I was hospitalized four days at Long Beach Memorial for a torn hip flexor . The staff at the hospital set up an appointment with this doctor and he informed us that I should call his office for an appointment for a steroid injection in the pelvis. I called him over the next four days and only got an answering machine. Finally on the fourth day at last a receptionist answered the phone. She told me that even though the doctor had agreed to treat me that I needed a different level of care. Basically he just didn't want to administer the injection. So he kept me waiting in excruciating pain and didn't feel my care was worth his time even to notify me. Even after the physician at the hospital informed him of the horrific pain I was suffering. He let me to endure the pain when I could have made an appointment elsewhere. I wouldn't recommend this person to treat anyone you care for. I'm not a regular Yelper, but I logged into my account for the first time in years because I feel like I have to share my story. I don't know where Dr. Hajaliloo got his M.D., but he definitely has a Ph.D. in scam artistry. I don't have health insurance, and I needed to get my collarbone fracture looked at about a week after the night of my injury to see if it was setting okay. All I needed was an x-ray and maybe a prescription refill, because I was downing Vicodin like crazy to dampen the excruciating, agonizing pain. The first sign of Dr. Hajaliloo's scam artistry was the fee. He wanted $250(!) BEFORE examining me, BEFORE knowing what I needed from him, even BEFORE learning what my injury was. The second, and more egregious, sign was the lack of an x-ray machine at his clinic. For $250, he told me that he couldn't tell me anything about my fracture without an x-ray and that I needed to go to another location (when I was in seeing-stars pain from taking three steps, let alone sitting in a vibrating car) to get x-rayed elsewhere at my own expense. I understand that x-ray machines might be expensive, but HOW DOES AN ORTHOPEDIST NOT HAVE AN X-RAY MACHINE? If your job is to look at bones, how do you do that without an x-ray machine in your clinic? So during the FIVE-MINUTE CONSULTATION for which he charged me $250(!) -- because this man has to gall to charge his patients $50/minute -- he told me NOTHING about my injury and added insult to my injury by instructing me to get the x-ray elsewhere and come back next week for the x-ray results in another five-minute visit, for which he would've charged me ANOTHER $250. He then left before I could ask him about the prescription refill. I told a nurse that I'd like to see the doctor again because I didn't get to ask all of my questions and I wanted to offer the doctor some constructive criticism regarding his brusque bedside manner. The nurse came back five minutes later to say that the doctor refused to see me again. Needless to say, I never returned. I had a MUCH better experience at Dr. Philip Sobol's clinic in Westchester. It was admittedly a lot more crowded than Dr. Hajaliloo's office, but they had several doctors in attendance, all of whom had impeccable bedside manners, and more importantly, an x-ray machine in the clinic. It also cost $170 (NOT $250) for a thirty-minute visit, and they only charged me AFTER my consultation, based on what I needed from them -- an x-ray reading, a nerve damage test, a new shoulder sling; my x-ray cost extra ($55). I can't recommend the doctors at Dr. Sobol's clinic enough, and I can't recommend Dr. Hajaliloo less. read more

Don't understand why I bother making an appointment here at 3pm and dont get seen until 430pm. Worst waiting time ever! Once the doctor sees you, he is rushed and spends less than 5 minutes with you. Definitely do not recommend this place! read more

I wonder why Inkoo K. didn't go back to the first 'doctor' who prescibed the Vicodin. And, if you have no insurance, why not go to a hospital for an x-ray. sounds like you just wanted more Vicodin. We had to find a new doctor to see my 4 year old son (he has CP) after his previous doctor, Dr. Leah Pike, said she could no longer see CP patients. I was really nervous. I had a horrible experience trying to get in with Dr. Cunningham. I read Dr. Hajaliloo's Yelp reviews and was nervous, but decided to see for myself. He was great. He was patient, personable, and when I asked my son afterward what he thought, he said "the doctor is grrrrrreat!" I'm so happy we decided to give him a chance. Additionally, he wasn't "surgery-happy" and did not jump to invasive measures with my son, which is exactly the kind of doctor I wanted. I'm really, really pleased with our experience. I wish there were more than 5 stars to give to this amazing doctor. My 23 year old son broke his collar bone and did an amazing job in fixing it. He's got the best bedside manners a doctor can offer. I recently worked in the medical field and came across many doctors. He's one of a kind. He explained the procedure thoroughly and made us feel at ease that he'd fix it and make it good as new. Dr. Haj performed ACL surgery on both of my children (my son when he was 18 and my daughter at 16). He is very knowledgeable and has a great bedside manner. He put them both at ease. He kept us informed and took his time in the operating room. The surgeries were both successful. read more

I saw Dr. Haj seven years when I had a rotator cuff tear in my left shoulder. The pain was so unbearable that I was glad to see him. I saw him for the first time as a new patient and his bedside manner and office is clean and he loves his patients. I was scheduled for surgery approximately four weeks after I saw him. I had surgery and was then discharged from the outpatient surgery deparrtment at Long Beach Memorial Hospital. I saw him a week later and he gave me a paper to go have Physical Therapy for six weeks. I went to California Rehabilition Therapy and Sports Medicine for my therapy - they are the Physical Therapy group that Dr. Haj refers his patients to. Everyone there was so nice and I felt at home. read more

I wish the internet and Yelp! were as prevalent as they are today back in 2004 when I first had met with Dr Hajaliloo...... Dr. Hajaliloo and his team left a WASHER inside of my body while performing a procedure. How did he discover this? When he threw my x-ray on the board, saw the washer, and proclaimed "Well, this is embarrasing!" Made it seem like it was no big deal at all, and never removed the washer. After this, he performed 2 unnecessary operations while I was still under my mother's health insurance, knowing she has had medical problems her whole life and a former worker for the State of California with great benefits. The first operation did not work, so he did the second one FAR MORE AGGRESSIVELY! He wanted to try a THIRD time, sending me to one of his "friends" who told me they wanted to twist my foot 45 degrees inward and that would correct my knee, but I would have to walk around like a duck all day. I have been to multiple doctors since that have told me that he would have known that the operation wouldn't work if he took the correct x-rays. Dr Hajalioo has made my life a living hell. Everytime I bend my knee past 90 degrees it dislocates. I walk around daily with the pain of metal in my body leftover from surgery. He is a very bad man, stay far away from him and his shoddy business practices! read more

Dr. Hajaliloo has been a wonderful doctor to my thirteen year old son. He is friendly and has a wonderful bed side manner. He did a wonderful job operating on my son's arm. His office staff is very nice too. I highly recommend Dr. Hajaliloo. read more

Office staff is unprofessional and uncaring. Phone calls left me tears. My 85 year old mother was hit by a car and referred to Dr. Hajaliloo by the ER on Catalina Island where she lives. The situation was urgent with multiple injuries to ankle, knee and hands. The office made me wait two days then referred her to another Doctor. The office staff said that they could not see her (after the two days) because they were a pediatric office which is not true. When I questioned this the office staff was RUDE saying they could not talk to me. It was scary enough to have my mother seriously injured. The logistics of getting an elderly injured woman from the island to Long Beach is difficult enough. This office is in the business of making money not caring for patients. Terrible read more

I did not feel like he had any passion for his job at all. As an athelete I expect my doctor to do his best to get me back in action as quickly and safely as possible. I went in suffering of knee pain, after waiting well over 40 min, Dr Hajaliloo looked at me for less than 5. His advice wear a brace and stop working out. I walked out of his office and went straight to get a 2nd opinion. The 2nd doctor discovered the problem came up with a solution and after some agressive P.T. I am back in action. No doctor that advises patients to stop working out and doing what they love should be listened to. It scares me that people with his lack of passion and care are allowed to practice medicine. I do not feel that I am being unfair in saying he is the worst doctor I have ever been to for any reason. read more

My daughter broke her femur when she just turned 4 and we were out of town so the Doc in Lake Havasu splint it and we drove home ( they had no orthopedic specialist there) so we got back in Long beach and got the best orthopedic specialist in Doc H. He came highly recommended by my mother in law who is a nurse and all the nurses caring for my daughter said he was the best. He has a great bed side manner and was very personable and funny. He made this horrible ordeal so much better. He reassured me and that really made me feel better about her surgery. He managed to set her break without cutting into her and he even put a matching spica cast on her favorite stuffed animal so she felt better about being stuck in one for the next couple months. She healed up perfectly and is now in dance, soccer, softball and gymnastics with no lasting effects. You won't regret seeing him he is great! read more
