Moved to Cokato a year ago and have been trying different places. Until now all were disappointments. Kayla at Broadway was outstanding! Listened to what I was looking for, used old school cutting techniques, and was meticulous about getting the cuts just right. For someone that is 20 something she was very skilled. Impressive. Could have been more conversation but appreciate that she was focused on the job. I'll be going back. Thank goodness, I was thinking I'd need to start driving down to Bloomington for my cuts.

I had a lot of hair loss after my last pregnancy and so this was incredibly disheartening and made me fearful of being turned away again. Well, after a lot of encouragement from my husband to try again I tried Bliss. My stylist was Melissa and she was absolutely great, she was upset that no one wanted to cut my hair in town and took care of me. She made suggestions to help me make a good decision on my cut and color and what she would recommend for my future hair. I am incredibly grateful and will follow her advice. Thank you so much!

I paid more for the same service with different nail techs. I have been coming here for my hair,…read moreand three weeks ago, I got a gel manicure for the first time. Today, I returned for the same gel manicure service. Because my previous nail technician was unavailable, I was paired with a different tech. Unfortunately, this experience was terrible. I was charged extra for "acrylic removal," even though there was no acrylic left on my nails. My previous technician had already cut the old product off, and my nails were bare. When I explained this to the new technician, she insisted that my nails would look better after the removal and forced the extra charge. Instead of standard acrylic removal, she simply filed my natural nails down so aggressively that she caused wounds, open sores, and bleeding on multiple fingers. Filing is a standard part of any nail service, yet I was upcharged for it under the guise of acrylic removal. In the end, the manicure looked horrible, and my hands were left bleeding and injured. I ended up paying over $60--more than I usually pay for a full set of gel or dip with acrylics combined elsewhere.

My experience at this salon is this stuff lawsuits are made of. If I could rate in the negative, I…read moremost certainly would. On February 15th, my mom and I came to relax on the anniversary of my sister's death and I walked out of my pedicure with a 2nd to 3rd degree chemical burn on the back of my left leg that is ridiculously large. I was encouraged by a friend and my doctor to file an incident report, so I called the salon to do as much. I was told by the manager that I would receive a phone call from Wendy, owner, which I did. I was told by the owner no only that they supposedly don't take incident reports (which I find hard to believe considering that they have to be licensed and inspected...) but the owner also had the audacity to tell me that I was lying about receiving the burn at her salon. Let's be honest- if I had come into her salon with an undressed chemical burn on my leg wanting a pedicure, there is no way on earth their staff would have worked on my legs/feet because of the liability for the spa! Now, I'm a lot of things, but a liar is not one of them, and as a business owner, she should be ashamed of how she treated myself and my mother who has spent thousands of dollars over the course of several years as a loyal patron prior to this incident. I literally had nothing to gain by trying to file a report except to make sure I had things in order in case the wound got infected. We didn't ask for our money back or anything. It seemed as though Wendy really thought I was making something up so as to get a free pedicure? I can't say for sure what she was thinking, but her demeanor was appalling. Now it's summer time, and after months of healing (I was dressing the wound twice a day for two months- and yes, after I delivered my son my nurses and doctor took a lot of care to make sure my wound wasn't infected and was healing okay) people are starting to ask what happened to my leg, and it's honestly embarrassing. The scar is going to be large and unsightly. You can bet I will also be filing a complaint with the MN Board of Cosmetology. If you are serious about supporting small businesses with hardworking and kind owners, look elsewhere.
