Pint just to get the kids out of the house and let them play with the toys. I usually buy something but if I didn't it would be more than alright with the owner. In case you missed the last big sale this summer....keep your eyes open for the Winter sale...they are the best! Stopped at this store on a whim after grabbing a gelato across the way, and are we ever glad we did! Darling children's store on the square with all kinds of fun and unique finds. Quality toys, adorable baby gear and stylish boys/girls clothing. I picked up a few outfits for my nephews and a shower gift for a friend since it can be hard to find items like this in Canada. The woman helping me did a beautiful job gift wrapping which thankfully made the trip home in-tact. The best! This ultra-chic children's boutique is the best it gets when it comes to adorable children's clothing. I have two little girls and love each and every piece comes through the store. I feel so lucky as a mother of two in Sonoma to not have to leave town to find something special for my little ones. Some items are pricey (and worth every penny!) but they have unique items from $6.00 and up-- so there is really something for everyone! They also have great sales and will let you know up front where the deals are!! An added bonus is the amazing customer service. As a frequent browser the employees are more than welcoming and accommodating to Mothers. They are more than accommodating to nursing mothers, diaper changing, and potty training emergencies-- I know from personal experience! They are more than happy to also hold a baby while you look around if they aren't too busy!! In response to another review written---I am 110% sure that your specific experience was a misunderstanding and that no one who works in that store would never knowingly do something like that. I happen to know that the owner is a local mom who tries very hard and has done a great job of making the store a welcoming place. Cute and all, but extremely over-priced and a bit unwelcoming for a town such as Sonoma. Feels like a tourist trap. Staff has an attitude, as if they are doing you a favor. Prefer to go to other cute stores in Napa, Corte Madera or San Francisco. If you are from out of town, you may feel a bit ripped off. And, if you are a local, you may feel a bit overlooked. I absolutely love this clothing store! The staff has been absolutely amazing each and every time I've shopped there. They are helpful without being intrusive, give several alternative suggestions when I ask, have gone out of their way to get me additional sizing when available, and will even ring me if they think something has come in that is perfect for my styles/tastes. The store carries most of my favorite children's brands and charges appropriate prices for the lines that they carry (Hannah Banana, Eliane et Lena, etc.). They put their outfits together in really attractive ways and carry a great variety of accessories/gift items as well. read more

After my first visit to Half Pint over 5 years ago, I knew this was the store for me. I had to return a baby shower gift and I was blown away by the fantastic customer service. I frequently shop at Half Pint and I have always been treated with fantastic customer service - my girls also love it there because they get to play in the toy corner while I shop for fun hip clothes and accessories that you're only going to find at a nice boutique. In addition I look forward to her semi annual sales - every single item is on sale! I love the $10 table - I've been fortunate to find $70 items for $10 - what a DEAL!! Not super impressed. Have been in here many times, love the clothes, and little bits and pieces, prices are a bit much, but for a special something for the girls I'll splurge every now and then. My last experience, however, left me with a really bad feeling - in fact, it left me leaving the store without purchasing anything. I was the only shopper (with my two small kids), the two sales people seemed to be completely incapable of providing any customer service what so ever. They both hung out at the cash register while I struggled to try and find the right shoe sizes for my kids - they would call out across the entire length of the store in answer to my questions, but not once did either one of them come over and offer to assist me in any way. Eventually, I got fed up, and chose to leave rather than dropping my usual couple of hundred dollars at the store. I'll gives money to someone who appreciates my business! read more
