I've followed her over from their previous location on Central Avenue to their new spot, where they're currently at off King Road. I love the layout and design of their new spot. The decor is so chic and modern; all of the furniture is cozy too. The entire salon is very warm and inviting. There's plenty of parking and they offer complimentary coffee, tea, and soda when you visit. As for the service: impeccable. Crissey has been cutting and styling my hair since I was a little girl. She does a phenomenal job and always gives me her honest opinion whenever I want to try a new style or color. The prices at Texxture a Salon are comparable to other salons in the area and better than most of the Sylvania-based salons. The products they use are top-of-the-line and I always leave the salon feeling and looking amazing. So if you're looking for a new salon or a new stylist, give Texxture a Salon a try! Darla is such a skilled esthetician--she took the time to assess my skin's needs and customized every step, from the exfoliating treatment to the soothing facial massage and mask layering. My skin felt completely renewed and glowing afterward! I honestly can't remember the last time I was that relaxed--I almost fell asleep! Her arm and hand massage melted all the tension out of my body. Darla is also very knowledgeable and took the time to educate me on skin health and care, which I really appreciated. Also, my second appointment, the stylist was late getting me back and there was no apology for my time wasted. The shampoo experience was also very rough and painful. When I had my first appointment, I did full highlights, which cost around $80.00. The 2nd appointment, we only did a partial, but for whatever reason, it cost more for the partial highlight than the full.

I came here because it's at least 1/3 of the cost of a regular salon. I got my hair lightened with a balayage service. It came to a little under $100 and I am very happy with it! The only downside is that it takes a long time. You have to take Into consideration this is a school. They have to get teachers to check and it takes time. If you value money over time give it a try.

When it was time for a touch up I scheduled with the same student because I knew she did great work. I had to schedule on a Saturday because of my work schedule, so it was scheduled 2 weeks out, no problem. I show up 2 weeks later on Saturday for my appointment and they tell me the student I scheduled with wasn't there and said they would put me with someone else. I said no thank you I'd like to stay with the same person, I rescheduled for a Saturday another 2 weeks away. The day of my appointment which was at 8:45, I get a call at 8:15 telling me the student isn't available and they want to reschedule. Absolutely not! Now I've been waiting a month and I'll reschedule for another 2 weeks to just have it happen again? I thought that part of this school was teaching professionalism? This definitely would not fly in a professional salon. I'd rather pay 3x the cost and have it done when I schedule than save some money and be rescheduled 3 times. A little more notice would be better for those they reschedule in the future.
