I know they're a local favorite, I know they have their devoted followers, but I really do feel like it's one of the more unique pizza offerings in our area. We got takeout and it was ready right on time. I hesitate to say it, but I mean it in the most delicious, addictive way; it's like a thinner, tastier, less stick-to-the-roof-of-your-mouth-ish Nardone's style (in shape and feel), with a more complex cheese build. It's a hybrid tray/bar pie vibe, and you'll wonder how many cuts you can take before others do the math. My son ordered the cheesesteak; I had a hard time verbalizing 'just steak and cheese' but check that picture out, I think he's onto something. The wing sauces don't feel weighed down by butter or additives; they're bright, flavorful and unique blends that you can experiment with, since you can get orders as small as six bone-in wings. One of the sauces we tried was Szechuan orange, almost reminiscent of Asian duck; sweet and tangy with a little peppery zing, the boneless bites come SAUCED. I still prefer the regular wings. And it would be criminal not to mention Grandma Kelsey's Pizza, which might not adhere strictly to the Grandma lineage (whatever that is) but is certainly in my top 3 grandma pies locally; really incredible!

If she waits on you make sure that she does not add on extras that you do not want. She will ask if you want corn and potatoes with your meal and if you say yes she adds on extra portions of each. Corn for $4.00 more and Potatoes for $3.50 more (They are already included with your meal). When she brought out our food we asked her why we had so many pieces of corn and potatoes with each meal and she said that is what we wanted and I explained to her we only wanted that comes with the meal and you brought us way to many. She said no problem and that she would take them off of our bill and I explained that we did not order and extra food and she said that its ok and that they would take them off of our bill when we paid. Well when the bill arrived nothing was taken off and We asked her about it and she said that she would have it corrected and then came back and asked me for payment and I asked for a copy of the bill before I paid and she had taken off only part of the extras and I told her that she needed to take the rest off of the bill and she stormed away and then 2 other ladies came to the table and told us that we had eaten the extras and that we had to pay for them. WE DID NOT EAT THEM!! I explained this to them and they said the waitress had counted the food that was left and we had to pay for the missing pieces and that was that. We were lied to and tricked into ordering add ons that we did not eat. I paid the bill and explained that we would never come back here again after this mess. It's not the money that matters. It was how we were treated. YOU JUST LOST A LONG TIME CUSTOMER OVER THIS! Just beware when you order so this doesn't happen to you!

My friend and I both felt as great as the food and architecture are, the service was outstanding. I'd be there at least once a week to expand my waistline. We were also greeted by insistent manager, whose name I shamefully do not recall. She also demonstrated pride in the establishment and serving its customers. Although it's quite a ways from home, I have no doubt that I will be back until then. I will look forward to it. From start to finish, the food was outstanding. We began with the Stracciatella soup and mussels, which were both absolutely out of this world, followed by a salad that was just as impressive. For our entrées, we enjoyed the shrimp tacos, which were incredibly fresh and delicious, and the aged steak, which was cooked to perfection and truly top-notch. Even though we were completely full, we couldn't resist dessert. We shared the limoncello cake with cappuccino, and, like everything else we had, it was exceptional. The restaurant itself is beautiful, the service was impeccable, and the owner couldn't have been more gracious. He's clearly passionate about making this restaurant a success, and it shows in every aspect of the dining experience. As a thoughtful surprise, our dessert and cappuccinos were complimentary. It certainly wasn't expected, but it was a very kind and professional gesture that we genuinely appreciated. If you're anywhere in the Wilkes-Barre area--or even if you're farther away--Diamond City Vault is absolutely worth the trip. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!
