Nice haircut perfect price with the wait. This place is just comfortable. Very well maintained people are very courteous and polite. Now I understand why getting an appointment takes a while. They fill up fast get on it. read more

Great experience - Marybeth made us feel right home and provided a great haircut. Perfect.

Honestly, I'm 78 years old, new to the area was just looking for a good old fashion men's haircut. The most I paid for a haircut like this in Newport News was $15. This place was incredibly expensive, and did not include an old fashioned neck shave with a razor and cream. Convenient to where I live, but not sure if I'll go back. read more

After getting my hair and beard done here for a coupe years, I will never return to this place. To put it simply, the barber don't maintain the basic standard of keeping thier equipment sanitized. The barber didn't clean the clippers, sissors, or combs between customers. She had a towel on her counter that she used to wipe her hands but never cleaned or changed the towel. Everything was just left on the counter, covered in hair between the customers. read more

A little too, the location is tucked back in a small shopping strip behind the black and white cleaners business at the corner. As a military family when we move from base to base, we are always having to start over. We always have to find new optometrist, dentists, hair salons, and barber shops. It's take a good year to get all you need. Then you move again hahaha. We tried a place close to where we live in Poquoson and after 3-4 times it just was not cutting it. She lacked attention to detail. My son always has side burn hair, neck hair ect. I'm sure is will be a hair beast. So I searched military spouse Facebook pages and Yelp for a barber shop. Wolves in Wool was mentioned a couple of times. So I headed to their Yelp page and checked out reviews. I went to their website and booked an appointment. I loved being able to make an appointment. I chose and appointment with Sharon. I saw a few times she pays attention to detail. I know my son is 8 but, he takes pride in his hair and bathing in general. Fingers crossed he keeps up with it. The smelly teen phase would be great if it skipped out house. So I sit here watching everything being done. Sharon is doing amazing! Every time my son is turned around in the chair she has the biggest grin under his mask. It's like he knows she is hitting all his check boxes. She trimmed him up so well on the sides and on the back of his neck. I prefer the same treatment for my 8 year old as if he was a paying adult. The interior decor and products were great. I loved the above and beyond decor and theme of old beard and barbershop. I think we found our place and our stylist!!! Beyond happy! read more

Wolves In Wool was an all around fabulous experience! Nora did a great job trimming and shaping my beard. She was cheerful, patient, understanding, and professional. Nora took her time and was gentle. Nora made sure I understood each step of her process. Wolves in wool barber shop (its way more than a shop) was well decorated with lots of cool tchotskes, hair products, beard products, and pictures. The shop is very clean and organized, with plenty of lighting, and good classic rock music playing. Wools in wolves is very affordable and easy to make an appointment on line. Highly recommend for men and children. They are well prepared for any COVID concerns. Overall a wonderful experience! read more

Complete 180. Very easily scheduled an appointment for my husband to get his hair cut. Previously when it was not a great experience the owner had reached out and honestly that means so much. It shows that someone takes pride in their business and cares. They suggested several workers who had been there a long time. I believe I booked my husbands appointment with Sharon. He had a good experience and it looks AWESOME! His hair is cut even all the way around. No extra hair left on his neck, and the top was styled over. Thank you! Now he looks like a grown man instead of a overgrown mess. I cannot wait for him to go back. read more

First time here and very impressed! Staff pays attention to the needs of the customers and insures that they are happy with their haircuts. Cleaned and sanitized between clients and staff is masked. Nora did a fantastic job on my hair and I will most definitely return. Highly recommend this place! read more

I don't have enough good things to say about Wolves in Wool. I received my barbering experience from Sharon and she landed a perfect job. She did exactly as I asked and I want disappointed. If you ever get a haircut, go here and request Sharon. read more

Plenty of other quality barbershops to get a good haircut from. This place is not it. Or at least from Jennifer. I'm not quite sure how she has so many good reviews. Not sure how I'll be able to hide my hair from my coworkers or family. Very disappointed at the quality of my haircut. 0/10 could not recommend any less. Anyone reading reviews for this establishment...check out The Proper Barbershop. Only reason I booked at Wolves in Wool is because of a time crunch. Wolves in Wool Barbershop....more like Wolves in Wool Butchershop. read more

I've been to many barbers; as work requires me to travel often, and Melody is by far my favorite barber to go to. Melody is very talented and offers great advice while listening to her clients at the same time to make sure they get the best results possible. I'd recommend wolves in wool to anyone as they provide a nice environment with nicer staff! read more

I purchased a gift card for my husband. I wanted to do something different for Christmas. He made his appointment with Erica and it was not a good experience. He wanted a straight shave on his head and face. He had several nicks and cuts to his face and a decent sized cut to his head. Even missing patches of hair too. He said she seemed unsure of what she was doing. Maybe she is new and needs more experience, but he won't be coming back to her. He may try one of the other ladies because the other reviews are so high for this place. Please please have Erica practice her technique before she really hurts someone. read more

Wolves in Wool - Cut to the back of the head. - Barbers Near Me - Yorktown, Virginia

Highly recommend Kayla! She is new to Wolves in Wool, but I have been going to her for over a year. She is super nice, great conversation, and does a great fade! Wish I was staying in the area because Wolves in Wool would gain another customer! read more

Great people. Talented beard cutters. I think the young lady was Ari or Ali. Like that it's appointment only.

My son got an excellent haircut here yesterday by Nora Belle. She was very fast, which my 12 yr old loved bc he's always in hurry to get home and do nothing. Will certainly return, and recommend to others. read more

Had my hair cut for the first time since January. Also my first ever beard trim. Fantastic. Was offered a beverage. Very good hair cut with hot towel and neck shave. And the beard trim, what can I say but beautiful. I woke up this morning and it fell right back into place. Nora is fantastic. See you again next month. Setting up an appointment is easy. read more

I've been looking for a good barber in the Yorktown-Lee Hall area. I "discovered" Wolves in Wool after seeing them featured in a TV news segment about helping people on government furlough. So I decided to check them out. The owner offered me a drink & to take my coat while Melissa got me comfortably seated. I'm pleased with the result & they can expect my return in a few weeks. read more

Great atmosphere all around! I have lived here for over two years and have been searching for a good barber shop. Got my hair trimmed and bought some product. Prices for the hair cut was very competitive and they take their time to give you what you want. Offer a military discount on products and cuts. Product pricing was actually cheaper than what I normally purchase it on amazon at plus the military discount ! Would recommend this barber shop for anyone looking for a cut, style product, shave, beard trim. They do it all ! read more

Great barber shop. The price difference to other chain places was only 5 buck but well worthy! Melissa cut my sons hair!! She was great. She even gave him cookies. I was pretty happy with the hair cut. read more

My son usually went to Great Clips and when they were busy I was lucky enough to find this place. My husband and I were in awe, it was an actual barber shop! They have a great vibe, professional barbers and my son who got his hair cut yesterday said he found his favorite place. Sharon was my sons barber and we absolutely love her! Highly recommend her and this place! read more

I love the interior decor. Good haircuts and good service! I've never had a barbershop ask me if I wanted a drink while I was getting my haircut. Definitely recommend giving it a try if you're looking for that gentlemen's type of barbershop. read more

I was visiting home from NYC and needed a quick beard trim. I found this place via a quick google search and could not have been happier with the experience. The staff was incredibly friendly. They made me feel welcome and comfortable, and I walked out with an excellent, clean trim! They also had an impressive selection of products for sale. read more

This shop has a great atmosphere and beard oils, but all 3 times I've been the wait has been over an hour with only 1 barber working. The owner has been there but just working the front desk or offering you a drink( don't you cut hair as well?) . You have 3 barber Chairs! Get some more barbers working before you loose more customers. I managed to get my hair cut today and she did a good job but there were 7 people in line waiting on a haircut so I decided to not get my beard trimmed up and keep everyone else waiting. I would never recommend Wolves in Wool to any of my friends or family. read more

Seriously an awesome environment. The employees are outstanding, helpful, and super friendly. I'm definitely recommending all my friends and if I knew you I'd recommend you here as well. Definitely my favorite place to get a haircut. read more

I trusted this place to give me a haircut and straight razor shave on my wedding day back in July and I'm so happy I did! The haircut was perfect. It was so nice to know that in all of our wedding pictures, my hair at least looked sharp and stylish. The guys took time to listen what I wanted (even if I didn't do a good job explaining), took their time, and gave me one of my best haircuts I've ever gotten. If I lived in the area, they would be my new barber. I can't recommend this place enough. Just do it. read more

This place is absolutely awesome!! The staff are extremely friendly and personable... Kind of a rare find these days.

If you're looking for a barber shop, look no further! Wolves in Wool is the place for you. The staff is very inviting, friendly, promotes good conversation, and clearly strives to please. Kayla cut my hair and did a fantastic job! I haven't been so pleased with a haircut in a long time. She constantly asked my preference on length and style of cut and really ensured I was going to get what I wanted. While there, the owner arrived and offered myself and another gentlemen waiting a beer, soda, or a water. Where else can you get a cut and enjoy a beer while you wait? The atmosphere needs to be mentioned also. The decor was very interesting as it related to the Yorktown area and including many other interesting pieces everywhere you turned. Classic rock was playing in the background also. Wolves in Wool has won my business for the foreseeable future. Prices are reasonable and include discounted pricing for military and first responders. Kudos to the owner and staff! read more
