I had the absolute worst experience ever. I am going through brain cancer and lost half my hair and I wanted highlights done to match my gray which being that I'm a redhead, looks like light blonde/white. Joanne was supposed to highlight my hair for my sister's wedding. We met with her a couple weeks prior and she quoted me $90 for the dye job only. She said over and over she could do a good job at the cost of $90. I already had a cut booked elsewhere. Before I left from the consultation I said to her several times that I was saving the price she quoted me on my phone and asked her to not change day of since I was flying out of DE days after the appointment. She agreed and looked at my calendar on my phone with the price shown and she promised she could do the job and would keep it at that price. Fast forward to 5/15/26. I shower up at 1:45pm for our appointment and she wasn't there. The other girl Alex said she'd be there at 2pm. While I was waiting, a nicely dressed man walked towards the door to leave and asked if I'd been helped. I let him know I was waiting for Joanne. I introduced myself and he said his name was Shane. I asked him about the coupon online for 40% your first due job with hair cuttery and asked if that includes the entire dye job and only highlights. He said yes, it just had to be your first time getting a dye job there. I specifically asked if the discount only applies to the dye not the toner and everything else needed for a complete dye job and he said the entire dye job was discounted. Something along those lines but he confirmed this. I later found out he was the district manager. He left and Joanne eventually showed up at 2:20pm. It is May and she shows up wearing a black sweater dress with a snowman on the front. She and the other lady laughed about it. I should have ran out then. I sat down and she puts on this act that she remembers me, but I could tell she had no idea who I was, what I was there for and I'm sure not the price she quoted me. There was a bit of a language barrier but she seemed to understand enough to do my syw job, and another lady there recommended her when I initially called weeks before. So I'm trying to explain what I wanted done, showed her half my hair was missing due to brain cancer radiation and she again pretends to remember me. She takes me over to wash my hair, then I sit in her chair and she asks me what I'd like done. I said we met a week ago and told her the price she quoted me and she said ok and started to look nervous. She goes to the register to calculate the cost and said it would actually be $120, not $90. I never mentioned the coupon cause I knew she'd do a bad job if I did, but she changed the price she quoted me during our consultation and I was not ok with this. I find out Alex is jer boss and this is why she had to change the initial cost she quoted me. Alex had to stop cutting another customers hair to come and discuss everything with me and Joanne. I told her the details and Joanne kept denying quoting me that price. Alex told her since she quoted me that price she had to honor it and Joanne kept lying about it. My hair is bright red and the left side looks shaved cause my hair is missing and she's still saying she doesn't remember me. She finally agreed to the price she quoted me and I turned around and she said she was sorry she couldn't do the highlights. She said she wouldn't be able to get it the right color. She said over and over she could do it during the first meeting. I was furious since I was leaving to CA in a few days to be in my sister's wedding and Joanne was the one who told me to wait until closer to the day I flew out of state. I asked them for the corporate number and Alex said no and Joanne went in the back to find it and never came back. I told Alex I wasn't leaving without the number. Joanne finally came back to give me the number. Hair cuttery is the worst place out there. Don't go unless you want a cruddy experience. read more

After a bad experience with another stylist, Robin called me and had me come in to see what she could do. I'm glad I went. I was scared and pretty hopeless, but Robin was patient, let me vent about my prior visit, and then got right to work using her knowledge and experience. My hair is in a much better place now and I'm schedule to go back next week to continue the process. There is hope in salvaging my hair after all. Hair cut was good and stylist was nice, but I paid her for the cut + tip in cash and tried to pay for a deep conditioner with my card. The stylist said it would only charge the $23 for product but when I looked at my bank statement I got charged for the cut AND the product which I had already paid for in cash. I asked her specifically if it would only charge for the product and she said yes....Stylist got away with a $30 tip on a $24 service..... for that reason I won't go back. read more

So disappointed, but I guess you get what you pay for. I used to get my hair cut here all the time; same style, same old cut, easy peasy--in & out. Today I amble in after recovering from a 2 week long virus/cold/flu, grateful that it's going to be short & sweet...only to be informed by the lone stylist--in what looked like an empty shop--that it will be an hour and a half wait! 1.5 hours "because they are short staffed & doing coloring." Come on. Whomever owns this place really dropped the ball. Clearly he/she doesn't give a ..hoot about customers. I will stay & get my haircut. I will never return. I had Danyelle. She was wonderful!! Very kind, asked questions, explained why she was doing certain things for my hair type. She cut, did partial highlights, blow dried it straight. Most hairstylists screw up my layers & can't straighten my thick wavy hair. She fixed my screwed up layers, helped me decide on my color & type of highlights. I went in for a simple trim. Sounds simple. Wrong. I said trim, showed her how much and then said half an inch. She cut off about 3 to 3.25. I went back and the manager was nice but still totally unacceptable. Plus the cut was uneven all around. The manager refunded me. I said I wanted the tip back too and she said no at first and then gave me cash. My hair grows slow. She basically chopped off 5 months of my growth. I usually have great experiences here. LaRissa was amazing and would take her time during every visit with me. Unfortunately, this visit I was told that she'd "be on vacation for a while". WTH does that even mean. So I took the next available person. I'm pretty particular about my hair, what little I have left. The girl who took care of me was horrible. Did not take her not, jerked my head around, and missed spots on my neck. Basically, I felt like she had better things to do then cut my hair this particular day. I really don't care if you have other appointments, if you accept a customer, its your job to take care of them fully. This location has some brilliant masters of the Hair Cuttery. If not for stylist like Justin Dieter who's been my barber for the last year I would even come to this location. Justin always takes time to listen to his clients, at the same time he can make good suggestions on what your hair should look like the way he sees it. He's probably the best stylist I've met in the area and always very busy with the clients. Over all, the staff at this location been very good to me, throughout all my visits I can't recall that I've had anything to complain about. The entire place is pretty clean and and the staff always maintain the proper sanity on of their work stations. This Hair Cuttery is conveniently located right next to Trader Joe's, Anthony's Coal Fried Pizza, and the Hibachi Grill, so it's never an issue of waiting too long for your stylist. read more

I called before I took the 20 min drive down there and was told that the girl that specialised in textured hair would be finished with her customer in 15 mins and I should be fine to be on my way. I've been here multiple times and every time I was happy when Sam cut my hair but 2 days ago I went in for a "TRIM" the girl who cut my hair knew what I wanted because I explained to her clearly that I wanted a trim like a 1/2"-1" because I previously had a hair cut 2 months ago! I told her I wanted a straight cut with NO layers! I walked out with layers pieces in the front of my face shorter that it doesn't even blend in when I wear it down... The lady cut off like 2-3.5 inches of my hair that was healthy! my hair was not cut in a straight blunt cut at all, multiple people have told me that my hair is very uneven and it looks a mess.
