This place sucked.They ruined my hair and it looks awful. I had pretty nice hair but it kept getting in to my eyes so I thought i should get a haircut. Service took awhile then i went there Then they took 30 minutes and i came out with destroyed hair it looked horrible so now i have to go somewhere else and get it shorter even though i liked it long read more

I booked an appointment for a cut and color. I was apprehensive because I've gone to this location in the past and had received bad service and a bad hair color. It was so bad that I had to go back and have it fixed by a different person. This time my experience was over the moon wonderful. I saw Heath and he spent the time to do a consult beforehand to find out exactly what I was looking for in color and cut. He nailed it! This hair cuttery is the worst. Me and my mom both went a couple of days ago. We both simply asked for a trim. My mom just wanted an inch off, I want an inch and a half. We went home, dried our hair, and realized we both had random long strands of hair in random places around our head. We ended up having to cut the strands ourself and even noticed our hair was completely uneven all the way around. We both saw different people amd they both did a terrible job. I DO NOT recommend getting your hair cut here at all. Bad service and even worse job at cutting hair. read more

I went to this place first to get my hair dyed. And I asked for an ombré which I thought "omg if I can do it then it would be really good if I went and got it professionally done. I came out with a straight line all the way around my head. I thought it must just be the lady, Diane, who did my hair. I went in just yesterday, to get my hair fixed after I attempted to cut it myself, the lady (Wanda) who did my hair obviously had no clue or care ab my hair. I asked her to shave my under cut up and she did, but while she was brushing my hair, she was pulling chunks out of my hair. She also missed several spots and now my head is very patchy. I got out of the chair with straight lines and no blending done on my hair. They charged me 22 dollars for a hair cut that I wasn't even satisfied with. I came home and cried for two hours, I was so upset and my hair looks terrible. I will never go to this hair salon ever again. It's very obvious that these people have no clue what they are doing. read more

I went to the Poquoson location with a 7pm appointment with Carla. When I showed at 6:58 she had just seated another customer. She asked if I could 5 mins. I said I would go to the Food Lion next door and be back in 5 mins. When I returned I sat and waited until 720. There was no acknowledgement that it would be a little longer before she could start my haircut, no apologies, no explanation for the apparent double booking. Very discourteous! I'll never return to this or any Hair Cuttery. read more

Absolutely detestable. My relatively shy girlfriend came out sobbing because they did such a bad job on her eyebrows. They didn't make any attempts to communicate with her about what she wanted. Her eyebrows are now pencil thin, and one of them has a gap missing from the middle of it. Since she was so upset, I decided to go in and ask for a refund. They simply said that their policy was not to give refunds, but she could come back in and they could try to fix it, as if they can put hair back on her face. Obviously they couldn't fix it. My daughter and I had appointments at 1pm & 1:45pm, respectively. We book with "Diana" each time we go. Diana had another customer in the chair when we showed up, who had wet hair, then after cutting, blow dry and straightening, it was 25 minutes past my appointment time. When check out came, one customer had an appointment, while her daughter, I overheard, wasn't put into the computer - basically a walk-in added on because her mother had her appointment. Then the customers went looking over hair product, and at this point I was done. At no time were we acknowledged about our waiting, but for originally when we checked in and told it would be "a few minutes". I got up, put my purse on my shoulder, and that is when Diana acknowledged us. I said "My appointment was at 1pm, it has been a half hour past that time". Diana said "things come up". Well, when you make an appointment and take a walk-in, that makes scheduled appointments pointless. That sets, in motion, continual unnecessary delays and unhappy customers. Our appointments were made last Monday. Then the customer chose to get involved, extremely nasty, calling me "rude", because I wasn't being "patient". I did not raise my voice, as she did, nor by saying I had an appointment, sound illogical as she. Her daughter chimed in that "we have been here since 11am because of a problem with hair". I guess so, since you were fit in after your mother. I responded by saying that wasn't my problem, because I knew she wasn't scheduled to begin with. I heard it, although they tried denying it. THAT is what caused the whole appointment issue. Obviously they all know each other, and that explained the verbal attack from the customer. Yes, I am "human", but even a doctors office gives you 10 minutes to show up, before rescheduling, and if they are running behind, acknowledge you. Diana finally offered for a co-worker to check them out, too late. When the customer and her daughter continued to verbally attack me, when it wasn't any of their business, I had asked my daughter to get her hair done first. At that point, I told her to get out of the chair. How ridiculous to make appointments, but not honor them and respect customers time, as they respect your time by showing up before the appointment. How rude to lie about a walk-in, and chastise a customer who actually made the effort to schedule an appointment. Sorry, but time management is important and the "oh well, it is what it is" lackadaisical attitude loses customers. read more

This was the worst haircut my teenager ever received! Before going I called to make sure there was a stylist who could give my daughter curtain bangs as this is what she was wanting. I was told yes and given an appt time. When we got there the male stylist talked her out of curtain bangs and said long layers would be better. When giving her some curl to her hair he sprayed it with hairspray and then used the straightener. of course SMOKE came from her hair which he dismissed. Her hair is now damaged! Not only that but her so called layers are just the top layer of hair cut noticeably shorter than the underneath NOT BLENDED IN AT ALL! I hope this review warns everyone not to go to this hair cuttery. They not only lied when making the appt that the stylist knew what he was doing but real damage had been done to her hair that hopefully a REAL salon will be able to correct! If I could this would have DEFINITELY had ZERO STARS!! read more

I've had a few bad haircuts here, mostly because they weren't careful and left long strands. Also, a couple of the hair cutters seem kind of rough -- tattoos and smell of smoke. With that said, Valerie is a delightful young woman and she does a very good job. If you do go here, I recommend you ask for her. read more
