First, I sent Outrigger a message on their site without any response whatsoever. The El Dorado Resort grounds are nice. The location on the golf course and proximity to ocean is nice. The process of booking was nice. This is where nice ends. We rented three condos and paid around $13k. It's not crazy to expect well kept accommodations. The general run down condition of E100 was disappointing. The stovetop kept cycling off and it took 15 min to make a single pancake. I had my entire family in Hawaii. I called the onsite personnel and they sent a house keeper to fix the stovetop. When this didn't work, they said they'd send a maintenance person. I called hours later and they told me they couldn't get a hold of anyone. They told me they'd send someone the next day, nobody showed, ever. I rented a condo with a kitchen and bought $800 worth of groceries so we could cook some family meals. I had to buy a fry pan to avoid the non-stick coating peeling off the one they provided. The roof tiles falling from the second story stopped us from using one patio. The kids didn't like the water beatles (look like roaches). Basically, our other 2 bedroom smelled and E100 was not nice. Our 1 bed was nice, so I heard, I never looked. Outrigger collected the cash but did not deliver a more than $500/nite condo. I would have saved money and had a better trip had we gone to another hotel. The simple fact I gave them a chance to discuss my issues before I posted this and they disregarded me completely, says everything. No service after the sale. Buyer be ware.

This place was ok on the outside. The walk to the beach was far but not too far. However the beach area was rocky and rough and the only guest amenities were a shower and bathroom. The inside of the room was disgusting. Very deeply dirty carpet and couch. My feet became black walking around. We carried in some sand with us so I cleaned it up with some Swiffers that were in the closet. After 4 swiffers they were still coming out black. it seemed this place hadnt been cleaned in years. It is clearly spelled out that once your Tp (2 rolls for 8 days) is gone you are on your own. Linens are not collected for washing. etc. also $600 in advance for depature cleaning but I'm not sure why because I cleaned more than I think it's been cleaned in years

Disappointed with our stay. Will not recommended nor stay ever again. Our unit was extremely outdated, nothing like the pictures we were shown. Starting with check in, we were told our unit was not ready, they have a strict 3pm check in. At 2:55 they gave us our keys, we excitedly walked to our unit only to find our housekeeper still cleaning. She was very nice and friendly, allowed us to come in and wait. That was about the only positive customer service we experienced. Beware: the front desk is only able to give you your keys. They don't help with anything unit related. We went to the front desk to complain about the condition of our units, we were referred to our property manager who was already closed by the time we checked in, and closed for the weekend. We could not request toilet paper, towels or cleaner from the front desk. If you need toilet paper during your stay you need to pick it up from the property manager about .5 miles from our unit. They do not give new towels during your stay, you must wash them yourselves. They do not clean your unit during your stay. We were charged an upgrade fee of $400 for a partial ocean view. They don't warn you that you need binoculars to see the water. This is unacceptable. Be warned. They do offer a cabana for your use while there, but of course the residents can book it and have private events. It was closed 3 of the nights we stayed. The unit had tons of ants, both in the kitchen and bathroom. We experienced cockroaches, one in the shower and one running out from under the stove. The mattresses were probably about 20 years old. They were booked solid so no chance of moving us. We rented 3 units total. 1 had no working a/c but I'll let the others review their own units but heads up, they do not have a better review than this. All three units were disappointing, outdated and not clean. Possible mold in our shower ceiling. Running toilet water all night. The complaints are endless. We have filed a complaint with our travel agent.

Beach Cabana. Or check out chairs for free to sit in the sand.

Great location at reasonable prices with an exclusive beach cabana. The cabana at the beach is the best feature--no other resort in Kaanapali has one. Walk 10 min or order a golf cart to take you from the office. Full kitchen with sink, fridge, and ice maker. Bath in the sun or shade on the deck without the messy sand. Or check out a beach chair and enjoy the sand. There is something for everyone! The next best feature is the great location. Walk north up to 2 miles on a boardwalk along the ocean, passing Kahekili Beach Park with some of the best snorkeling. Walk through the neighboring Sheraton on the south and walk up to 2 miles that direction, passing Whalers Village sipping area and some of the most beautiful hotels you will ever see. Walk 10 min to Black Rock to enjoy amazing snorkeling and be there by 5:50pm any evening to watch the cliff dive ceremony just before the spectacular Maui sunset. Spacious condos, most of them with full kitchens so you can save money by eating in. Why stay anywhere else?

This place has very kind staff, and the size of my room was wonderful, but I would not recommend that ANYONE comes here until the bug problem has been solved. I had problems every day I was here with bugs; most days I struggled just with lots of fruit flies in my room, then roaches. I included a pic of the roach that's currently chilling out in my bathtub now. Home sweet Stockton? Forgot it was Maui for a few. Some vacations certainly leave you looking forward to going home, this was one of them. An afterthought - it sucked that I also had to install my own toilet seat. I did LOVE being able to do my own laundry for free in unit!

    Dirty mattress?

Absolutely disgusting!!! Checked in at 3pm. On-site management, which is actually across the street, closed at 3pm. Went to set up the pull out and this is what I found. I would have called an after hour service to help with this problem or asked for a new room but none was provided on the company's website or on the piece of paper I was handed at check in.

This is our second time here and I am incredibly disappointed right now. We arrived today and had two 2 bedroom units reserved. My sister's unit was infested with ants and our unit has plywood on the ceiling over our shower. We have requested an upgraded unit both times and they are both in need of a serious upgrade. We also asked for upstair units and we are downstairs. I get that requests aren't guaranteed but it's been this way now the two times we've stayed here AND we made reservations and had these requests done quite awhile ago. It's just frustrating when you pay so much for a 10 day vacation to be in such a lousy room. Oh and it's also super dark. No overhead lighting and only two lamps work. It's a dismal dungeon. Location is nice, and we like the grounds. I'll go elsewhere next time. **edit** Requested to move and they offered to put us in the room my sister was in after the pest company sprays for the ant issue. With our two rooms we are paying nearly $7,000 to be in a dump. I am so disappointed Outrigger would rent a unit like this. Accommodations for a costly trip like this is a big part of your vacation. **edit** Eldorado did end up calling me later in the day offering to move us which was nice. The room difference is like night and day. I think going forward I would want to ask for a specific until and pay to get it through the owner.

The first thing I want to say about my review is that not all of the units are the same at Outrigger Maui Eldorado, but the room that we stayed in was absolutely wonderful!! When booking our trip to Maui we were looking for three main things 1. reasonable price 2. minimal crowds 3. close access to a beach Maui Eldorado met all of these needs. First the price, Hawaii in general is expensive so be prepared! That being said we felt after comparing Eldorado with many other places that this was a good economic decision. In terms of "crowds" this complex was great. There were't a ton of people running around all the time and the complex was very quiet, there were many times when we could even have one of the smaller pools to ourselves. In terms of beach access we were also just off the main drag of hotels so the beaches we had access to were less crowded. It was a very easy walk to the beach area on a paved path. It was also great because the cabana had towels and chairs that you could rent for the day. All in all we had a really great time and were quite pleased with our unit. When we find our way back to Maui someday I'm sure we will look to stay here again.

Very disappointed with this place and will never stay here again. For the amount of money they charge and all the other extra fees, it is not worth it. I trusted the name "Outrigger" and expected better quality accommodations. However, upon our arrival, the room was the unbelievably old and run down (see pics). It was apparent our condo was never renovated since the day they opened... the decor was from the early 80's. The pics on yelp showed the time share renovations rather than the rooms people booked on online. Below are the negatives and positives of Outrigger Maui Eldorado. Negatives 1) My husband discovered a cockroach in the kitchen cabinet drawers. 2) Carpet was filthy. 3) Door stop on front door did not work. 4) Dryer lint drawer dislodged while dryer was on. 5) Lamp switch fell apart. 6) Wall pics were crooked. There were nails on the walls where pics should be hanging. They didn't even try to attempt to make the room presentable to guests. 7) 7) Free parking near your condo BUT the parking lot gets full quick! The only other option to park under the parking garage but it'll be a long walk to your room. Positive 1) Staff is friendly. 2) Provided transportation via golf cart to the beach. 3) Beach is beautiful. Super clean and not rocky at all... and they provide complimentary beach chairs & towels.

First time here staying at the Maui Elderado hotel. I've always passed this property on Keka'a Drive while staying at the Royal Lahaina hotel on previous stays. I guess 2016 January was a good time to check out a new place and I'm glad that I made the right decision. The Maui Elderado hotel here in beautiful Kaanapali Maui is the 2nd time I've stayed at a multi building condo type property anywhere in the world, to my knowledge. The other time was at the Royal Lahaina resort hotel, which was basically next door, only separated by a golf course along Keka'a Drive. I must say that the Maui Elderado hotel and resort was almost felt like a gated private residential community. I guess that's what people like about condo type of accommodations away while on vacation. Feels like home, but not like a hotel room at all. There is a private 2 story parking garage for guests and a small swimming pool on property, but many people would opt for hitting the beach along the world famous Kaanapali strip, overlooking the islands of Lana'i and Moloka'i. The overall experience here was good and had a relaxing time, even though I was here for yet another race along Highway 30 on Sunday morning. I checked into the Maui Elderado hotel on Saturday, January 16 and stayed for 2 nights. Getting around the property seemed confusing at first, so having a map was nice just to get to where you are going on the first try instead of roaming around and getting lost. They gave me room 106 in the "E" building. The only problem with this stay, which I probably didn't see on my booking with hotels.com was that there was a resort fee of $14 per day, which included free parking for my rental car and a $95 per stay room cleaning few, which per the hotel, was mandatory. I'm going to assume that it was just another revenue generating mechanism for them and not just due to a necessity. That kind of made me frustrated a little bit, when they told me about the $95 per stay cleaning fee, but what can you do. I was on vacation mode, so I just let it go. Ugh for real. Be aware! The Maui Elderado hotel is priced reasonably at $160/night on hotels.com, where I had booked the reservation. They accept major credit cards, for any other hotel charges and incidentals. The room suite I received was pretty cool. It was a full kitchen, complete with a refrigerator and microwave. Cups, wine glasses, utensils, and dinnerware were in the cabinets. The room was complete with a television, a table, and a sofa bed. There was also a stove / oven combination unit, for those guests who want to cook and eat in versus eating out during their stay. Along with the king bed that was surprisingly comfortable, it was nice being here. The room was meticulously clean and well organized. Probably because of the $95 per stay mandatory cleaning fee, but still they keep it very nice for all guests who stay here. The decor of the room was nice and inviting. The bathroom area was as usually nice and aesthetically pleasing. For what it was worth, I thought that it was a comfortable stay over the dr Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend holiday 2016. There was wifi connectivity on the property, with each connection is labeled for each room. While I did not use this service, it was good to have. For what it was worth, the overall experience here at the Maui Elderado hotel was good. The check in service was good and the check out service was quick and expedient. I'd recommend staying here on your next trip to Maui, but be very wary of those hidden extra fees that they attach to your bill. Yes, you're on vacation, so you may let it slide so that your vacation may be as awesome as ever. But just pay attention to it and you'll have a wonderful stay here in Lahaina or wherever your travels on Maui may take you. 4.0 stars for sure, upgraded to 4.5. Support local! B

Maui Outrigger Eldorado was for us a great place to stay in Maui. Great location next to a beautiful golf course. Just a walk away from the black rock beach and Whalers Village. Each room comes with a full kitchen, washer and dryer so you don't have to pack much. Friendly staff service was outstanding. They also will give you a lift to the beach if you don't want to walk. If you're planning on visiting Maui keep this place in mind.

I love this place. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. The grounds are beautifully maintained. The hotel is on a golf course and 5 minute walk from the beach. Most of the rooms have their own owner so I hear they vary in style but ours is great (h100). Your own full kitchen to cut down on food costs. A laundry machine in unit to clean my beach clothes. 2 pools on premise just in case you're tired of the beach. We got to Maui, went to the grocery store and have been relaxing ever since. Bonus: the only private cabana, on the beach, on the whole island of Maui!

Our condo unit was perfect - spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, and outfitted with upscale equipment and supplies. Each and every staff member (almost) we passed or sought for info was courteous, friendly, and helpful (the two concierges at the pool, not so much). We arrived the day the second Kona low passed, yet somehow, the property looked unscathed. Management was exceptionally communicative about minor issues as they arose - everything was handled quickly. We look forward to returning and plan to stay in the same unit - none could be better!

Dump your own trash, etc. So for this type of rental, it's top notch. Here's why: The location is perfect. 5 min walk to Whaler's Village. Only 20 min walk all the way to Black Rock, the furthest beach away in the cove. Quick drive out to Highway 30. Easy, and I mean easy access to Lahaina (south) and Honolua or Kampala Bays (north). Choose if you want to shop grocery at Times or Safeway, same distance. Really perfect location. Our apartment was incredible. It didn't face the ocean but that's ok. They have some that do, or the pool. It was huge. Nicely decorated and clean. Lots of space. Two bedrooms and sofa bed. Foosball table. Beach stuff to borrow and even a wagon to haul stuff. Parking garage right there. Always found an open space. Bell hops were helpful and friendly. They got nice gym, clay tennis courts, swimming pool, hot tub, and BBQ grills. All well kept. I could go on but why? It was great condo to stay.

Rating: The minute you step foot into the lobby and see the…read morestunning views behind you, you know that you have stepped foot into paradise. From the lobby's balcony, you look out at the beautiful landscaping, the fun pools, and the beautiful ocean staring right at you. The "Magical" Highlights Let's start with the highlights, because parts of this trip were truly breathtaking. * The Beach & Black Rock: The beach was absolutely stunning and surprisingly uncrowded. The most magical part of the entire trip was wading in the water at Black Rock. Two days in a row, I had two HUGE turtles swimming around me; it felt as if they were following me and playing with me. It was the most beautiful sight I've ever encountered. * The Staff: The staff deserves a medal. Every person greets you with a "Happy Aloha" that feels genuine. My husband and I felt like we'd been best friends with the poolside bartender for years. * Housekeeping: The housekeeping staff was absolutely amazing. Every time we came back to our room, it was pristine and very clean. I made sure to leave a $10 tip every day just to let our housekeeper know that we truly appreciated her service. * The Drink: Order the "Put the Lime in the Coconut." It's $22, but it became my very best friend. The Room & The View The hallways leading to the rooms are a tad bit outdated, as are the rooms themselves. However, you are only spending about 5 to 10% of your time in your room anyway. * The Mountain View: We had a room facing the golf course, which offered the most beautiful mountain views. * The Balcony: Our balcony was only big enough to sit one person, but I truly enjoyed sitting out there every morning with my coffee. It's not worth spending the extra hundred dollars for an ocean view when the water is just a short walk away. Pro-Tips for Your Stay * The Pool Chair Hustle: If you want a spot by the pool--especially if you want one with an umbrella--be prepared to put your towels out on the lounges around 6:30 in the morning. By the time you actually head down between 9:30 and 10:00 AM, they will pretty much all be full. * The Safeway Save: I highly recommend stopping at Safeway to pick up items for your refrigerator and having some beer on hand. It helps save a little bit of money considering the other costs. * The $47 Breakfast Gamble: Be prepared to spend $47 on the all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet. Some days it's an absolute hit, others it's a bit of a mess, but the waitstaff and hostesses are always amazing. Take full advantage so you can skip lunch! * The Starbucks Struggle: Expect a 30-minute wait. But hey, who cares about the wait? You are on vacation time! The Cost of Paradise Along with your daily room charge of $600 or above, be prepared for the extras. It adds up very quickly: * $56 daily surcharge fee * $45 daily garage parking fee * $47 breakfast fee (per person) * Extra charges for umbrella and chair rentals on the beach The Verdict: If you want a great pool, a stunning beach, and turtle encounters, this is your place. If you want updated amenities and a bed that doesn't swallow you whole (ours had quite a "dip"), you might want to look elsewhere.

Stayed at Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa for a family trip. The beachfront location on Ka'anapali and…read morethe views are genuinely beautiful, and the grounds are well-maintained. There's a lot to like about the setting itself. That said, this is a large, high-volume resort, and the overall experience reflects that. Pool areas felt crowded, with frequent competition for chairs, and poolside service seemed stretched--wait times were longer than expected for a property at this price point. Food options leaned heavily toward casual, bar-style items, which felt mismatched relative to the premium pricing. Logistically, the resort is quite spread out. Getting from the rooms to the lobby or main areas can take 10-15 minutes depending on location, which adds friction--especially with kids. Some elements of the experience also felt a bit dated and less polished than expected. We also had a child who was sick during part of the trip, which certainly affected our experience, but the high-density, crowded nature of the resort made it harder to navigate that situation comfortably. Overall, this property is likely a good fit for families looking for a lively, busy resort atmosphere with lots of activity. Travelers seeking a quieter, more efficient, or higher-touch experience may want to consider smaller or lower-density options in Maui

The breakfast is packed with great, fresh food. On our last day (Christmas) the staff got together and made it to all parts of the hotel to sing Christmas carols to us guests. They were so kind and genuine. Then they showed Home Alone on Christmas night with a big projector, for all guests. The one complaint I have is actually just a design flaw. The pool (& feet) showers are PAST the pool, when guests return from the beach, which is a problem because guests that want to wash the beach sand off their feet, can often be seen dipping their dirty feet in the pool, on the way back to the hotel. This constant flow of unshowered feet causes the pool to get quite nasty, especially at the tail (pool is shaped like a cartoon whale) end. Even the best pool filter system (which they may even have) wouldn't be able to keep up with the volume of guests walking to/from the beach, so if possible, please install multiple showers BETWEEN the beach and the hotel pool.

When the lobby erupted in applause, the desk clerk explained that the power had just come back on. So far, so good. Before arriving, I had upgraded to a remodeled ocean view room for a small fee. Unfortunately, the resort's definition of "ocean view" and mine were not the same. Our room was on an upper floor, but the view was almost completely blocked by large courtyard trees. If you leaned and looked hard enough, you could see a tiny sliver of ocean off to the right. Not what I expected for an upgrade. Be very cognizant of what style of room you are choosing. Oceanfront is their best category and those rooms are very limited in number. Ocean view is a complete gamble in terms of what kind of view you will actually receive, and partial ocean view will likely mean you are looking at the backside of the hotel with a limited or possibly nonexistent view. Things got worse when we went to eat. The Maui Beach Club, the only on property restaurant, was closed for a private event. After a long travel day and a power outage, it was surprising and disappointing that the resort would close the only dining option to paying guests. I went to the front desk to express my frustration about both the room and the restaurant closure. They offered to show me my original room, but that "ocean view" required leaning over the railing and looking sideways to find a glimpse of water. I declined and stayed with the upgraded room. To their credit, they did give us a one hundred dollar resort credit for the inconvenience. For the rest of the stay, the Maui Beach Club meals were good and the staff was generally pleasant. We found even better dining options at Whalers Village, which is conveniently close. The pool, however, is nothing to write home about. It is very small, has no shade, and has no umbrellas. Guests were dragging chairs all over the property trying to find relief from the sun. It looked more like a crowded summer festival than a resort pool area. One last surprise: this is the only place in all my Caribbean and beach travels where I have had to rent beach chairs and an umbrella. Two small folding chairs and one umbrella cost eighty five dollars per day, and only until four thirty. Multiply that by a week and it adds up fast. I spoke with another couple who simply went to Costco, bought an umbrella for forty five dollars and two chairs for ninety nine dollars, and planned to pass them along to another guest when they left. Honestly, that is the smarter move. Overall, the location is great and some staff members were wonderful, but the arrival experience, misleading room categories, lack of dining access, underwhelming pool, and high beach rental fees made this stay far less enjoyable than it should have been.

We were able to hangout in the living area at night, enjoy some meals in the room, and I loved the huge bathroom. I love that they provide cleaning supplies for laundry and doing dishes. The laundry is free and there are machines on every floor. I also appreciate that they provide coffee. We enjoyed a cup in our room every morning. This location is awesome. You can enjoy both the pool and the ocean. It's super walkable to several areas nearby. You're also able to bring your own drinks to the pool, which is great. We took advantage of their Happy Hour one day, but the drinks were still $12 each. I love the boardwalk near the hotel. We walked that several mornings to enjoy a view of the beach while still getting exercise. It goes for a pretty good distance! Parking is free at the hotel. We were told Hilton will be renovating this entire building soon- once permits are approved. I'm sure it will be gorgeous. The exterior does feel a bit outdated. The pink could definitely use some sprucing up. As well as the blue tile everywhere. The staff working here are very friendly! We enjoyed everyone we met.

Even with our south facing tower room we had peekaboo views of the ocean, it was great sitting on our balcony. The room had a small fridge, a keurig a blow dryer and a safe. If you're a light packer, they have hand soap, lotion and shampoo/conditioner in large bottles. I typically pack my own but didn't this trip and it wasn't terrible using what was there. The restaurant/bar on site are fantastic. Sometimes there is a line but they usually move quickly. They have lots of food options and we ate there a few times because of the horrible storm. Power flickered a few times but the generator works and seems like even if power is lost you still have a place to eat and the elevators remain working. There is also a small coffee shop with pastries available. We went here when the restaurant had a long line and found they actually have a little breakfast trays for purchase. We tried the bacon and eggs and with a pastry on the side it was perfect. They host a luau, along with other entertainment on site including a spa! It's a great location if you don't have a rented vehicle. There is an outdoor band with a tiny bar trailer and a pool bar. There is a trolley service that travels to the nearby mall. With vehicles, you do have to pay for parking $40/day and $45/day for valet. We chose valet for convenience but the parking lot is not far, just a short walk. It was our first trip to Maui and a bummer with the storm and all the outdoor excursions cancelled but the fact that I can still give this resort 5 stars says a lot.
