Her timeshare is a 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom. That's what she reserved and her confirmation email showed. Unfortunately Capitol vacations told the property to give her a 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom unit. We were a party of 5 so 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom wasn't enough space for us. When my gf called the front desk she was told that the property was sold out and that was the only unit available. So we spent 2 nights in the 1 bedroom unit but were promised a 2 bedroom unit on Tuesday. Unfortunately on Tuesday that unit had a broken air conditioner and couldn't be used. So they offered us a 2nd 1 bedroom unit. Wednesday the 2 bedroom unit's a/c was repaired so we moved again. My girlfriend and I flew home on Thursday night. Friday morning they moved the other 3 to yet another room. To be clear, it wasn't the local staff on site at the Maui Schooner, rather it was the Capitol vacations who couldn't get anything right. It's my girlfriend's timeshare and I am just her guest. So I don't have any standing to complain. She's very frustrated and I believe that she will be expressing her displeasure in a letter to Capitol vacations. 2 stars because the resort and amenities were nice. The management of the timeshare should get negative stars.

The decor was so nice, and the patio with a view of the ocean was amazing. The pool is ten yards away and the private beach is just a few feet beyond that. The staff is so friendly and accommodating and the grounds are immaculately maintained. The condos come with beach chairs, boogie boards, and a cooler for your beach trips! It was our first trip here and we will definitely be back.

They did advertise the unit for only sleeping 5…read more We saw the pictures and saw the sofa bed and thought that would be perfect for all to have their own beds. Then upon arriving find the pillows and sheets another bonus until it was time to go to sleep and discovering the sofabed was not functional or usable as a bed at all. I was still very disappointed by the customer service that I received and the tone of voice that was used to me when I asked the question about using the sofabed. They were accommodating and had a rollaway bed delivered the next day. I met Mike who is on the management team here at Kahana Village and explained what had happened the prior night from the woman who answered the phone. Thank you to Mike I am still disappointed by the sofabed issue but I am able to focus more on the positive aspects of the place. The location is about 6 miles North of Lahaina and in a small resort area. It is a little outdated but safe and comfortable. The amenities are the pool area which includes a gazebo with ice machines and it comes with Beach chairs, snorkel gear, boogie boards and a cooler for the beach adventures. There are a couple restaurants and bars that are walking distance from the complex. I am eating it somewhere between and 3.5-4.0 and rounding up because Mike was such a nice person and made the rest of the vacation for me.

The valet attendants were so kind and helpful. They directed us to the lobby to check in. There were a few people in line so it took some time, but all the front desk agents were smiling and attentively taking care of guests. The lobby was beautiful so we didn't mind the wait. Once it was our turn to check in, Kanani kindly came to us and walked us to her station. She thanked us for waiting and began checking us in. Once she found out we were celebrating our anniversary, she became so excited and immediately went to the back to grab us leis. She took the time to get to know us a little bit and answered all of our questions. She gave us our wristbands and we headed to our room. We were blown away by the room that had been assigned to us. We had a beautiful ocean view right next to the luau. Room was clean and super comfortable, but we didn't spend much time in the room other than to sleep. We had an amazing dinner at Sonz Steakhouse. Highly recommend! We wanted to book a cabana by the pool for one of our days there so we went to the front desk and Kanani was there to help us again. She quickly set it all up for us. We had such a great day by the pool. Service was amazing throughout the entire resort, but Kanani's kindness and attentiveness is what really stood out for us. We can't wait to come back and we sincerely hope to see her again.

I knew we'd be too early to check in, but the bell desk held our bags, and they allowed us to use the pools. Ingeniously, the room (and pool towel) key is on an elastic bracelet. This was the best idea I've ever come across. No need to fumble in your wallet or purse each time!! Even if you're staying with the Hyatt Regency, you can also use the pool for the Hyatt Vacation Club (timeshare). We preferred this pool so much more than the other two pools. It was less crowded and had more seating in the shade. Once we got our room, we had a king-size partial ocean view, and it actually overlooked our favorite pool, too. A resort-view room, if it overlooked and of the manicured grounds, would be delightful. All of the animals at the hotel were such a fun addition! Watching the penguins was really fun, especially seeing the baby penguin be introduced! Lots of other cool birds are on display in the lobby/atrium, as well as many ducks and swans that roam the property. Keep in mind, although your daily resort fee "includes" some activities, some of these activities have an additional cost, such as the lei making and star observation. There's a good selection of restaurants on-site, as well as gift shops. While we wanted to do the breakfast buffet... The line gets LONNNNNNNNNNNG, so we opted for the coffee shop each morning (the chia pudding was delish!). The resort also isn't too far from whalers village, probably a 15-20 minute walk, depending on how fast you are. There's also the Kaanapali Trolley, which can take you all around Kaanapali, but it's a loop and will take approx 30 mins in the trolley. Overall, we had a great vacation. We'd happily stay here again!

The water temperature is often lukewarm, at best. It's only hot after the water heater has been left alone for a few hours. All other facets of the condo were in good working order. TIP: Use the washing machine or dishwasher during the middle of the day when no one is showering -- and not back to back. There's simply not enough hot water to go around for a family of four. Why do I feel condensation droplets while lying in my bed? Is that from the A/C vent?!? The cabana is a free, noisy, unfriendly golf cart ride away from the condos that closes early. Parking is not ideal. It's either a small outdoor lot near registration, or a super-low garage that your SUV will not fit in the bottom two floors -- shows you how old this place is. (Be very careful when opening your rear lift gate as it will hit the ceiling of the garage -- especially, if it's motorized.) I'm guessing Outrigger bought this property for its footprint and future potential here on the northern part of Ka'anapali. Once they endure the Maui permitting process, I suspect this dated property will be leveled and turned into a first class destination worthy of the Outrigger branding. Until then, I'd recommend that you look elsewhere.

The noise was so intense that it was impossible to rest. I had just completed a 5.5-hour flight and was extremely exhausted, but I couldn't lie down or sleep because there was constant cutting, drilling, and loud construction noise. It was unbearable. I went outside and politely asked the workers to stop or at least move the work further away from my room, but they refused. I then started recording a video to document the situation and have evidence for a review. At that point, one of the workers approached me, began threatening me, and tried to take my phone. It was a very disturbing experience. I went to the front desk and asked them to stop the situation, but they refused to help. Yes, I raised my voice out of frustration, but instead of resolving the issue, they called the police and made it seem like I was at fault. If you are looking for a peaceful and comfortable stay, please do not choose this hotel. There is no respect for guests here -- it feels like they only care about money. I struggled to get my refund back and, after a lot of effort, I finally managed to recover my money. I did not even stay there for two hours before leaving. Honestly, when I left, I felt relieved and happy knowing I would never return to this place again. As for the rooms, there was a very strong smell of mold. I did not see visible mold, but the odor was overwhelming the moment I opened the door. The photos make the rooms look spacious, modern, and well-maintained, but in reality, they are small, worn out, and the furniture looks old and used. That moldy smell is something I will never forget.

Napili Sunset was great for a short trip. The one and two bedroom apartments are literally steps from the ocean. Walk down the path to the protected Napili Beach to enjoy the gentle waves, green sea turtles and the golden sand between your toes. Grab a boogie board or noodle to borrow for the afternoon. Snorkeling gear is available if you didn't bring your own. Beautiful coral reefs with so many colorful fish. Stroll along the ocean and enjoy a sky filled with stars at night. Enjoy the garden landscaped with giant hibiscus and palm trees. Gabriel was so nice when he checked us into the room. Love the waterproof wristbands which serve as keys. Thanks for the tips to book a last minute early morning whale watching cruise. Amazing to see hundreds of whales including baby whales learning to breach. The room was simple but cute for a weekend beach stay. Fully stocked kitchen available. Oversized balcony with a peekaboo view of the ocean overlooking the pool and garden. Even binoculars were available for whale watching. Nice perks also included free parking, good WiFi and no resort fees. Fresh towels are available at the office. We initially booked a condo in this resort via Airbnb but later the management changed and our…read morereservation got transferred to Hale Mahina Beach Resort. We stayed for 4 nights in July including my husband, our toddler son and myself. Our unit was A202. Pros: - There's private beach access and a swimming pool inside the resort. The beach is fine sand and the waves can get a little rough. Many people were snorkeling and swimming so probably not unsafe. We didn't go snorkeling as we don't know how to swim and our toddler didn't like the waves. But that's on us. Overall a great private beach. - There's a shower and foot wash so that you can leave the sand at the beach. There are also beach towels, two pretty new beach chairs and an umbrella in the unit which we carried to the beaches we went to. - The building is in close proximity to Lahaina Harbor and Whaler's Village, making it quite a prime location. - There's a TV with an internet connection, a well appointed kitchen, washer dryer and dishwasher. The Internet needed some router restarts but eventually it did and then worked seamlessly. - The unit was cleaned well too. There's ample parking and an elevator up to the units. So quite accessible as well. Cons: - The bedroom and the bathroom have no access to the single portable AC and can get quite stuffy and hot. We were visiting in July and this was a major concern. There's no ventilation in either of these and that made it worse. - Even the living room doesn't get cooled down much by the single AC. We at times wished we stayed at a hotel with a kitchen rather than here due to the heat. - The unit is overall small, almost like a studio apartment with some makeshift doors. I think it's partially on Airbnb advertisement where the previous owner sold it like a bigger unit. It's good enough for a couple or a family of 3 with a little kid, like a toddler or smaller. - The bedroom is just beside the staircase so you can hear people walking up and down super clear and evidently they can hear you too. It mattered to us since we have a toddler and we needed to put on white noise to suppress this as much as we could. - The single closet in the bedroom is crowded with a lot of things so we used a couple of basket drawers to unpack our clothes. I wish there was more unpacking space.

The best thing was the fantastic view, we went to the beach at least once a day and saw sea turtles in the sand every time we went later in the afternoon. My wife and I spent every night lounging on the balcony enjoying the beach smell and sounds after we put the kids down. Another good thing to as proximity, very close to convenient places to eat, get groceries, and get gas. It was also a close drive to the more seculded north end of the island and all the tours and excursions south in Lahaina. Our unit was nicely maintained and nice, the building manager puts a lot of care into the building and cleaned the pool every single day.
