They looked over my car first thing and gave me a call to discuss their recommendations. They started with the easiest and least expensive option to troubleshoot my problem, and did not try to sell me on thousands of dollars of things that might be the issue up front. It turns out, thankfully, the easiest solution worked, and I was able to pick up my car the same day. Few places, in my experience, provide this kind of conscientious service any more in the automotive industry. I am really grateful to have found them.

If you own an import car you must take it to Smith Imported Car Service for repair or upkeep. We…read morehave a 2015 Audi Q7 and took it to a repair shop closer to home. We had AC issues with water in the floorboards. We were initially told it would be a quick repair and they would only need it a day or so. They called and told use it was a seal and that it would cost between $500-750 to repair. Three days later they still haven't repaired the car and now say there might be other issues with the AC. I told them to put it back together and do not repair it and we wanted the car back. They were angry but I felt something was not right about the entire thing. We searched for months afterwards and came across Smith's Imported Car Service. Arranged a day to drop it off. Four hours after dropping it off they call and tell us it's ready and it will be $80 which included them replacing the battery in the key fob! Don't get ripped of or treated badly.....simply go to Smith's Imported Car Service and save yourself time and money!!!!!! We will be back there for all our service needs!

We were traveling through Louisville this weekend for a little getaway when we noticed our brakes…read moreunresponsive and a burning smell coming from under the hood. More than a little alarmed, we pulled into the nearest auto shop and were told that 1) they didn't work on weekends, 2) The cost of repairing my drivers side brakes would be $600 for rotors, pads, and hoses on one side, and 3) they couldn't get to it before closing. As we were in Louisville for such a short time, we needed to get our brakes done fast, and preferably for less. By chance we happened upon Coric, pulled in, and after looking at the car, quoted us at $360 (for both drivers-side and passengers-side), and rather than having to leave it over night, said that he'd have it done in an hour to an hour-and-a-half. He was true to his word, and after about an hour-and-a-half, we had our car back, good to go, for about a quarter of the price and a fraction of the time. Coric really came through for us in a pinch, and we're really thankful for his honesty, skill, and hard work.

After paying a total of $1,711.84, the problem always returned within days (3 days, then 14 days, then less than 24 hours). They also lied about dates and claimed the car came in for "three different problems," which is completely false -- it was the same issue every time. Their invoices lacked detail, and they ignored the written list of symptoms I left in the car. The second shop I went to finally fixed the issue and provided detailed notes showing what should have been done the first time. When I filed a complaint, Jay Barker's Auto Repair even claimed they "did not know" I was having these issues, which makes no sense since their own receipts list "Engine Power Reduced." After three failed repairs and misleading statements, I refused to return -- three strikes and you're out.
