It's a gem that somehow perfectly combines the feeling of being in the middle of center city and being in a very private salon. Haircut - You have to ask for Sarah, you would be a fool not to. If you don't know exactly what you want coming in, she'll work with you to figure that out. She is meticulous with a great attention to detail - even though there's usually someone waiting, she takes her time with you until it's perfect. And it's not like other salons I've been to where I feel pressured by other people waiting to get their haircuts; because it's so big and spacious I cannot physically see anyone waiting, so I feel calm and peaceful the entire time. Then, as you walk out you see the people waiting, not because the stylists are running late, but because people just get here early because this place rocks. The haircut Sarah gave made me feel so confident - like a new person, which is right on time seeing as how I have interviews coming up! I will definitely be going back to Sarah for another bangin' haircut!

I will always ask for him. The reason for the 4 stars is that they are a little "Covid Crazy" there. You can't come in until they are ready for you (I understand that), but they want you to prepay and pre-tip (how can you tip before the service is performed). You also have to enter through the front door and out through the rear door. You have to get your temperature checked as soon as you walk in. Masks work right? Why are we doing all this? Ugh, I can't take it. I won't go back until these restrictions are lifted, but I will be back. Also, they have a fridge full of drinks (water, soda, and beer). I wasn't offered anything. A beer would have been nice. For $55 out the door I feel like that's the least they can do. Ok, rant over. Thanks again, Ray!

First he listened to what I wanted and did not try to foist his method or vision on me. Second, although I thought only 15 minutes was allotted for appointments, he took twice the time, which I really appreciated. (Fifteen minutes didn't really seem like quite enough and I'm grateful he spent the time.) Finally, I lived next door decades ago and recently returned to the neighborhood, and it was interesting to get an update on the local history of the place, the good and not-so-much. This may not be the job of your local barbershop/salon, but what a bonus. Thanks!
