Still the farmers market that's the largest in Manhattan, and with the best variety. There are over…read more50 vendors from regional producers, bringing baked goods, coffee and tea, flowers, candles, herbs & spices, condiments, meats and charcuterie, dairy and cheeses, all sorts of seasonal fruits and vegetables, bath and beauty items, specialty foods like honey, kimchi, wine & beer. There's also a section of local artists selling things like tshirts, knickknacks, art pieces like paintings and collages. Regardless if I buy anything, I just love walking around the market looking at all the fresh, colorful produce, thinking of what delicious dishes could be made from the plethora of ingredients. Many top restaurants in the city book directly with vendors here, which says something about the quality of the products. Still open Mon, Wed, Fri & Sat. Usually the most vendors on Saturday I think. From 8am to 6pm, though on certain days depending on weather some vendors might start taking down their stands earlier. For more info: https://www.grownyc.org/greenmarket/manhattan-union-square-sa

The fruit and veggies are always so fresh and there's so much to pick from for great prices. Yes farmer's markets are more pricey but if you think about it it's really not when you can get so much more and better quality! There's a great variety of goods not just food. The vibe is always a lot of fun and classic staple to the city.

Let the buyer beware!…read more Go here for produce, not landscaping services. Trees they provided and planted died in less than 2 weeks after following their watering guidelines. Contacted owner multiple times, sent pictures of trees and their leaves which were brown and brittle. They initially said my neighbor poured bleach on them (not true, the other plantings I purchased from them and they planted in the exact same area, didn't die). Then they said I overwatered, which, also not true, leaves would have been yellow, not brown and brittle. All the while, the owner assured me and told me not to worry, they'll bloom come spring and they'll be beautiful. Now spring comes, 9 months later and nothing blooms. They said they offer a 3 month warranty, this is over 9 months. Reminded them that I told them that there were issues with these trees within the first two weeks of planting and was told all along, it's all good, not to worry. Their solution... come buy more trees and we'll split the cost. Filed a complaint with the BBB and sent a demand letter for my money back or I will file a small claims court action. A few telephone calls back and forth from them asking me to come and buy new trees, they'll split the cost with me, I, declined and ultimately, was hand delivered a check for the amount I requested in my demand letter.

Prepared food vendors include a couple of Mexican fruit stands and King David Tacos. I recommend the fish tacos. There are at least three or four vendors selling high quality produce, a couple of meat vendors including duck, and farm fresh eggs. There are a couple of bakeries and blended honey from Remsburger's. I've been obsessed with their cranberry honey! They give out samples and even have little pixie stix for the kiddies that are only a quarter. A surefire way to keep eager and excited that kids occupied while you make the rounds, lol. One of the farmers has tons of apples. Surprise , its New York state- but they also have apple cider and cider donuts which you can get plain or sugared. It's best if you go to them when the market first opens. That's when they're actually close to warm and tasty. Otherwise it's just dry and no amount of apple cider is going to help. For entertainment, there's usually a couple of bus game musicians. The last time I went there was a saxophonist and what sounded like a Appalachian fiddling group. Another time they had a marimba player and they were really really good. Check out the video!

I normally shop during the day time and have never had an issue, but I decided to pick up groceries at 10pm and I couldn't believe how I was being treated. I had a cart full of groceries and he still felt it necessary to follow me around like a criminal. Before checking out I stopped by the door to pick up flowers, the security guard looked at me and then came and stood in front of me. He pretended to fix something but it was very obvious he was watching me. I got to the register and he went up to the cashier, looked at me and whispered something in the cashiers ear. As I was leaving and waiting for my car, he followed me outside and stood there watching me, to the point where I finally had to say something because I was so uncomfortable. Imagine spending your hard earned money, on overpriced groceries to be treated like a CRIMINAL! I spent almost $200 and was followed around like a suspect. I took a look at their reviews from other locations and I am not the only Black/brown person who has been racially profiled at their stores. If you are a minority I would not recommend shopping here or at any of their locations.
