If I could give them zero stars, I would. My haircut is awful. Imagine my hair style is pretty straightforward. Just cut 2 inches straight all around no layers. Nothing fancy. They cut almost 5 inches and that was because one side was longer than the other, and as she were trying to even out, it just got shorter and shorter and mind you it's still not even but if I cut any more, I'm not going to have any hair left. Most absurd lack of customer service. My husband had an appointment this morning at 9:45 AM that he made yesterday at 6PM. "She confirmed all his details and said we will see you tomorrow." He arrives at 9:40 and two people were sitting just staring outside. Two people that have previously cut his hair, that know him and recognize him. There is a sign saying "we will be closed until 12 for inventory" The people just stared at him and pointed at the sign over and over. He called and pointed at the phone to speak to them because it's highly confusing as to why they'd book him just to turn him away and why no one called him? They shook their heads and sat down and continued to stare blankly. No inventory was being taken. They both personally know my husband and they just left him out there like an in-person telemarketer. It was absurd, annoying, and so rude. They could have at the very least opened and apologized and rescheduled him. And treated him like a human being. read more

ZERO RATING! Ashley, the Manager, is running some kind of racket in that salon. I have been going to this salon for 20 years without issue until ASHLEY. So, I went in for a Mother's Day blow out costing $55. I tipped her $27 on top of it. She texts me a few days later stating the transaction did not go through. I checked and it was still "Pending" on my credit card. She stated she needed to "close out" and requested that I pay her on her App "Dope Beauty", which I stupidly agreed to do. She got her cash, and she did not VOID out the original charge which eventually went through on my credit card. I called and spoke with her and texted her my proof, which is the original charge on my credit card + her "Dope Beauty" charge + our text messages back and forth. She states the transaction did not go through on her end, STILL. She is fighting my credit card company and sent them her "Dope Beauty" app transaction and marked me as a "No Show". Hair Cuttery does not even charge for "No Shows". All of this leads me to believe I am not the only customer she has done this to. The owner needs to know who they have working for them. Very long story short, after my polite and well-behaved daughters (aged 7-10) were turned away as walk-ins, by two newly-established, gimmicky salons at The Falls, who had more employees than customers (The Mall Hair Salon and Pelokitos); my daughters ultimately got their hair trimmed at the long-existing Hair Cuttery, who were appropriately-staffed with no shortage of socially-distanced customers. One of the hair stylists, Yoselin (?) knew she had a scheduled client coming in shortly, but jumped in nonetheless to serve. The manager helped start my oldest daughter's shampoo, and had to step away unexpectedly for a business call. Once Yoselin (?) finished cutting my youngest's hair, she took over my oldest's daughter's haircut, without hesitation or bother. The manager came back after his call, and apologized several times. It wasn't a perfect scenario, but considering we were walk-ins, and all of the challenges businesses have faced this past year, I am the first to be understanding when employees are trying their best. I went to get my hair cut today during my lunch break. This hair dresser by the name of Elysabeth is the one that serviced me today and after my experience with her, I won't ever be going back to Hair Cuttery again. My hair was quite long and I had gone in with the intentions of donating 8 inches of my hair to a reputable company that makes wigs from donated hair bundles. All was well, Elysabeth cut the 8 inches off from my hair but that's as good as it got. My hair is now shoulder length at this point and I asked her to put some layers in my hair but not cut too much (not too much because I knew she would have to cut off more and my hair was only at my shoulder). Needless to say, my hair now looks like someone got a bowl, put it on my head, and cut around the bowl. This is one of the worst haircuts that I've ever gotten and I specifically told her that I did not want to have short hair. This was a horrible experience and I won't come back again. read more

I've been to the Dadeland Station location and now Colonial Palms Plaza. Both locations greet me walking in with, "We're too busy. We can't take you." Didn't ask if I had an appointment, which I did. Just so quick to tell me they don't want my business. That's fine. I'll take my money and go elsewhere. Not sure why these people that are working for tips are so quick to turn away paying patrons. When I worked for tips, I went out of my way to accommodate people and be nice and inviting. Both locations I received the opposite treatment. Horrible service. I made an appointment on their website for a shampoo, haircut and blow dry the day before it was to be done at 2pm with Zori. I arrived 10 minutes before my scheduled appointment and Zori was midway completing another client's hair. 30 minutes AFTER my scheduled time she approached me and stated, "I have my 2:30 coming in now. Can you wait around till after 4pm?" Zori completely lacked insight into how to manage her time and her appointments. Ok I have always said that you can get a great haircut at a cheap place and a crappy haircut at an expensive place and vice versa this is the former the lady here that I love, Evelyn, is a Latina chick that has been cutting hair for 35 years. SHE KNOWS HOW TO CUT HAIR AND SHE LISTENS TO WHAT YOU SAY (hard to imagine as that may be) She is absolutely fantastic and, as you know probably the Haircuttery is not a very expensive salon so I highly recommend this lady and as a matter of fact I got my hair colored at another Haircuttery, (just because it was closer to where i was). It was the one in Midtown on 17th & Biscayne and it was pretty good too. Here's what everyone needs to be aware of when going to ANY Hair Cuttery. Even though the price lists are pretty much the same, the interpretation is certainly different. BEFORE you get your hair cut/blow dry or whatever service you want, make sure you understand what the bottom line is price wise. I've been to 2 Hair Cuttery locations. I go in for a haircut and blow dry, no shampoo. I ask them to just spray my hair wet before cutting. The one at 13617 S. Dixie Hwy will charge $28 for the haircut and an actual blow dry (really blow dry with hair brush and all). For the same exact service, the one at Suniland Shopping Center will try to charge you $45. When I pointed out the price list hanging in the store for $28, the lady told me that with that kind of blow dry, it's just a quick blow dry with hands only. Basically you pay an extra $17 to use a hairbrush?! Fortunately, I was only charged $18 because I wound up going home and blow drying my hair myself. I refuse to pay any more than $30 for a simple 1 inch cut from the bottom of my hair and blow dry. (And note, my hair is not long, it was touching my shoulders when I came in as I understand that hair length can be a price issue as well). Like I said, VERIFY, before they start on your hair. If I were to rate the 13617 one, they would get 4 stars, where the Suniland one would be getting a 1 star. Because I had to put in my rating, I averaged it at a 3 as a result.
