I was in desperate need of a haircut and I needed to find a new place that could take care of my hair with layers, full highlights, and a cut for a decent price. The hair salon doesn't take appointments but they take walk ins. I heard that they did take reservations when it comes to highlights but there was a weird miscommunication about that. We were able to be served that day but an hour later which was perfectly fine. I love how friendly and professional the person doing my hair was. I loved how the hair washing stations had seats that you could lie down on so it doesn't feel like you're breaking your neck when they shampoo you. I love that they went the extra mile while taking care of my hair and making sure that it looked extra nice that day. They also used a toner which was super helpful and even though it burned my scalp a little, it was worth it. I am so happy with my experience that I know I will be back again for another hair treatment. This is by far my favorite place to come and unwind for a little self care. I highly suggest that others come and enjoy the services as well.

You must go here!!!! Me and my bestie went for a blowout and we paid a little more than described on TikTok but that's ok I got a haircut too and may hair still feels clean!!! I will definitely go again and recommend this place - it's amazing! Best service best products best everything!! They have it streamline and set up great! They had all the best music playing for their customers and super nice! We really enjoyed this activity while in NYC and we didn't wait long we got there early enough during the week day - waited maybe 30 mins only which flew! I had about 3 inches cut off because I needed it and again I loved the experience.

This was the best hair experience I have ever had in my life, no exaggeration. The massage was insane. The hair wash was insane. The blowout was insane. Would move to NYC just for this.

    Terrible cut!

I've asked for a simple bob, straight line back and front with bangs, it came out zigzagging at the bottom. Very disappointing and paid 65. When the chart clearly states 20 to 50. It's a very bad mistake that I took the time and trusted yelps review. Never again.

I actually loved my experience here. I saw this place on tiktok and was ready to wait. Came here on a Thursday afternoon at 1pm and luckily there was no wait! The lady did a really good job washing my hair. Gave me a good head & neck massage. Didn't catch her name. Afterwards Henry did my hair. His English was limited but he knew what he was doing! Took an hour and I loved my results. My curls lasted the whole day and it was hot too. I paid $50 not including tips! I would definitely come back again!

TikTok made me do it. Located on the second floor of an inconspicuous building in Chinatown, Mian Tian has made a name for itself for their amazingly affordable blowouts. PRO TIPS: They're closed on Tuesdays. They don't take reservations, it's first come first served. Most everybody doesn't speak English. Cash is preferred but they take card. Wash, blowout and style runs about $40 and takes about 45 minutes. What to expect: If it's busy they will have you take a number deli-counter-style. We showed up at 11am on a Monday and there was only a 5 minute wait for 4 of us. You'll sit in a regular barbershop chair and get THE MOST AMAZING NECK AND SHOULDER MASSAGE OF YOUR LIFE Massage lasts like 5-10 minutes and is just so so good. After that, they'll start shampooing your hair right there in the chair. Once your hair is sudsed up, they'll move you over to a washing area with a sink. You'll lie down and get your hair scribed more, conditioned, and a little scalp massage. Again, so so good. Once your hair is rinsed, you'll go to another chair with another stylist and prepare for the blowout of your life. I have long, thick hair, so the blowout took about 20 minutes and I opted for the "curly" option. My hair looked and felt fantastic, smelled so good, all the things. Everybody there is super friendly and kind, very skilled and professional. If you're anywhere near Chinatown, put this on your To Do List if you're visiting NYC.

So this viral take a number like you're at the deli and get in line blow out shop definitely gets 4 stars. From the set up, the massages, the shampoo, conditioner, and blow out. This place is pumping out woman after woman with the glam, pin straight or pin curled blow outs. My hair is huge, and thick and I feel like needed special attention which it did not get. But overall for the process, service, associate skill level, and space I thought it was not bad. I go to a Dominican place with a similar business style and swear by them. I was amused that the stylist seemed daunted by my fro and happy that he did not over process my hair and left with it feeling thick and healthy and way more voluminous than I had planned (lol). This was my f around and find out something new, I need a trim and some self care adventure. It was worth it. $60 for a clean cut, wash blow out and shoulder/ scalp massage. Not bad not bad at all I would recommend bc I hear they do all type of hair as well as weave. 4/5

Came all the way from Arizona. Loved the experience, staff and my hair Massage, wash and blow dry of my waist length hair for just $50. Feels soft, full and bouncy.

    Haircut

Do not get a haircut here. I asked for a trim and just a little bit of layers to diffuse the ends. I think I had Wilson, my hair is absolutely botched and there's a 6+ inch difference between the shortest and longest layer and i've never seen such an uneven haircut in my life. I now have to make an appointment at another salon to get it fixed so the cheapness isn't worth it, and it was $75 anyway. Shampoo was also aggressive & matted my hair which was not brushed out nicely (brushes aren't clean had others hair in them no barbicide used). I asked to help brush to try to save some of the strands and not just rip the knots out but he ripped most of it out before I had even brushed out one section gently.

Haircut was great but they overcharged us. $65 each but the signs said $45-55 without a blowout.

Appointments became rushed, started late, and lacked even basic professionalism. You're barely greeted when you walk in, and the overall tone makes it feel like you're inconveniencing them just by being there. I told them multiple times I had a head injury from a concussion and the lack of care was very concerning how abrasively they washed and handled my head. My most recent appointment was a complete failure. I asked for a warm, golden brown and came prepared with multiple reference photos. While the color was processing, I clearly flagged that it was pulling purple. That concern was dismissed, and the product was left on longer. The result was the darkest my hair has ever been, almost black with a cool, purple hue. The exact opposite of what I requested. The color job is all mismatched, the lower part of my hair significantly darker, the roots are sloppy and uneven. When I pointed this out, the response was defensive and dismissive. At one point, I was sarcastically asked if I wanted to "bleach it," which is an inappropriate and careless suggestion for already fine hair. It was mind blowing to have this handled so poorly and then be rushed through a cut that does not look anywhere close to the quality of the past cuts. I followed up requesting a refund, given that this will take months to correct and fade, and received no response for over 48 hours. It's not even about the money - it's about the severe lack of respect. What's most surprising is that this level of defensiveness and lack of accountability was unacceptable, especially after such a grave mistake. Instead of thoughtful adjustment and ownership, the response was dismissive in the moment and silent afterward. Mistakes happen. How they're handled is what defines a business. This was not handled well. NYC has no shortage of salons that can deliver both technical skill and professionalism. This is not one of them. Updating this with a pic and additional NYC HAIR SALON SEO terms so future customers are warned since the salon has decided to block me after no satisfactory resolution. The pic at the top right was me pre-hair f*** up. Only come to this salon if you'd like to come home and cry.

This was their "best advice for me" and that I should come back and get both together. I only needed a haircut and this was the only chance I got (I am a SAHM with 2 kids and minimal backup except this day) so I said I would consider it but I need a cut now. It was 6 months since my last. That must have just not been the right thing to say bc I was judged, insulted during the entire session and I got the worst haircut of my life. I can't even get it fixed because it is so much shorter than I wanted. There are huge "texture" discrepancies all over my hair, the most obvious being in the back near my neck. There's also a strand of hair far longer than the entire length of my bob cut. I don't even understand how this happened. I'm so traumatized. I would never recommend this place and will never ever come back. I really had 1 chance to get a cut as a treat to myself, since I really don't have extra time to spare.
