After booking this Airbnb, I realized the property was actually part of the Aston Paki Maui resort on the west side -- a nice surprise since it's a well-known condo-style resort right by the ocean. We stayed in a 1st-floor unit with one bedroom (queen spring mattress), one living room, one bathroom, a full kitchen, and a small patio facing the garden. There's also free parking right outside the door, which was super convenient (though sometimes you can hear neighbors coming and going late at night). The unit was clean and comfortable. Inside the closet, they even provided snorkel gear, two beach chairs, and two beach towels, but no bath amenities like shampoo or body wash. The kitchen was well-stocked -- pots, pans, utensils, seasoning, a dishwasher, coffee maker, blender, microwave, and a full-size fridge -- everything you'd need for a longer stay. The outdoor pool and BBQ area are gated with a passcode and directly connected to the beach, so you can enjoy ocean access without the crowds at nearby beaches. There's a barrier separating the property from Honokōwai Beach Park next door, which helps keep the area quiet and private. The location is great -- across the street you'll find restaurants, a massage place, and a small farmer's market. There's also an ABC Store next door and a food truck park (Honoapiilani) about a 10-minute walk away. The only minor downside is that the unit doesn't have A/C -- just ceiling fans in the living room and kitchen, a standing fan, and two fans in the bedroom. We stayed in December and found it quite comfortable, but those visiting in summer might find it warm. There's a coin-operated washer and dryer ($2.75 each) outside on the first floor, and guests are expected to take out their own trash before the 11 AM checkout. Overall, it's a nice and peaceful place, especially suited for couples or solo travelers since it's a one-bedroom unit. Families might prefer the two-bedroom ocean-view condos in the same resort. Having two balconies made it even more special -- one off the master bedroom and another off the living room, both with incredible views. Waking up to the sound of the waves and ending the day watching the sun melt into the ocean was unforgettable. The condo itself was spotless, beautifully furnished, and so comfortable. Everything we needed was right there, and it felt more like a home than just a rental. The layout is spacious and bright, perfect for relaxing after a day at the beach. The place we stayed in has a nice renovation feel to it. Everything was clean and up to date. We had a side room which had an ok view of the ocean. The beach access has about a 3' rock wall you have to get down to the water. The only downfall was no A/C. As you know it is hot and when you come back from your daily adventures, you want to cool down. Our host had fans in every room, but it was still very warm no matter how many fans were on full blast. Bottom line is; this is a great budget friendly stay, centrally located, limited beach access, and no A/C. Great for younger people, but us older folks need some A/C! read more

Jason was absolutely amazing with making sure we could still have our reservation to attend a wedding after the Maui wildfires. The resort was everything we imagined but even better. The view you get in #109 is literally a million-dollar view. Our condo was very clean, and you could tell they take care of their property. This is a very rare opportunity to stay that close to the ocean, as now most properties are required to build further away. I honestly don't know why others are putting bad reviews about maintenance issues or not staying in an updated condo. The pictures you look at before you book the condo is what you get, but it was awesome being there physically. Jason went above and beyond to make sure this trip happened, that we were happy, and I would definitely recommend staying here if you are looking for a quiet, clean, and lovely place to stay in Maui. Aston Paki is a beautiful property, however, reading and accepting a review is not consistent with every unit, as every condo is owed and maintained by a different owner. One condo could be exceptionally maintained, updated and beautifully furnished, and the next door neighbor could be the total opposite. The one consistent in the complex, is that it is a "Air Conditioner Free" complex, so many of the units without a good breeze available will likely be really hot. The majority of the complaints you will find are about hot hot the units are. Because of the, I would not stay here again, as our unit was an inside unit not facing the beach, and had little breeze, and was terrible hot and uncomfortable. Many of units with unblocked beach facing units would be much more acceptable. Our unit was nice, clean, updated and offered everything we needed for relaxing beach visits, including beach chairs, and extra large towels. The kitchen was recently remodeled and had all the comforts of your home kitchen. Excellent location, nice pool and beach relaxation area. Beautiful sunrises. So the heat inside the unit snd no air conditioning was really my only complaint, and cause for not returning to this property. read more

Hotel was clean and right on the beach. Could hear the waves crashing while you slept. Downside the beach was Rocky and not very conducive to swimming. It came with a full kitchen which was nice as we would cook breakfast there to save a little money and kept water and drinks in there to keep them cold. We loved the view we happened to get with our time share exchange room. Only reason I gave a 4 star instead of 5 was because of maintenance issues. There was bulbs out, a fan that didn't work and lumpy pullout bed. But I added some photos of what the 1 bedroom came with. I would definitely stay here again. This is NO Ritz-Carlton, but it is the MOST affordable ocean view room you will find in Maui. I booked this hotel under a package that included a rental car, so the price per night for a week was approx. $140/night. With research, this was the best hotel condo I could book for these reasons: -free parking -free internet (free wireless interenet found in most rooms, depending on how close you are to the wireless router. Or you can use their cable internet) -cable TV -Close proximity to Front St, Kaanapali Beach, Zensations Spa =) -Daily maid service -grass lawn with seating to enjoy ocean view We stayed in a 1-bedroom, 1-bath condo that had the most amazing view from our lanai. We didn't even bother sleeping in the bedroom that faced the garden, and slept on the pull-out bed (from living room sofa) so we could fall asleep to the sounds of the ocean waves crashing. We were lucky and got a nicely updated condo - tile floors & updated kitchen appliances. Aston Paki Maui is an older complex, and I've seen some rooms that do need some updating. But you can't beat the free parking & free internet. There is NO A/C, which is common for older hotels that are very close to the ocean. My boyfriend and I went on our very first vacation to Maui and I searched all over for the best deal on expedia with our flight and hotel booked together - this hotel blew us away... Just an amazing experience overall. The name is sort of confusing since it used to be an Aston hotel but after renovating the Paki Maui is now a part of Castle Resorts & Hotels. We didn't get a room with the shore view which I didn't mind at all since the hotel is right on the beach anyway! Our room was extremely comfortable, and I love, love, LOVED the full kitchen. We saved a lot of money throughout the week by being able to cook our own meals! We visited the front desk often for help, questions about activities and personal requests and the girls were more than accomodating. They were just so helpful! Check in and check out was a breeze. The only upsetting part of our stay was that they couldn't make change for a large bill so that I could put coins into the laundry machine (but that's okay, we went across the street to one of the shops and they were kind enough to exchange us with quarters). The area along the Kaanapali coast was very relaxing and I'm glad that we chose to stay here for our very first get-away together. read more

I find the wide range of reviews for the Aston Paki amusing because every condo is different. Granted, it's not very obvious there is no A/C when we booked it, but a few Yelp reviews mentioned it, so we knew what we were in for. The layout was a little weird and not what we were expecting from the pictures online. The manager said the pictures were of the partial view rooms and not the ocean view rooms. Because there were 4 of us, we really wanted a bigger place than a standard room elsewhere, and we wanted an ocean view. We got exactly that. We got a 2 bedroom condo and the view couldn't be beat. Our condo had been updated fairly recently and it was clean. The best thing was the beach right outside the hotel. It's not a hang-out-on-the-sandy-beach beach, but the snorkeling was fantastic. We saw countless fish and other sea life including octopus and eels right in front of our hotel! It was just as good as the trip we paid for to go to Molokini. The location was great with shops and farmers market right across the street. Even though the hotel was supposedly booked, it was really quiet and we hardly ran into anyone except at the pool. At night the only sound we heard was the ocean. I think if we were trying to save a little money on our trip, we'd stay there again. read more

This was $99 a night for a condo. Can't beat it on the island. It's right on the beach. You can swim or snorkel a few steps from your room. We had a bedroom, a living room, full kitchen, and full bathroom. In room safe too! $8 for parking per day, but there is guaranteed parking, which is a plus. Easy to find, lots of shops to walk to. My return to Maui to do the 2013's edition of the Maui marathon has brought me to the former Aston Paki Maui. After learning that the property had changed ownership since 09/01/2013 upon checking in, I was like wow, when did that happen? I booked this property via Priceline.com on a wickedly good deal @ $99/night. I usually do the Kaanapali Ocean Inn, but they didn't have kama'aina rates anymore @ $99, so I scored a major deal here at the Castle Paki Maui instead. Whatever way works, I guess, since it was considerable savings from comparable properties along Kaanapali Beach and in Lahaina. The Castle Paki Maui is located in the quiet road of Lower Hoanapiili Hwy, about 2 miles away from the Kaanapali Parkway of hotels, but still has pristine views of world famous Kaanapali Beach, Molokai, and Lana'i. The Castle Paki Maui is basically a converted condo and hotel property. The suites we got were pretty good and had a full kitchen. We asked for a late check out upon checking in and it was great to get it, but we had to check out by 2pm. The check in process was smooth, but it took a while with the late check out thing. Nothing major at all, but it was just one of those extra things I suppose. The property is outdated, since we arrived there when the transition was happening and they were doing room renovations. One of the biggest gripes was that of the room / assignments. We learned that on the first floor that rooms 100-155 were on one wing and 200-255 were on the other wing - both same floor. So that was a bit annoying. You would have hoped that all the room numbers were the same and not split up as they were. We were assigned room # 315, which was on the second floor and not on the 3rd floor, which I was thinking. In any case, we figured it out eventually. We were given manual old school keys, instead of industry standard plastic key cards. I guess a few old properties are still using these - at least in Hawaii. The suite itself was clean and pretty much immaculate. The king sized bed was not really comfortable, but it served its purpose. Everything was in working order, so that's welcoming for sure. The property sits on ocean front - prime real estate to watch the sunset overlooking Kaanapali beach. The Castle Paki Maui has its own parking lot, so that's great. There's plenty of restaurants and amenities nearby to supplement your vacation needs. Overall, its a decent property and if you can get lucky with the pricing, then you are good to go. The Castle Paki Maui is good for your hard earned dollar and its just priced right. Well, get your best deal and come on over. Considering that this property is also a condo as well, it would be cool to live here as well someday. Maybe. I like this property and will consider staying here again - if the price is right. Stayed here with some friends and loved it. the front desk people were great and very helpful with any information. Their back area to hang out is nice over looking the beach. They have a BBQ grill near the pool that you can use. They has a small pool that really is not the greatest but it worked. Each condo is decorated differently, I'm assuming by the condo owners. Stayed for two nights over a weekend in May, no ocean front room as there were only two bedroom ocean fronts available and two of us traveling. Our room was on the 3rd floor (but really on the second), and faced the courtyard. You could hear the street noise faintly, but the noise from the waterfall and the koi pond was much louder and drown out most of the street sounds. Room was neat, and a little dated, but clean. No a/c, but two ceiling fans were present, one in the living room and another in the bedroom. The kitchen was nicely stocked with cups, plates, coffee machine, fridge, blender, ice trays, etc. There was a small flat screen TV in the room as well. The bathroom was adequately sized, and the water was hot. The patio was nice, but we did notice many ants crawling on the outdoor furniture. Luckily there were none in the room. Bed was reasonably comfortable. We did not cook in the kitchen or request for housecleaning since we spent most of the time at the beach and sightseeing. Front desk treated us very nicely. A small pool is available along with a hot tub and a BBQ area. Parking was $6/night. Found that it was a great value for the price, would not hesitate to stay here again. :) read more

I thought I was going to stay at a nice place. For almost $700.00 to stay 3 nights, I thought the least the place would have is an a/c since we're in Hawaii!! NOT. NO AIR CONDITIONER! I'm extremely disappointed in this place. To top it off, I called to get moved to another unit with an air conditioner and no one answers the phone nor do they return my call. I have a 4 month old baby who is usually hot as it is and to top it off he has to sleep in a tiny hot room without an air conditioner. This is so disappointing. I was really looking forward to enjoying the rest of my vacation by resting for the next 3 days but we're too hot to spend any more time in the room. Maybe we'll go to the mall or any store with a/c so the baby can be less fussy and get some cool air since the room doesn't have any cool air. Word of advise: install an a/c unit in the room and update the place. It'll sell a lot more than what it is now. Update: got a call from management and they moved us to another location. I've stayed here twice now and this place has some pluses and some minuses. On the plus side: - great views...if you're on the ocean side - great proximity to Lahaina and some great beaches on the Ka'anapali coast of Maui - the road fronting the hotel is great for running (if you're into that sort of thing) - relatively affordable depending on the time of year that you go - friendly staff and a clean room My biggest complaint is that the quality of the room vary GREATLY. The first time I stayed here with my wife and some friends we basically had a suite. The second time...not so much...even though the description of the room (and the picture that was showed online) was identical to the kind of room we had last time. I'm not a snob or anything but I was disappointed and my family was too. The room did have one redeeming quality and that was an amazing view of the ocean as well as both Molokai and Lanai. I could see myself staying here again but I would try to make sure that I was in the nicer section (which is also quieter) which the hotel calls "Phase 3." read more

Truly spectacular hotel room/condo. Stayed here with my girlfriend for a week in mid-September. For the price, I don't think it gets any better. We had an oceanfront studio with kitchen on the third floor. The view was picturesque on our lanai (no, not that Lanai, though you could see Lanai from the lanai) to say the least. As far as location, just off 30 with easy access to a few local restaurants and groceries, as well as places to rent everything from snorkel equipment and boogie boards to discounts on luaus and helicopter trips. Maid service was pleasant even they were a bit early a few days. They did not do the dishes, though we weren't expecting that. Wi-Fi in room was fast enough. They have a router in every room that requires you to put an email in every time, which was a bit quirky with my phone since I had to reconnect every time I went out. First world problems, I know. Shower and toilet were both clean and separated from the sink. Oddly, the sink seemed to be a his and hers, but only had one faucet. Not too big of a deal though. Overall, I would highly recommend the oceanfront studio for any vacationing couple in West Maui. read more

I'll start with the negative before getting to the positive in regard to our stay at the Aston Paki Maui Hotels. When we got to the hotel in the late afternoon, it was dark out already and it was impossible to find the unit we reserved as it was in a very dark area with poor lighting throughout, there is no front desk, no checkin/checkout counter, no reception area. Any issues or problems that you have would need to be addressed by making a phone call, including booking the reservation, which I did online. You are basically on your own once you get to the hotel. When we finally found the parking lot (which was surrounded by garbage dumpsters), we had to call this 800 number just to tell them that we have arrived and that we cannot find where our unit is. I had to have my phone on speaker while the assistant guided me to where the room is. We had to walk through a decrepit tunnel type area with a Coke machine to find an elevator which is difficult to do at night with a very poorly lit area. Once we finally made it to our room, there was an old looking, tiny 1 inch x 2 inch Lock box containing the key to the room. Still in dark, I had to push in a four digit pin number on this very old lock box and push down to unlock the lock box which was a very tedious and aggravating process - just to retrieve the room key! Once retrieved, the lockbox needed to be replaced by once again pushing the pins down hard to re-unlock the thing in order to reconnect it in place. Now that we finally entered the room it felt like 100° because there is absolutely no air-conditioning in the entire hotel. Not a single room had air-conditioning. It was very humid in the high 80s and we had to open all the windows and ceiling fans just to cool the place down with the outside breeze at night. The screens were very old and raggedy, and moths and other bugs kept coming in, and even a large praying mantis entered the unit which scared the crap out of me! I had to shoo it out of the room and a few little grasshoppers came in as well. I purchased some bakery items at the grocery store and when I brought them to the hotel and put on the counter near the refrigerator, a few hours later there was an ant farm that somehow got inside the unopened bakery items. Another disaster! They had an old crappy dishwasher, and when loading the detergent, I cut my finger deep when trying to lock the dishwashing detergent dispenser because it was so hard to lock it in place. Blood everywhere. Sweet! During the week, we were eating dinner in our 4th floor unit chillin' out after hiking all day, and suddenly someone lit up a pipe bomb in the courtyard of the hotel, and was so loud and powerful, sounded like an explosion fore sure and you can hear car alarms going off. I only knew it was a pipe bomb because when I called 911 right afterwards they said they got several calls about it and that it was just another pipe-bomb fireworks that went off. It is the last week of November, not 4th of July. Still, scared the crap out of everyone. The good news: if you are lucky enough, and book early enough, you might get an ocean-view unit as we did, very beautiful breathtaking views of ocean, and backgrounds. But you have to book months in advance and request oceanfront unit. The views of mountains on the other side are amazing and the hotel grounds has nice garden area- but again, no reception area, no human beings on the premises that can assist you with anything. Housekeeping (outside contractors) clean rooms daily and replace towels,etc. That is a positive because every time we've stayed at any other hotel or resort in Maui, Oahu, Big Island in past years, cleaning service comes once or twice a week if you're lucky, plus they charge extra for cleaning service. At Paki Maui they come daily and make the bed, replace towels, etc. Hope this all helps for those checking out where to stay in Maui. Just got back home last night after 6 hour layover delay in Seattle - after 5+ hours of all night flight from Maui - to get home to the SF Bay Area. Couldn't find a decently priced direct flight from Maui to SFO. The flight from SFO to Maui was direct but return was via Seattle with 6 hour delay. read more

Booked an ocean front room, but they had no room on the day we arrived, stayed at a partial ocean view for only the first night, then got moved to ocean front for the rest of our stay. The Aston Paki Maui is a very unassuming hotel, but what it lacks in luxury is made up for with the essentials, location, and overall comfort. The Aston Paki Maui is located in the Northwestern part of Maui near a lot of other hotels, motels, and other resorts. Across the street and very close by are small restaurants, an ABC store, and gas stations--all very convenient. A short drive away is downtown Lahaina which is the main shopping area with sit-down restaurants with great seaside views. I enjoyed the one bedroom my wife and I stayed in at the Aston Paki Maui. It had a full kitchen with a standard oven, microwave, refrigerator, and dishwasher, though, the appliances were a little dated, but functional. The living room had a couch, TV (with local cable), and dining table which were very comfortable after a day of sightseeing and swimming. The bathroom was probably the newest part of the room with marble counters and tile step-in shower. Some of the nicer things that were provided were daily room cleaning and beach towels by request. What the hotel lacks is what some of the higher-end and more expensive hotels would probably offer. The Aston Paki Maui does not have a gym. Sorry, not for gym rats or the active. The grounds are not expansive. The grounds aren't Vegas palace-like wide-open spaces to walk through late at night. It's basically the parking lot, hotel rooms, courtyard fountain, and small pool. This hotel still uses actual keys. Actual keys, not key cards. The door hardware that was there could use some upgrades or grease. The shower worked, but the showerhead didn't have any real adjustability. I'm just nitpicking now. If your looking for basic accommodations while staying on Maui, this place is fine, but if you're looking to be pampered and wrapped in the finest linens, look elsewhere and don't give this place a second thought. Came with everything you need including tons of towels and even cups, utensils, blender, coffee maker and coffee and cream and sugar! I was in room 424, which I saw get negative reviews but I thought it was amazing! Ocean view from the balconies and the master bed/ bed room! Tv and PS3 as well. I saw so many turtles and could even walk out next to them from the hotel, no snorkeling needed. There was normal wear and tear but nothing too bad. It was huge, enough room for two families. I was just with my boyfriend so it seemed humongous. It was one of the cheapest places to stay and it was so much more than I had expected! Nice pool and hot tub. Great location. read more

I didn't pay much attention when I booked this on Kayak.com and expected just a regular hotel. I was fully prepared for that, so I was really pleased when I discovered this was actually more of a condo setup - bedroom, full kitchen, living room, balcony (lanai), etc. We LOVED having a full kitchen and definitely didn't use it to its fullest; I mean, this thing had tons of silverware, a blender, wine glasses, everything you could want. We didn't have an ocean view (because I was being cheap) but the garden view was still nice. It was a short walk out to the beach, and I loved that there was actually a grassy area (near the pool) where you could sit & watch the ocean without having to be on the sandy beach itself. We briefly spent some time near the pool, as well, and it seemed clean & well-maintained enough. Now, the weird stuff. First of all, the bugs. I know that the "hallways" being outdoors will mean there are insects and things. However, there were spiderwebs and we almost walked right into them a few times. I felt like someone could have taken the time to maintain the appearance of the halls, getting rid of the bugs & webs & leaves. Second of all, there was a really weird situation with breakfast. The hotel itself doesn't include a continental breakfast - fine, I was aware of that. Then, when we checked in, the woman said, "For your first day here, there's a continental breakfast. Go to this room," and gave us some info. The info stated that it was for a concierge service to talk about activities, but that a breakfast would be provided at 8:30. Okay, I'll listen to some people talk for free food! So at 8:30, we tried to find the room and couldn't, so we asked at the front desk. The concierge was there and informed us that because it was raining, she didn't want to walk to the breakfast room and could just help us right there. I inquired about breakfast and she said, "Well the point is to learn about activities." Then, um, maybe don't advertise breakfast? You got free coffee in your room the first day; subsequent days you would have to pay $2/packet. There did not seem to be a hair dryer in the bathroom, which surprised me considering how many amenities there were overall. There was no air conditioning, which didn't bother me but I can understand how it might bother some people. I, for one, loved the fresh breeze & ceiling fans. I also loved the free wi-fi. The problems were certainly not dealbreakers and I'd absolutely stay here again. Our total was $773 for four nights, so about $193/night after taxes and fees. read more

This review is not for the entire complex, but mainly #201. Unit #201 is just beautiful!! The ocean views from the patios are absolutely incredible, and watching the sun set from the patio was amazing. We didn't have any issues with not having AC, since the owners gave us instructions on how to open the windows for the best cross breeze. between that and ceiling fans - perfection. The unit has easy access to wifi, is beautifully furnished, and was spotless clean when we arrived. the kitchen was perfectly stocked with anything you could need (though we mainly used the ice cream scoop and wine cork). the bed was perfectly firm, and pillows like sleeping on a cloud. I slept the most sound I have in months this past week while listening the the waves right outside... We didn't bother watching tv - but there is one large screen in the main area and another smaller tv in the master bedroom. We have absolutely zero complaints about our stay in Paki Maui - except maybe for that one tipsy couple in the pool getting a little handsy with each other. ew. I stayed at Aston Paki Maui for two nights and, to be honest, there are much better resorts in this area for less money. The woman who helped check us in was named Promise and she performed about as well as she could have given the circumstances. Perhaps the only strength of this resort is its beautiful location, but honestly every single resort that neighbors the Aston Paki Maui will share the exact same location. The condition of the room was not the greatest; a few doors didn't work and our curtains had large tears through them. Perhaps the piece that bugs me still is the fact that, according to this resort's policy, a cleaning fee is assessed for each day that you spend there in the amount of $30.00 each day. HOWEVER, the cleaning staff will only clean every 4 days which means that if you spend under 4 days at the resort, you could potentially be paying $120.00 in cleaning fees while never having your room cleaned. A part of this sounds... illegal? However, when I spoke to Promise regarding this policy she asserted that though it did not make sense, it was the policy of the resort. In short, get better value for your money by staying at a neighboring resort and you will probably receive better service and living conditions without sacrificing the view. read more

Room 123 We LOVED it! We are a family of 5 and it was great for us. The location was perfect, and nothing could beat the view. I was nervous after reading reviews of this place, but Room 123 did not disappoint. The building itself is basic, but our unit was nicely remodeled. The washer and dryer were a must!!!! We went shopping a the supermarket across the street and Costco. This saved so much money since we were able to cook and eat at "home" each day. We would go again for sure!!!!!!!! The only reason I am not giving it a fully five stars is because we could not really access the water out front. It was really rocky and not beneficial for what we wanted to do....snorkel and boogey board. We drove up the road, which was easy to do! Also, the pool is right out front which can get noisy because the doors are open (nothing beats the sound of waves and fresh air coming in). We are night owls, so it didn't affect our nights, but the early maintenance of the pool made it a little more difficult to sleep in. Again, I would still go back and wouldn't think twice about it. I recommend this to anyone who would like to have an ocean front condo at an affordable price. read more

You get what you pay for. Tip number one, request nicely to look at your room before you check in completely. We booked for October and its about 111 a night plus 8 dollars parking. Our 1 bedroom garden view room was clean and furnished okay. I was aware that they did not have AC but now regret it. It is stuffy and hot even in October. I cannot sleep comfortably when I feel sweaty and clammy. The fan helps a little and the wind is refreshing if outside but mid-day can get stifling in here and you will sweat a lot. I compared to two others I requested to look at and peeking into other's doorways and balcony. The other ones were really bad and was motel 6 quality. Check out the reviews on trip advisor and you will see a variety of reviews. I also checked out two 2 bedroom ocean view rooms which were nicer, large and roomy but outdated. For the price to upgrade 40 bucks more a night, it was not worth it to me but you can book early at Outrigger Aina Nalu for 160 a night and live in 4 star resort style accomadations. It is better to book early and request one you know is remodeled or you can end up in a hole. The 1 bedroom is very small basic dorm room/military like living. The room is not very impressive but it had remodeled tile floors and was clean. There is a nice flat screen tv in the living room. Our outside patio did not have a table to eat on but you can sit out there and enjoy the rainforest like garden view. The bathroom is tiny with a side sink, counter, and small shower and toliet with a flimsy sliding door that doesnt lock or close . Honestly, I was embarrassed to have our family members come by. Other complaints I heard about this place is true. There are ants (so tiny) that roam the kitchen and bathroom. I do not know why they do not spray or have pest control. I was scared and paranoid and put everything into the fridge. The housekeeping is not attentive. They did NOT WASH THE DISHES except once! I think if you want to eliminate ants, you should mandate your staff to put the dishes in the diswasher. How hard is that! It has been 5 DAYS SO FAR (I am currently still here) and they left my pile of dishes for myself to wash! I did not get more coffee or sugar. I have been just grabbing a few while we are out and bought my own coffee. One thing I was really irritated about is the cookware. Who uses stainless steel cookware? I tried cooking to save money and everything sticks, even when I use a lot of oil. I was really upset to have to cook and take out each thing and scrape and soak the pan each time before I use it for the next thing. There is no fan and the kitchen heats up fast! Not good when you have NO AC! I was sweating and cooking took me 3x as long as at home. GET SOME NON STICK COOKWARE PLEASE! Really, if you want to be on vacation, find a real hotel and one that is nicer than your own home. What is the point of paying for a downgrade? I have been looking for another hotel since we got here but everything reasonable is booked. I would never stay here again. Save your money and book early at a real hotel, not a condo because you are taking a risk. I have not really enjoyed myself here at all. read more

Last day of our one week stay in room 405. This place hit the mark all around. It's a low key condo complex with a private pool/spa, grass area, great ocean swimming directly off the complex and a little baby beach next door. AMAZING ocean view. Clean, super quiet and oozing in authentic Aloha spirit. When we come back to Maui there is no question where we will stay. Thank you Paki Maui. Oh and walking distance to killer local grind, and turtle viewings daily from our lanai. read more

No ac but rooms have ceiling fans. That was enough to cool the rooms along with leaving the 2 big balcony doors open. We stayed during last week of October and there was a constant cool breeze to cool the rooms. Nothing fancy but very affordable and beachfront, we had a great ocean view. We stayed at Aston Paki Maui on 9/20/19 and to our surprise the whole building have NO AC! We only stayed there for 1 night because it was too late to get another room somewhere else. We had an advanced party who came a day early & they were miserable for 2 nights! We had to find another accommodations right away. We were there for a wedding and the wedding was on a Sunday. We didn't want to be drenched in sweat before we got to the wedding and that Sunday was sooo humid!!! The amenities on the website didn't mention ANY AC at all! When we got to the unit, there were 2 electric fans waiting for us. That didn't help! You would think there would be AC in all units since Hawaii is a tropical island! But I was wrong! Even the other property in Kehei (not the same management/hotel chains) didn't have AC in the bedrooms! Our trip was wasted in moving to get better accommodations!
