My wife has had multiple hair appointments for K-tip extensions. At first they started out great,…read morebut as time went on and after a few appointments they became worse and worse, making her lose more of her natural hair each time. It first started with the extensions being placed to high above the ear constantly pulling her hair. Then leading to the keratin placement and amount used. They're supposed to blend in not stick out like a sore thumb. She used almost a full inch for each extension placed, with this and the amount of hair used for each extension it looked tacky and rushed. With this last round of extensions they were placed too heavily and used too much keratin to hold them. As they began falling out they were taking a LOT of her natural hair with them. This hair used to go down to under her bra line and now it barely reaches her shoulders. She took the rest of them out today and couldn't believe her eyes. I come home to her crying and hating what has happened to her hair due to the amount lost and terrible inserts of the extensions. This type of service should stay the same throughout the appointments, and customers who continuously come back should not have to deal with their hair being ruined as a result of a lack of care and hurriedness to get the appointment done. We will not be returning as this has been a downhill ride from the start. Ruining someone's hair as a result of sloppy and lazy work is terrible when hair is one of the key features that people identify themselves with. And when you tarnish that it's time to go somewhere else. As far as service goes there are no immediate complaints. The workers were pleasant and friendly.

Wish that I could give this place a good review. They scheduled me for an early morning appointment…read moreincluding consultation. I repeated multiple times what it was that I wanted, which was essentially an ombré/bayalage style. Darker on the top, little lighter on the bottom. My stylist decided, for whatever reason, that we would be doing highlights. The style that I got was complete opposite from what I requested (again, multiple times). Not having what I had asked for during this trip done in the past, I was unsure of what to expect, so trusted my stylist, as this was a $200 trip to the salon. Not including tip. Very unhappy. I will say that the atmosphere here is calming. It was easy to schedule my appointment. That's about it.

I love Ciao Bello and will be sad when I leave Williamsburg in August and have to find a new…read morehairstylist elsewhere. I have been so happy with my haircuts from Diane and also the other stylists that I've seen when I needed a cut on very short notice and Diane was unavailable. For about the same price (at least for a guy) as a haircut at one of the chains in the area, I get a cut/style that is virtually indistinguishable from the cuts I used to get for 2-3 times the cost at a salon in DC. They also offer a discount for William & Mary students. So pleased I found Ciao Bello soon after moving to Williamsburg. Based on the quality of my haircuts, the very reasonable prices, and the overall experience, I can't recommend it enough.

I had been going to the same barber in the city for years, so my expectations were high. After my first visit with Carmen, I can honestly say he exceeded them. Carmen is personable, professional, and incredibly attentive to detail. He takes his time, asks questions, and makes sure he understands exactly what you're looking for before he starts. His shop is spotless and has a welcoming atmosphere. I got a mid fade and beard cleanup, and both came out perfect. The fade is clean, blended exactly how I wanted it, and the beard trim was sharp without being overdone. You can tell Carmen takes pride in his work and genuinely cares about his clients leaving happy. If you're looking for a barber in the area, stop searching and book with Carmen. I'll definitely be back.
