I'm sending this to my attorney for damages to my credit and not honoring there warrant. definitely don't by from them it will be a frustrating experience . do better lake country barge this is pathetic.

I had to park my boat somewhere else when it arrived because it wouldn't go on lift. After having to move lift further out ourselves, we put the boat on it. Then a cable snapped and ripped through our brand new lift. My husband and I saw a crew members after who wasn't even an employee pull a piece out and spent about 10 minutes trying to put it back. It was a pin that holds a pully for the cable to ride on. When he put pin back, the pully was not in place and was inside the tube. I let them know what happened. They said they don't service my lift brand and that's not how they adjust the legs. I know that's not how they should adjust legs but it's what this inexperienced mad did. It caused about $1,800 in damage to my lift. And then they wanted us to pay for them putting out lift in. When we refused, they sued us. Beware. The owner never contacted me either. He has his office manager email me.

Brian their manager, has always been friendly, courteous and informative. If he didn't have an immediate answer for me, he would do a little research and get right back to me. This year the impeller broke while out on the lake. I called Brian and he sent D J and Dave to pick up the boat, they fixed it the next day and got it back to me by the third day. What made this so special is that I know they were swamped with the delivery of boats. However, once I told Brian about my grandkids coming over for a promised ride he expedited everything. D J and Dave always have a smile on their faces and are quick, prompt and professional during pick up and delivery. Retzlaff's is fortunate to have individuals of this caliber represent their business.

i have been a customer for probably about 16 or so years. Their customer service was always really…read morepoor but I put up with it for the location near multiple lakes. As a long standing customer, I will tell you a few things. 1.) I stored my boat with them and it would take them up to six months at times to cash my check. I had to take a ride from MKE to Oconomowoc multiple times to ask them to cash my check as they don't answer the phone. 2.) On more than one occasion I had a rodent problem during winter storage. The last time rodents chewed through wires. 3.) I had repairs done with them and they were always late, frequently saying next week and then next week again ad infinitum. I remember one time, I called repeatedly because no one answered the phone. The owner Rob Hamer finally answered and said, "I cant get any work done with the phone ringing off the hook." Hire someone to answer the phone. 4.) One time during the run up for summer storage, they threw my boat cover in what looked like Dextron fluid completely soaking the back half of the new cover. I politely called the owner ( he finally answered the phone) and his response was, "We're only human." Understatement of the Century. 5) Lastly, I had been with them so long, there was a time when you could do minor repairs in their boat yard. Apparently that changed somewhere along the line and they never told me. There is fine print on the bottom of the storage agreement.. You'd think they'd tell long-standing customers about the policy change. I recently spliced a wire in my boat which took a bit longer than an hour, apparently Rob Hamer saw I was on the property that long after reviewing his surveillance tapes. He calls me at work. I say, "Hey what's up Rob, "and he starts barking at me loudly. Come get your boat, we'll return your check. I had just paid. I asked why. He said I told you not to work on your boat on the yard. I told his lying self that he had not and if he did, I would have done the repair elsewhere. He started yelling, YOU SIGNED A PIECE OF PAPER. YOU SIGNED A PIECE OF PAPER - apparently referencing the rental agreement. I got angry and said I've been a customer for almost 20 f@cking years. You watched me install my boat seats in the yard years ago. I didn't know the policy had changed. After that Rob Hamer said, "I don't appreciate your language and we'll have to see what the insurance says after uploading the tapes (whatever that means). After that I was finished. Convenient location to the lakes wasn't worth it. I came and pulled the boat the next day and the secretary gave me back my check. He wasn't around. Yes I should have read the fine print but when a customer has been with you that long, you should probably tell them about the policy change or they will assume it's business as usual. I learned a lesson. I will never ignore so many red flags for the sake of convenience. Avoid this business like the plague. The owner Rob Hamer needs a lesson in customer service and how to treat people in general. (I've added the photos of the rodent damage done to my boat the second time during winter storage. If you want to be treated poorly and have your boat destroyed by rodents, Retzlaff Marine is your place.)

After we used the jet ski, we waited on the owner for over a half hour. We he arrived, he was rude, yelled and told me to back up the jet ski as he had to move his trailer onto the cement ramp. I moved back per his directive, he yelled again and told me I was too shallow and probably ruining the jet ski. He pulled it out, looked at it and told me the jet ski was fine. He then explained he was late as one of his other jet ski's sunk in another lake. During this ordeal, I had 3 other people witness this situation. One week later I received a bill in the mail with an additional $600 charge applied to my credit card. I immediately called to find out why and was told rocks had ruined the propeller when I backed up into the shallow water. Recall, this was the owners demand. I explained the situation, but they insisted it was my fault. I called the credit card company to dispute charges. Good Time Rentals informed the credit card company that we did not pay for 'their insurance,' therefore, we were liable. I spoke to Good Time Rentals and asked for an itemized repair bill. At first, they told me they sent it out for repair. Now, they claim, they fixed it in-house and do not have an itemized bill. If they really a repair, they would have a bill or a bill for parts used. Again, I've called the credit card company with a fraud complaint. I've also issued a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Beware, DO NOT RENT equipment from Good Time Rentals. You will have a 'horrible time' in dealing with their dishonest business practices.

I'm not sure if it was a manufacturer defect, or if it wasn't assembled properly by Good Time Rentals (also known as lakeside solutions). The planks which the boat sit on consistently lean to the point that the boat looks like it's going to fall over (see photos of company under google review for my specific lift). Unfortunately Kathy and Ken have been COMPLETELY unresponsive in my request to get this fixed. They admitted something was amiss with the lift and haven't seen the issue often, but have failed to offer any solutions or assistance even though the lift is still under warranty. Both of the owners screen my calls and will not answer their phones. Every once in a great while I receive a text message they'll take a look at it, but they've never made good on this. Long story short, don't touch this company with a ten foot pole. I'm also filing a complaint to the Better Business Bureau and Hewitt lifts about the TERRIBLE customer service I've experienced over the last two years.
