BEWARE: CHARGES FOR GREAT LENGTHS EXTENSIONS BUT USES CHEAP HAIR!!!! This lady is the WORST!!! Unprofessional, unorganized, and dishonest. I had what was supposed to be Great Lengths Hair Extensions done with her. First of all, she cancelled my consultation last minute, then cancelled my actual appointment the day of because she didn't have the hair. She had already taken my deposit so I agreed to reschedule. When I got to my appointment she wasn't there yet (there is no receptionist btw- which makes things even more unorganized) a female Danny Devito barked something to the effect of "Devon not here yet, sit there" Devon showed up about 15 minutes later and quickly showed me a small amount of my hair extensions.
Throughout my appointment she would bring out small amounts of the hair extensions from the back. (I've never had a stylist do this before. Normally, they show you all of your hair extensions and leave it out.) When she was finished it looked nice however, after the first wash I noticed it was off, the quality was NOT the same. The hair tangled, broke off, and was coarse. The color faded and became much lighter after washing it. When I reached out to Devon she was out of town and wouldn't be back for 2 weeks. She wouldn't refer me to anyone so I went to two different Great Lengths salons for help. Both salons knew of Devon and did not believe she used Great Lengths. The owner of one informed me that they are not really great lengths extensions. She warned me that stylists like Devon will use cheap hair instead of Great Lengths but still charge you for Great Lengths...It's a total scam! The owner also informed me that the stylists who are legit will show you the Great Lengths logo on the bonds so that you know its REALLY Great Lengths! Please do your research!!!! I would not recommend this woman to anyone! Waste of time and money!
FYI-
The salon itself is weird. The decor is reminiscent of Ikea. Stylists are an odd bunch. Like an old whack pack who may or may not of had their day (albeit many decades ago). Including one who chooses to dress like a Keebler elf. They are frumpy and some including Devon wear hats/berets-odd choice for a hair stylist. They don't offer any refreshments. The water you'll receive is luke warm and straight out of the facet. Not a big deal if you're getting a quick hair cut but when you're there for several hours for hair extensions it's a different story! With other Great Lengths salons fresh coffee, tea, ice water is a given AND lunch is provided. Of course this was NOT offered with "Kinky D" Devon.
Another thing is Devon didn't provide an aftercare kit. Normally, you're sent home with a kit that includes shampoo, conditioner, hair brush & hair ties ect Not a big deal but it's definitely a nice touch!
Oh and of course "kinky d" Devon will try to blame the garbage hair on you! She asked me what shampoo I was using and how I was brushing it?? Because, you know she couldn't admit she used cheap hair and ripped me off... She is a real BS artist!!!
And, you can bet most of the reviews (ALL of the non recommended reviews & removed reviews) are written by "Kinky D" herself! read more
