The salon is located at the top of a restored historic building, which also includes an elevator service for those who can not deal with the flight of stairs. The salon is very well kept and has a friendly staff who always offer free refreshments when I walk in for my appointment. My stylist is all ways Kristin and she always does a great job. She knows how I like my hair cut and now it's gotten to the point where I can just walk in and get exactly what I want without having to explain it. The salon also always has fun little events going on so I'd recommend following their social media to keep up to date on them and keep and eye out on groupon for great deals as well!

I've been looking for a "home salon" since I moved to Lex 5 years ago and have tried a lot of the high end places and they have been fine... but not as magical as where I went in Louisville. This place had a ton of pros: -inviting -quick appointment availability -my name was on a chalkboard which was a nice touch -lots of discounts a new client there -THE SCALP MASSAGE (it may have been one of the best I've ever had. I seriously would come back for this alone. Only con: -I'm used to stylist educating me on what they are doing and why. My haircut was good but somewhat traditional. She did what I asked for but didn't ask for feedback before she started drying. The place was poppin and I'm definitely going to take the offer up to do a color treatment my next visit (I already scheduled) I'm not sure if I'll be a loyalist to this place but I'm glad I gave it a try.

Very Disappointing Experience - Poor Customer Service I took…read moremy daughter to this salon because her hair had been damaged by hair dye. I specifically requested a deep-conditioning p treatment and a layered haircut to improve the shape of her hair. Unfortunately, the result was heartbreaking. My daughter has curly hair, and the stylist cut it while it was wet. Once her hair dried, the cut looked completely different from what we expected. Her hair ended up much shorter than requested, and the shape was very uneven and unflattering. My daughter was so upset about the result that she cried that night because she was unhappy with how she looked. I contacted the salon and requested a refund, but I was told they do not offer refunds and that I needed to return so they could try to fix it. When I returned, instead of feeling that my concerns were being taken seriously, I felt that I was being argued with. The explanation was that my daughter's hair was already damaged and that they had done what they could. If her hair was too damaged to achieve the requested result, I believe that should have been clearly explained before proceeding with the service. I brought my daughter in expecting professional advice and care, but we left with a result that caused her a great deal of distress. After this experience, my daughter became afraid to return to the salon, and I was left feeling disappointed and frustrated. I also did not feel comfortable paying for another service to correct a haircut that I was already unhappy with. I understand that hair can be difficult to work with, especially when it is damaged, but communication, honesty, and customer service matter. I hoped the salon would take responsibility for our concerns and offer a fair resolution, but that did not happen. I would encourage parents of children with curly or damaged hair to discuss exactly what can realistically be achieved before agreeing to a haircut. I would not return based on my experience.

My worst haircut in 63 years! He can check his security footage that he pointed out that he had. Hmmmm, having a security camera to record his cuts??? Seems like I mustn't be the first unhappy customer. From my experience, he's the typical old school barber who has poor listening skills and chose to cut my hair as he saw fit... not how I asked or was evident from how my hair looked from my previous cut! The only thing he must have heard was "1 and a 1/2". An Edward Scissor Hands or Picasso he is not! This was the quickest haircut that I've ever had, and again, the worst in 63 years! The shop was empty when I walked in, so there was no need to rush the task at hand! In hindsight, maybe there is a reason why the shop was empty... Sitting back in the chair, so he could try to repair the haphazard results, he had the nerve to share an unexpected and flippant comment to tell me to consider buying my own set of clippers and cut my hair myself. Then when paying, he passive-aggressively told me in a nice tone to try Great Clips next time, which I replied that I have already done so and they did a much better job. I expect a retort from him for my review, but so be it... I'm only giving an accurate and fair feedback based upon my experience, so any potential first-time customer like me has an honest feedback to consider before deciding. Unfortunately for me, the experience and cut was terrible. Hopefully, my hair will grow enough before I walk my daughter down the aisle in 16 days and another barber can repair the damaged caused by Shabby's Barber Shop.

I felt so welcomed from the start. Loved that the ladies walked around barefoot and comfortable. Not an ounce of stuffiness, which is impossible as it smells so good in the building. I booked a massage and facial bundle for a very economical price. First up the massage by Alexis she knew her stuff. She asked questions and concentrated her effort on the brick in my left shoulder blade. For weeks I've been popping into places for chair massages but to no avail. However Alexis has fingers of magic I would have booked another hour. I've been to many places including Thailand and this is only the 2nd massage received that would compare. I had the honor of having the facial done by none other than the owner Ashley. It's been a few years since stepping thru Mario Badescu for a facial monthly however I would say the facial here was just as top notch. The next time I touch down here early this will be my first stop before the Bourbon!

The person at the check in desk has never been friendly at all. With a spa experience that's what you hope for. 2. Other than that, it's a clean facility, and Tiffany has been great.
