Hair by Kenny is a very nice friendly place to go to when you need a hair cut. The price is not like other barbers either, for a men's hair cut, it is only 10$. I have been going here ever since I was in middle school. The hair cut is quick but the waiting is a while. I recommend going before it hit 5 o clock, but if you really need a hair cut that day, you can still go they say they close at seven thirty but I have gotten a cut at eight before. Lots of the time it was for a special occasion like for a wedding or a party. I usually get a cut by Kenny or the guy all the way by the gumball machine, I don't really have experience with anyone else in there. Kenny and the guy by the gumball machine are very popular and the lines can get very long. I have waited over two hours before just for a hair cut. I believe they should make a waiting list or allow people to call ahead in order for them not to waste hours to wait in line. I have heard good things about the other barbers in there, but also heard a lot of bad things about them, so I try to stay away and stick to the people who cut my hair already. This barber shop is really affordable and good for the community. I see a lot of kids and construction workers come in after work or after school. The shop hours are very flexible too, most would close around six, and construction workers wouldn't be able to get a hair cut in time. Around six is when it gets very busy because of all the construction workers and kids attempting to get a cut, so that's why I recommended going before 5. Now the quality on the cut, the quality of the hair cut is not bad for 10$, but I had some bad days where they missed a spot or forgot a detail. These things aren't too bad to make me not want to come back, they do only charge 10$, to begin with. The barbers are human beings and can't be perfect every day, their skills are there and most of the time you will see it. They cut my hair in about 10-15 minutes on average. I came in positive that they couldn't possibly botch such a simple cut. I had nice long hair before this visit. The lady did not listen at all to what I was requesting. I asked for layers and she proceeds to cut it straight across. I stop her halfway through to remind her and came out with this monstrosity that's leaving me in tears. It's so choppy and WAY shorter than what I had initially told her. My hair used to be all the way down to my hips and is now half the length it was when I had only asked for an inch off. And, she kept yanking my hair and touching my face. I'm never coming back here again! She kept pointing out my skin and some scarring I had then proceeds to criticize how I let it get like that. Terrible service. I waited over an hour and fifty three minutes for one specific barber, he saw me come in, and I waited through 8 haircuts, when I got up and headed towards him he stated there were people that got there before me (BS!). I continued to wait and he serviced 5 more people but never made eye contact nor helped me (if you come in it is the barber to your right, the very last seat near the window). At this point another barner asked me if I wanted help and I said yes he cut my hair and did a terrific job. I gave him a $5 tip (it would have been more but due to the other jerk I had wasted two hours of my life there so o I was not going to give the establishment more money). I'll describe it as David Beckham hair but if you're looking for that ultra clean look on the cheap, this place is it. Great place for guys to get their hair cut and lined up for cheap. The 4 guys towards the front all do an excellent job. The 2 younger ladies, one cuts my hair better than the other by a little bit, the taller one. I have not gone to the older man or woman near the back. Their technique isn't that great for my hair, they each cut to get the right "shape" but when you go back to style it later, doesn't really follow the natural flow of my hair and the ends start sticking out. They don't really assess each individual's head for their hair growth direction This is something I expect from more expensive barbers. Given the price, you can imagine they're going for more speed and less personalization. My main gripe is the lines here are ridiculously long and there is no signup sheet. So you have to remember to look around and keep tabs on who was there before you and arrived after. The most I've waited is a little over an hour on a Saturday afternoon. However you may wait longer for the more popular barbers. They recently raised their price by $0.99, so it's $8 instead of $7. Given everything I said this is still my go to place and I've been here countless times. These guys live on tips so tip accordingly. read more

Customer service needs major help. Took my son here and was berated on why I don't teach my kids Vietnamese. Seriously? It's none of your business! My 18 yr old son seems to like them though so he continued to go... Until today. Sat there waiting and they would not serve him. Yes the hair cut is okay for the money BUT I will not be going back. I have noticed that they do not clean/sanitize their clippers, combs or brushes after previous use. They were very rude to my teenage son and I. I only saw one man out of 20 in there with a haircut other than the cut I described - I asked the guy cutting his hair to cut my sons the way the one guy in the place with a regular haircut had his hair cut, but he didn't. He had just finished cutting the guy's hair so I knew he could. When I was trying to talk to the barber about how to finish the hair cut to what we described he told my son to get up and leave, My son was very humiliated.
