My protein of choice is usually beef but their version has lamb and BADEMJAN (eggplant) in place of fried potato sticks. It's a comforting stew combining tomatoes, yellow split peas, dried Persian limes and an aromatic mix of spices. My mouth was in heaven! Our appetizers were a delicious KASHK O BEDEMJAN served with pita and a generously gifted farm fresh house salad. Mom chose their incredible LAMB SHANK BAGHALI POLO. Tender fall-off-the-bone lamb paired with a richly herbed fava bean rice and a side of braised broth with more fava beans. My mom was in love! My brother enjoyed his delicious LAMB BARG which is grilled filet slices paired with herby fava bean rice (baghali polow sub). Everything is crafted in house by a remarkable, hardworking husband & wife duo--he cooks, she serves! They visit the local farmers market every week for ingredients and it shows in every dish. From the moment we walked through the door, we were warmly welcomed by Amir, the chef, and his wife, Nargis. They were both genuinely kind, gracious, and welcoming, and they represented their Persian heritage and cuisine with tremendous pride and hospitality. We ordered quite a variety of dishes, including the Persian Hearty Green Herb Soup, Green Salad, Okra Stew, Chicken Koobideh, Chicken & Beef Combo, along with rice, Naan, and Persian bread. Everything arrived hot, fresh, and beautifully prepared. It was obvious that each dish was made to order, with care and attention to detail--and most importantly, with love. One unexpected standout was Amir's homemade spicy Thousand Island sauce. It was absolutely delicious! I even joked with Amir that his sauce was so good, "You could put it on an old leather shoe and it would probably taste great!" That should give you some indication of just how much we enjoyed it. Beyond the food, however, what truly made the evening special was the hospitality. Amir and Nargis are incredibly hardworking, genuine, and gracious people who clearly care about their customers and take great pride in sharing their food and culture with others. On multiple occasions, I've found gritty, sand-like debris and burnt grill residue in my food. It gives the impression that the grill isn't being cleaned properly, and it's made the food unpleasant to eat. I've also experienced customer service that I felt was unwelcoming and inconsistent, leaving me feeling as though I wasn't treated with the same level of respect as other customers. Because of these repeated issues, I can no longer recommend this restaurant or continue dining here. I hope the owners take these concerns seriously by improving cleanliness, food quality, and customer service so the restaurant can return to the standard it once had.
