My second visit to TruCuts barbershop in Williamsburg in a month. Once again, barber Ji Ni did a superb job. I am older and have very little hair, but I need a neat treatment with attention to detail, especially with my mustache. She gives me full attention and clearly takes good care of her tools. I appreciate her sanitation and cleanliness efforts, ensuring that no issues are passed between clients. I enjoy Asian barber shop procedures, especially a Korean shop like TruCuts. There are no language issues; Ji Ni and her four colleagues all have good facility in English. Additionally, the price is very reasonable. TruCuts will be my go-to shop whenever I'm near Williamsburg. read more

This is the only place I will get my hair cut in Williamsburg. While J.Y. is my favorite, you are in good shape with any of the ladies working here. A standard haircut is $15 and includes some warm shaving cream and shave on the back of your neck and a bit of a massage. I brought my daughters on several occasions and they got good haircuts as well. That is no small task as they have long, thick hair. Sue made them look great. As I said above, I will go out of my way to have J.Y. cut my hair since she always gets it just right and remembers exactly what I want every time I come in. The place itself is very nice with a bright and open feeling. There are comfy chairs and magazines while you wait. I recommend calling for an appointment if you have a preferred barber and specific time in mind. read more

I moved to Williamsburg from Stafford Va. I tried many barbers in this area but couldn't find one that I was comfortable with. I went back to my barber in Stafford for a year plus until I found Tru Cuts. I gave them a try and Young was awesome, I won't have anybody but her cut my hair. The place is clean, the price is right, and the barbers seem skilled. Due to Covid, my hair was overgrown. I told the lady that every barber I have ever been to cuts my hair too short, without fail. She assured me that it would not happen today. Guess what, I walked out darn near buzzed. It's all balanced, neat and clean, but is is not what I wanted at all. For example, she asked me if I wanted hair over my ears, and I said yes. I have sidewalls. Why is it that they don't listen. I loves Tru Cuts and both Young and Sue. That all changed when my mom received a perm that didn't take. She called the shop and was told they would redo the perm at no cost. The didn't give her a time limit on when she had to come back to receive the redo. My mom called lesa than 3 months after said bad perm and was told it had been too long and they weren't going to fix it. As if that weren't bad enough Young, the owner, hung up on my elderly mother. I was in disbelief that Young would do such a thing as she had always been so nice to my family. VERY bad business practices and they lost 5 customers that day. I am still sad about having to go elsewhere but I will not give my money to someone who is so rude! read more
