Jon Carlos is amazing! I'm incredibly picky about where I get my hair colored, have been getting it done for twenty years and honestly never want to see anyone else. It's so nice being able to trust someone with your hair color who not only listens to your direction but has an inherent intuition about how to make hair look awesome. I was trying to go from a warmer blonde to a white platinum and another stylist totally botched the process -- my mom actually sent me to Jon Carlos, and he saved my hair and transformed it to the beautiful platinum I had originally wanted. He's incredibly knowledgeable about all things hair and has so much experience -- he knew how to take my hair to where I wanted it to be without damaging it, and was great about communicating throughout the whole process -- including where we could go in future sessions and how I could maintain my hair in between. Jon did an outstanding job touching up my roots today. My hairdresser from Indiana had provided the formula and Jon discussed that with me in detail. I told him I wasn't sure if I also needed my highlights refreshed, but Jon did not recommend that even though he had allotted enough time to do both my roots and highlights. He was so kind even though he wasn't going to get as much business from me. Ironically, his next client had not scheduled highlights but decided she needed it and Jon had time so it all worked out. I know it is harder to just touch up roots, but Jon really did a great job. I would highly recommend Jon Carlos! Nice guy, very thorough, and he does excellent work. read more

Jon was nice enough but he said the style I wanted was out dated. I said I needed my hair off my neck so he said I'll give you a more modern look. He cut practically all my hair off and what he left he texturized. I'm 70 years old and work hard to get my hair think. Now it just lays on my head and looks horrible. I don't know what to do with it and I have a "wing" on either side of my head. I'm just going to have to stay away from mirrors for the next 6 months. I went for a haircut and highlight/color. The haircut was fine, the highlights/color was terrible. He didn't listen to what I wanted. Basically, put dark color on my hair and I had to go to another salon to get it fixed. Also, if you do not want to speak to anyone for the entire time you are there, he is your guy. Sorry to add an opposite opinion but I chose to go to Jon because of all the positive reviews. I have short hair and know how hard it is to find a good hair cut. It took two months to get an appointment - expected due to high season. I expected a normal amount of time allotted for my hair cut, but instead he spent 10 minutes total to cut and dry my hair. I was literally in his place and back in my car within 30 minutes, including the time it took to talk about what should be done with my hair and pay. That is the time it takes for my son's hair cut at a barber shop - And my hair looks like it was cut at a barber shop. I was shocked to be done so fast. I have always had hair cuts that people tell me look so good - but this time - I am actually getting - "did you want it to be so choppy?" I have highlights (done at another place) that now look broken and awkward - he took no time to blend the bangs and angle the cuts. For me, he didn't do a good job for the price paid - instead of a $95 hair cut it should have been $25. I did leave an additional 20% tip because at the time I was hoping I would get home and be pleasantly surprised by how good it looked - but I was wrong. Only writing this because I would have appreciated seeing both positive and not-so-positive reviews to make a decision to go here. read more
