‼Horrible, horrible, horrible. I am extremely disappointed with this salon. My 16-year-old daughter went in today to get her hair done for homecoming. Over the phone, she was told she could decide to have her hair washed when she arrived, especially because her hair already had product in it for curls. However, once she got there, they refused and said they didn't have time. As a result, her hair looked messy and unfinished, and she came home crying. This was very upsetting on such an important day. We trusted this salon, and they did not deliver the service they promised. I am her mom, and this is the first time I have ever written a bad review, but I felt it was necessary after this experience. read more

Hair salon reviews are so difficult to write!! Everyone had different hair and it's hit or miss the personal style and skill of the stylist. I've been looking for a "home salon" since I moved to Lex 5 years ago and have tried a lot of the high end places and they have been fine... but not as magical as where I went in Louisville. This place had a ton of pros: -inviting -quick appointment availability -my name was on a chalkboard which was a nice touch -lots of discounts a new client there -THE SCALP MASSAGE (it may have been one of the best I've ever had. I seriously would come back for this alone. Only con: -I'm used to stylist educating me on what they are doing and why. My haircut was good but somewhat traditional. She did what I asked for but didn't ask for feedback before she started drying. The place was poppin and I'm definitely going to take the offer up to do a color treatment my next visit (I already scheduled) I'm not sure if I'll be a loyalist to this place but I'm glad I gave it a try. read more

I am from out of town and have never gone to ANYONE except my hometown hairdresser. I had to extend my stay in Kentucky and am heading on another trip this weekend. I really wanted to get my hair done prior to my trip and decided to stop in. THANK GOD I did!!! I walked in and was immediately able to sit in a salon chair. KAYLA treated me as if I had been going to her for years! I felt comfortable and she kept me updated through the whole process. She asked what toner I wanted and when I showed her a photo of my hair from the past, she matched it EXACTLY. Not only did she exceed my expectations and make me feel comfortable, she also gave me amazing recommendations for things to do and places to eat in the area. Kayla, thank you so much!!! This place is horrible! I came in for a full red auburn hair color and came out with a dark chocolate/black hair color. As soon as Rachel, dyed my hair, I immediately told her that was not the color that I brought a sample of. I was reassured that it would turn auburn after a few washes, or I could come back and get my hair fixed for FREE because I wasn't satisfied with the color. Both Rachel and the receptionist Lady told me that it would be free to fix the color because I was not satisfied with it. So after I left, I called immediately and made a appointment for them to fix the hair color because I got a better look at the color when I went outside. And I was right it was not red. It was a deep, dark, chocolate, black color. A few days later I returned and that's when they told me that they were not fixing the haircolor and that it was going to be $315 to try and fix it. The manager was no help either. I took the sample hair piece out of my bag and put it next to my dyed dark chocolate/black hair color, and showed her. It was obviously not the same color that I asked for. So the manager came up with a dumb idea to lighten up the top of my hair and leave the tips of my hair chocolate/black. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau because that is not right that somebody botched my hair color and then they promised to fix it. Then they change their mind that they were not going to fix it. So I wasted $90 for nothing. So I went to another salon and they said 100% that is not the color of the sample that I showed them. It was in no way shape or form the same color. Hopefully I can get some resolution through the Better Business Bureau. read more

Britney has been cutting my hair for over a year now. They always make me a coffee when I get there, and the haircut comes with a wash where I usually get a brief scalp massage. I've tried the "Bro Wax" (brow) a couple times when things get messy and those are good. Overall very relaxing and friendly. Only thing I miss from prior provider is the straight razor neck shave, but that's a legal limitation, not something they can change. Highly recommend B4M. read more

I found a groupon for for this place for a haircut, deep condition, and style and decided to give it a try. I called last minute and they were able to pretty much get me in right away! Austin did my hair and did an amazing job. He's super sweet and very knowledgeable on everything. This is also a Redken salon which I love. I would recommend this place to anyone. read more

This is where my friend, the bride decided to have her hair, as well as, her bridesmaids' hair done. And you've guessed it, I was one of the Bridesmaids. The waiting are was a bit cramped, but the rest of the studio is spacious, and I like the fact that each hairstylist have their own little section. I'm not a big fan of side-by-side working stations. The hairstyle was a french braid twist, and my hair stylist is Sara. She was so sweet and I felt so bad that she got me out of everyone. I have the longest and thickest hair out of all my friends. She used twice the amount of bobby pins, and instead of having the braid go straight-up my scalp, she had to zig-zag it along my head because I had so much hair! I could tell that she was having difficulties but she did not complain, took her time (I took 20 mins longer than everyone else) and the outcome was great. And everyone else's hair came out great too! read more

Madison did a fantastic job and gave great attention to detail. She's very friendly and I was thrilled with my cut and surprised at how inexpensive it was. I've given this salon 4 (FOUR) chances and they've failed each time! The first time I visited I had a Groupon for a Brazilian wax. The girl had no clue what she was doing and I was bruised and in terrible pain for days afterwards. I bought another Groupon months later and requested a different girl to do the wax, and had a similar bad experience. So I thought, alright, waxing just isn't their specialty. Later I bought a Groupon for a gel manicure and it wound up taking hours of my time for no apparent reason. They put me in a chair in the back and the nail tech would intermittently check on me and do one thing (remove original polish, wrap heated towels on my legs, etc.) then leave for 20-30 minutes. It ultimately took forever to finish! I even called the front desk at one point to ask if she'd forgotten she had a client (me) sitting in the back waiting! About a year later the salon emailed me a 50% off coupon so I went in for a simple French gel mani. The nail tech once again had no clue what she was doing and couldn't get the nails even or the lines straight at all. It was gel polish but came off several days later!! Will never be going back. I am soooo picky about my hair and it takes me FOREVER to find someone that I like. I guess you can say I've been spoiled with having a sister and brother-in-law who are both hair stylists; but ever since they moved away to sunny and warm Destin, FL in 2001, I've had a hard time finding someone to take their place. Thankfully, I found Cary at Bak 4 More Studio during my second go at looking for a stylist in Lexington. Cary's a trooper, the first time I met her, she was recovering from food poisoning and still managed to make my hair rock. This last visit just confirms how awesome Cary is because I am blonde but my hair is not damaged, it's silky and easy to pull my fingers through. I would reccomend Cary and the other Bak 4 More Studio comrades any time. I love the front desk people, they greet you the moment you open the door and are so accommodating if you want to change your mani to a pedi at last minute. Speaking of my pedi, Amy also can rock the foot tub as well as hair. Amy did an great job on cleaning up my feet and with NO PAIN! I can't wait to schedule a duel pedicure with my partner in crime. Worst salon my wife has ever been to and definitely will not being going back. She had a waxing done and the lady was not friendly at all and terrible at the service. My wife get waxed regularly and usually has great results but we used this salon after a groupon and it was an extremely patchy wax job and days later was left with terrible bumps all over. I was not looking forward to finding a stylist that I could trust to be consistant with my cut ...I've been a stylist for over 25 years and recently gave it up to go to culinary school. Tim was great the first time, second and today on my third visit I through some changes in on him...he rocked it...I don't usually come straight home and decide to write about my stylist, but my cut is great, very trendy, but age related...he listened to me, and my styling needs...maybe I shouldn't brag too much, I may have trouble getting in with him soon...lol...the staff is so friendly and laid back, but on top of things going on around them...I find it's a very proffesional enviornment...
