I was in Mississauga to run a couple of items and I needed some lunch. I pulled out my Ritual app while seated in my car that was parked in front of a Shoppers Drug Mart. I found Hakka Chilli and gave it a try. My benchmark when I visit a Hakka eatery is to try the chilli chicken. I got it mild and with gravy. If you do it dry, it's a whopping $2 more. You don't get any rice with this dish, with or without gravy. So, I ordered a small order of rice. I also needed to get a Diet Coke to put out a potential spicy fire. The estimated time that my order would be ready was in fifteen minutes. I was fifteen minutes away from the place by car. Perfect! This restaurant is in a plaza with a ton of other eateries. There was plenty of parking. I parked and walked in. I was greeted by a man at the front. I said my name and indicated that I was picking up my order. He had it right next to him and handed it over. I took a photo of the party tray prices in front of me and he let me know that it was also available online. That's helpful, although it's nice to have a snapshot of pricing in November 2020. I thanked him and happily took my food over to my car. I was hungry that I drove to a quieter parking lot to eat. Yeah, forget figuring out where a nearby park is. I need to resolve my hunger pangs immediately! The chilli chicken had sauce -- a lot of it. It's good in my books. It also had a couple of bell pepper chunks and lots of onions. I normally don't care for bell peppers in my chilli chicken, but here were only two and I was good with it. Here's something different. The rice wasn't your usual short grain version. It was basmati rice. It was a first for me. I was impressed. The small was a generous size. The rice was fluffy and done right. I basically spooned the lightly battered chicken morsels with gravy onto my rice as I chowed down. Delicious! There were lots of green chillies for mild chilli chicken, so that's my tip for you. Go mild for the first time and see how you feel. If you need more spice, you can jack it up next time. The mild was perfect for me. The place also gave me spicy condiments if I needed more heat. The chicken was tender and juicy. I like a light batter on chicken, which this place does nicely. The gravy was flavourful. I enjoyed every bite and coating my basmati rice with gravy. My favourite Hakka dish is spicy garlic chicken. I am hoping that the hot garlic chicken on the menu is what makes me happy. I will definitely order it the next time I am here and see how I feel. Oh, and the Diet Coke was fine. =) (410)

For those who wanted a try a good Indo-Chinese cuisine, Hakka Chilli might just be the right place. This restaurant is located on Hurontario and Eglington so getting to this place is super easy on GPS. This restaurant was earlier called as WANG's KITCHEN. During this Covid time as expected there are good precautionary measures handled by the owners. The inside of the restaurant looked a little dull which may be because there is no Dine In due to Covid. We ordered for chicken fried rice, chicken lollipop & chicken Manchurian. The taste of the fried rice got me nostalgic because it was very similar to the taste I ate at Wang's kitchen in Chennai, India. The meat in the chicken Manchurian was very soft and cooked to perfection. The chicken lollipop was a little different in taste from the traditional flavor with a pinch of sweetness at the edge. The price of the items were about 50 cents more than the average tag for a fried rice but they beat that on the quantity of the food they provided. In my opinion, this restaurant is a must try for Indo-Chinese food lovers because you just might be surprised with this hidden gem of a restaurant.

We drove all the way to Canada from Buffalo to have a taste of this famous and well reviewed Indo Chinese restaurant. It took us around 2 hours to reach and with my rumbling stomach, I was too excited and impatient to dig into their food. We ordered the American Chopsuey with chicken, Chilli chicken with gravy and Hakka chicken noodles. The food arrived very promptly to our surprise. The taste of the food was good, not great. The chili chicken wasn't very spicy, the vegetables were fresh and had a lovely crunch to them. The gravy was yummy. The hakka noodles were a good choice as well--fresh and non oily. My husband ordered his favorite Chopsuey and he wasn't disappointed, however he was surprised to see a broccoli in his chopsuey. The quantity of the food was huge and we asked for boxes to carry it back home. I would rate it a 4/5. I wish it was more palatable but it still did a good job satisfying our Chinese cravings for sure. The decor is pretty simple and the lady catering to us was nice. Overall, a one time visit and we will just explore other options next time. Update: We came back home and had a late night dinner again and the food tasted sooo good. The quantity is soo much that we also saved a lot for a lunch for two. So basically the quantity made up for all the lost one star and the taste was exactly the same. Or dare I say, it tasted even better and not like cheap chinese take out.

They have a good selection of the menu. Also large portions of the food they serve .. we ordered fried rice, shanghai chilli potatoes, chilli fish was a bit down and pricey but overall it was a great experience in terms of food quality and service!

We ordered lunch for work off the 'Business Combo'. This place has the worst food ever!!! 99% of my colleagues didn't like it, that 1% is the person who suggested this place. I got the szechuan chicken with vegetables hakka noodles, the noodles were like Mr. Noodle!!! I paid $9 to eat a pack of .25 cent Mr. Noodle! I can't believe people consider this chinese/hakka food. The portions were small too compared to the other chinese/hakka restaurants we usually order from, I got like 5-6 pieces of chicken, but regardless this place is a no, no and never eating anything from here again. Picture proves it.

I would not say the best place for indo-chinese but this is decent place with good service and food. For appetizers the monchow soup did impress us, but the spring rolls were very basic and nothing outstanding that we want't to have them again. In the main course I liked the vegetarian Manchurian. Fried rice and hakka noodles were average. Should mention that they serve huge portions. I will visit again to try the several other items on the menu .

Chicken lollipops with their sauce on the side

The Indo Chinese food was pretty good. We ordered the chicken lollipops (5/5), chicken manchurian dry (4/5), hakka noodles (5/5), tandoori fried rice (3.5/5), veg spring roll (2/5). The service was pretty good as well.

Staffs were friendly but they need to have more staffs to work. Only 2 servers and they had to do the cashier, clean the table, bring the food to the table, take the orders on site and on the phone. The food was not so I would say the extra taste It was just a regular fast food. I saw a lot of people take the corn soup maybe something you might want to try if this is their specialty.

Thinking we were having Chinese food it turned out to be Hakka. Service was very slow we had to ask for water and utensils. Food was ok. I have had better. Would I go back?? Not really. The manchurian fish was the best. The lamb did not taste like lamb. So God knows what it was.

    American chop suey
    Michele L.

I have been to Wangs in the past. However my most recent experience has helped me decide to never come back again. The restaurant was near empty. There were more ppl working than customers during our meal. The notable item ordered was the Vegetable American chop suey. It was absolutely disturbing.it was sweet and sour sauce by the bowl. If you can, please do yourselves a favour and remove the dish from your menu.

The place is very tiny and there isn't much seating so you may have a tough time getting seating at lunch or dinner time. But regarding the food, its a nice fusion of Chinese and Indian dishes. A lot of the dishes are very spicy so you may need a lot of water and/or rice if you're not used to it. Overall, I really enjoyed the place if you're looking for good, spicy Asian food.

Shanghai Rice and Noodles (Veg) $9.45.

They were quite busy with takeout orders which I took as a good sign. We ordered the Beef Sirloin Noodles level spicy and numb(4/5), Breaded Shrimp (5/5) Seafood Fried Rice (4/5) and Lamb Skewers (4/5). Beef Sirloin Noodles were delicious. The broth itself was not overly salty compared to other places we've been to. I enjoyed the addition of peanuts to this dish for that extra crunchy texture and nutty taste. The noodles were cooked perfectly. They were bouncy and chewy. The beef itself was good. Some were a tad bit chewy. I wish there was more bok choy. We'd also opt for extra spicy and extra numb next time. Breaded Shrimp was enjoyable. You can't go wrong with this dish. It was crispy, and the batter to shrimp ratio was decent. Seafood Fried Rice was good as well. Again, we liked how it wasn't overly salty. We were able to sense the taste of the seafood. I wish they added more scallops since we only got two pieces in the whole dish. Lamb Skewers were satisfying flavour-wise. We really liked the seasoning on them. It was on the chewier side but it was manageable. We'd like to try their other skewer options next time. Overall, such a good spot for affordable and delicious food. I'm glad my family recommended this place. I'd like to point out that a customer was being problematically entitled and rude yet the female server stayed professional. I thought she handled the situation quite calmly which I wanna commend her for. P.S. The restaurant has a sign on their door saying not to bring pets inside. So please read this and try not to bring your pet inside to avoid looking entitled and rude.

It is a nice local spot to get your Chinese food cravings fixed. Their menu seems to be the same for all locations, the only difference being the price, all locations potentially the same other than the downtown location. See their website: https://www.congeequeen.com/menu.php and select your location. It has been a while since we have eaten at the Congee Queen outside of the Toronto (Dundas/Yonge) location, so we were a bit surprised at the price difference (8-10% difference). This location (Heartland Town Center) feels like it has the right price for the menu. With cash, you also get a 10% discount. We were here on a Wednesday for an early dinner around 15:30 - 17:00 and it was about medium full for the main area. People were coming and going at a good pace. For our group of four, we ordered: - B3 Salmon Congee $11 ($12 downtown) - H11 Chicken Salted Fish Fried Rice $18.25 ($19.75 downtown) - K34 Fried Bean Curd with Veggie $19.50 ($21.50 downtown) - K42 Salt and Pepper Squid $16.50 ($18.25 downtown) - K53 Fried Chili Turnip Cakes $13.75 ($15.00 downtown) Service was a bit slow, but not the longest as there were only 2-3 staff taking orders that day for about 15-20 tables. If you signaled for assistance, they will come. Once ordered thought, the food came out in about 5 mins and all the dishes were ready soon after. Tea is refilled on request, just ask. As usual, the fried rice and congee is what they are known for, it was excellent as usual. Depending on the group you go with, YMMV, but for our order combination, this usually works comes out at the same time and everything is hot and tasty. The turnip cakes are the softer type and they even accommodated checking for shrimp. They are usually good about seafood checks. All in all, great experience. With the discount and tips all in, it was less than $100 total at $25 per person. It has been a while since we've eaten out with a group at that price point. Will keep in mind to meetup at any of the non downtown locations in future.

I was missing my time in Taiwan so I ordered the Taiwanese Braised Pork and Egg on rice. We also ordered Pumpkin Pie with Red Bean Filling, stir-fried rice noodles with bean sprouts, Juicy Chinese Pork Burger, and their Juicy Cheese Beef Burger. Everything was quite good especially the Chinese Pork Burger. The outer shell was so crispy and the pork meat was so juicy and was seasoned just right. The Taiwanese Braised Pork rice was good but definitely not as good as in Taiwan lol. Also, if coming here, you have to try their signature pan fried buns. That is what they are known for. We didn't order it this time because we've had it a bunch of times already. Overall, this restaurant always hits. It's not the most amazing food but like the name suggest, It is very home style comfort food.

I've lived in Toronto, Durham, Peel and I can definitely say its been the hardest to find goood late night greasy Chinese food here in the Port Credit end of Mississauga. I'm still on the hunt! Customer service here was great. I called asked a few questions, than went in and grabbed a menu and went back to my car. Called over the phone and ordered she didn't know it was me and asked if i knew where they were located which was nice. So My order was General tao chicken ( we usually get chilli chicken but don't like it dry, prefer the sauced up spicy, so this is the equivalent at some places), chicken balls, chicken fried rice, and chicken wings. The total was about 40$, which is fair and the portions were alot less to what I was used to. The general tao chicken was not even a little bit spicy, even though she said it was so that was disappointing. On top of that the breaded part of the chicken was extremely soggy and the plate was full of soggy over cooked veggies underneath. the chicken wings were fried and greasy tasted great and well seasoned. Just not like what I'd usually get from a Chinese take out place as it just looked different the way it was breaded and fried. The rice was in a really small container w under cooked pieced of chicken that was very slimy and white and the rice was very bland. I had to overkill w soy sauce and bit of red sauce. Lastly the chicken balls of course 80% balls 20% chicken but tasted fine, just nothing special. I mean it was cheap and last minute but i definitely feel like i would not have ordered here if i had known cheap or not. They have alot to improve on or mayb they are better at making other items listed in reviews from others. Not sure how they have 5 stars. but hey to each their own right!
