The matriarch of the restaurant (or at least who I assume was the matriarch) circulated through the dining room making sure guests were enjoying themselves. Before we left, she gave my wife and daughter sunflowers from her garden, carefully prepared with the leaves removed and stems wrapped in foil. Then she sent us home with fresh zucchini. Along with everything else, these folks have figured out how to make dining personal. That's a rare feeling today, and Casa Nuova delivers it naturally. And then there's the food. The Oysters Rockefeller were outstanding. The fried mozzarella was exceptional. The Pesce Fra Diavola--with clams, mussels, calamari, and scallops--was perfectly prepared and served in a sauce that complemented rather than overwhelmed the seafood. The veal scallopini was tender, beautifully seasoned, and expertly sauced. Even our daughter's simple pasta dish was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Honestly, I'm almost afraid to go back because I don't know how they could possibly do better. Casa Nuova delivered one of the most memorable restaurant experiences I've had in a very long time. My sincere thanks to everyone at Casa Nuova for such a lovely evening.
